This is actually derived from a TV series that ran from 1985 to 1989, that starred actor Edward Woodward. It was one of my favorite TV shows in the '80s. Denzel did an incredible job with the role.
Yes I no he used to leave his card in the phone booth I used to watch it back in the day in the U.K he used to wear a grey trenchcoat and Edward Woodward was one of ours he was BRITISH
I grew up watching the 80s show I'd definitely watch that one over the new Queen latifah one 💯🤡💩. Man on fire is another good Denzel one or more family friendly Remember The Titans
What going back to their roots?? Keanu started off in comedies not action movies he was known for play the male air head roles. And Denzel was orginally know for dramas not action. So dont see where you see them going back to their roots.
I guess you have never heard of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure ???? Or A Walk In The Clouds??? Both came out before "his action roots". Denzel was In a TV medical Drama in the 80's called St. Elsewhere. People's careers don't start and end only with stuff that you have seen them in.
Remember The Titans is one of Denzel's greatest performances. Excellent score and can almost quote every single line from that movie. You definitely have to check it out
Antoine Fuqua also directed King Arthur (2004) with Clive Owen and Keira Knightly. It's a really good movie and very different from the urban action movies he usually directs. It's definitely worth the watch.
King Arthur (2004) is such an amazingly good movie, so sad that no one watches/reacts to it, sighs, and it's the most accurate telling of the historic Arthur, instead of the usual Arthurian legend/mythos/fantasy as is usually told/shown
Always a solid one. Part 2 is great as well. A few others in the style of this and Jon Wick are "The Accountant" with Ben Affleck, "Jack Reacher" with Tom Cruise and "The Bourne Identity" with Matt Damon.
Another thing about the movie is. I believe Chloe was still teenager in this but for the role she talked about she put on about maybe 15 pounds a muscle just to look a little. Older in body size kind of worked.
You must also watch the second part. That's great too. There is also a third part coming. There is already a trailer for the third part. Have fun watching.
Fun fact Kabir about Denzel Washington he's From the same city in New York that I currently live in, Mount Vernon, New York. He makes his very proud, and he represents Mount Vernon to the fullest. He's also in the Mount Vernon Hall of fame along with other famous celebrities from my city.
Not Motown; "Midnight Train to Georgia" is a song by Gladys Knight & the Pips, their second release after departing Motown Records for Buddah Records. Written by Jim Weatherly, and included on the Pips' 1973 LP Imagination, "Midnight Train to Georgia" became the group's first single to top the Billboard Hot 100. It also won the 1974 Grammy Award for Best R&B Vocal Performance By A Duo, Group Or Chorus and has become Knight's signature song.
definitely check out the the sequel it a good movie and it's historical in that its the first time Denzel has played a character more than once he never did a sequel to any of his other movies and they're currently in production on the 3rd
This was based on the 1985- 1989 TV show the Equalizer. Robert McCall was a former British spy and SAS. He put ads in newspapers to help people in desperate situations. Good TV show too but didn't show much violence.
It didn't show much violence because it was 80's T.V. and they still had to get passed the "decency board" (The Code of Practices for Television Broadcasters).. Another show from the period that didn't show violence, though it was BASED on violence, was the A-Team. Each production company had a group of people (the board) that made sure the show wouldn't go beyond the Code of Practices. If you've ever watched "Whose Line" bloopers, you see it in action when "The Brit" came on set and told them they couldn't do a particular joke, or use certain terms...
Also another fact about this movie this is based off of a 1980s TV series from back in a day I used to watch It as a kid. I'm a Charlie 80s my father and I loved it in the original series. Robert McCall was a former British agent who moved to New York City and used his skills to help the little people those that get lost in the shuffle of. Law enforcement hence wise name was called the equalizer research it I suggest.
Just love watching your reactions, it's like you feel the ouches with your oooos & aaaaahs. You'll enjoy the 2nd movie as well. Until next time..........
I absolutely 💯 love Denzel Washington as an Actor and as a human being. He plays such diverse characters and mostly very dynamic roles. I’d recommend more DW movies 🎥 . Great 👍🏽 Choice. I loved 🥰 your Reaction. TY Kabir.
It’s a great movie. We love your style & intellect Kabir. On a scale of 0-5 based on the movie: 4.5 out of 5, “I will never, ever, ever mouth off to another Home Depot employee again!” P.S. “Inside Man” is a fantastic movie with Denzel & almost nobody has reacted to it!
Its something that happens when u get good at something. Really good. In sports they say the game slows down and its like u see and react to things much faster. He has been trained to kill with what is on hand so he also has to clear how many he has to kill. Then its all done in his mind. He knows who is going do what and what he is killing them with and just flows through the attack.
very methodical and meticulous, people wrongly mistake this for some physical/mental condition/illness, along with as you already pointed out, extreme training and muscle/brain memory, and skill and natural ability
Robert the ultimate warrior of god, Wonder what his job was to gain such skill and power guy literally went from drinking tea to taking don a mafia on his own lol
He's 68😮! Classic OCD. I recognize the way he arranges and rearranges objects, times everything, plays scenarios in his head. OCD. It takes one to know one.😉
This was actually a tv series first and in that show Robert McCall a retired agent from a secret government agency (CIA) had a son which was played by William Zabka (Johnny from Karate kid and Cobra Kai)
Hey man, yeah, it wouldn't have helped for Robert (Denzel Washington) to have Ralphie run, if his job is pulling people out of a burning building, so that's why he had him pulling a big azz tire. Also, later in the final battle, he wasn't just playing Motown, he was playing Gladys Nights & The Pips.
If you're heavy, running as exercise can be very hard on your knees and ankles and arches. Low impact aerobics are a better bet, cycling, rowing, ellipticals, etc. If you can do a rowing machine that allows full extension to a flat repose (or further), then you can work your whole body when you include alternate oblique sit-ups on the forward stroke. I lost a lot that way.
The premise of the original 80's Equalizer TV series this is based on is a retired agent who advertises that he's available to help the people who need it, desperate people that the police can't or won't help. I loved the 80's series, loved both the Denzel movies and I love the current Equalizer TV series starring Queen Latifah. But every week in the news these days is a new event where some lone wolf takes a gun and shoots a bunch of people because he thinks he's doing the right thing or righting some kind of wrong. So now I watch these vigilante stories with a bit of an uneasy feeling.
Nice reaction. Film based on a TV series from the 80s. You should watch the sequel. IMHO it may not be quite as good as the first, but still a great movie.
I'm glad it takes awhile before we really know who this guy is . Once we do we know this guy is expert at what he does. We also know this guy has probably seen some shit.
Two books a year? What the...? One can read fifty books a year if he's dedicated to finishing at least one a week. For the workaday person who's tired every night, I'd shoot for one book every two or three weeks. You can get through 100 books in less than three years.
You need to watch the 2nd film and there’s the final chapter coming out next month it takes place in Italy HES up against the MAFIA in the last film the intention was supposed to be a trilogy
"He didn't come for help. He came for permission" my favorite line in the movie.
My favorite line was "I hit it on something stupid"
@@arsalsedo53 When Robert asked Alena how she got a black eye, she said "Something stupid", so I loved it when Robert made his comment.

Probably my most favorite non-Motown R&B songs of the 70's
The Old Man and The Sea is an excellent metaphor for the protagonist in this movie.
I'm glad you also like this movie so much, yet I've hope we will see your reaction to the sequel in future.
Based on an 80's tv show staring Edward Woodward❤Equalizer 2 is just as good❤Also another Denzel movie I love is Unstoppable 2010 with Chris Pine...
Loved that show. MacGyver's very deadly grandfather.

That was Denzel's best acting performance for me. Should have won an Oscar for that role.
