Cause the signature Wah is based on the rack mount Wah he is using. This is where you got to give Jim Dunlop props for recreating the sound of his rack unit in a small pedal format cause you normies couldn’t have afford the rack Wah he uses.
john does this fantastically! he doesn't interview with the attitude of "i already know what all this does". he's interviewing for the new people or just us guitar players that are genuinely interested and perhaps don't know some of this gear! I like his interviewing style. wouldn't it be boring if john said "Yeah i know what a tube screamer is, lets move on" haha.
Lovely simple board!! What else does a guitarist need to make noises in the end of the day! Loud tubes and pedals make me most happy after trying all of it :) Rock on Premier Guitar, really inspiring content as always!
@@maidenthe80sla Of course his tone isn’t the same. He just released a BLUES album playing Magnatone amplifiers. This isn’t GnR, bro. It’s not supposed to be. Go listen to the album. 🙄
For the people complaining about his indepth explanations, imagine you're a beginner getting into guitar for the first time, and you watch these videos to help you see how your favorite players achieve their sound. I think having someone explain what everything does is probably going to be helpful and interesting. We get it, you know what everything does, you're such a big boy and you're very special. Humble yourselves before commenting silly things.
hey I may or may not know things dammit lol but to be fair the younger folks might not get the peter frampton reference, that's sort of a moment in time there for real (referring to "Do You Feel Like I Do" 10 minute talk box sequence on "Frampton Comes Alive!" album) but I bet more millennials have seen "Darwin Derby" by mr talkbox than the frampton video.
I think that was done on purpose, which is actually nice. Yeah, us old farts know exactly what a Tube Screamer is, but there was a time when we didn't, and we had to learn from somewhere. So maybe there's a 10 year old who's never even heard of SRV or Ibanez who's gonna go "hey, what's that green pedal" and discover it because of this. Pretty cool
The first thing I notice was the regular wah, instead of his signature. Glad they touched on that. I love that Slash has the freedom to do what he loves with this band, and with SMKC. Then, also does the massive GN'R tours. He is definitely one of the hardest working men in rock.
Now I know what a Tube Screamer does. Now I know what a Phase 90 sounds like. Now I know how long Boss has been making its DD range. And this is a cable, you plug it into your guitar. Why bother sending John along when we have this masterful wordsmith to patronise the bejesus out of us? John asks the questions and the tech tells the artist specific anecdotes, not what a feckin' Tube Screamer does.
i own that same DELAY and the VOO DOO LAB on my pedal board but i am all about instrumental Funeral Doom metal not this overrated corporate mainstream sh%t ok i ll piss off
It's hilarious when an artist has multiple signature wahs but doesn't use any of them.
😂
As the gibson LP’s and Marshall amps 😅
I can respect it. “I gotsta get paid”
Cause the signature Wah is based on the rack mount Wah he is using. This is where you got to give Jim Dunlop props for recreating the sound of his rack unit in a small pedal format cause you normies couldn’t have afford the rack Wah he uses.
It's hilarious the original model the artist's signature guitar is based off wasn't built by the company that stamps the headstock.
John smiles like he's never heard of any of these pedals. 😁

A lot of respect for John. He asks and let the guy talk about it. Awesome!!
Bohlinger has de patience of a monk.
No more eq pedal in slash’s rig! That new magnatone amp must be incredible! Such a simple pedalboard 👍🏽

Darn that gaf tape on the knobs!! Now I'll never know how to make a tube screamer sound like Slash. Life can be so cruel.
Don't sound like Slash. Sound like YOU.
@@michaelyolch79bingo! If I wanna hear Slash I’ll go on Spotify and not listen to you.

@@maidenthe80sla could be the case. I haven't heard any clips. Regardless of the rig, I bet he still sounds like Slash though. :)
@@daviddigital6887 agreed!
I can hear the difference in the rosewood board, sounds warmer. Both sounds great.
😉
😂
Man, Slash looks so different without his top hat. They keep referring to him in the third person which is also weird.
I wanna know what you've been drinkin this morning
Agreed, great album. Very cool back to roots pedalboard.
Met Ace when I was a kid. Great guy, he gave me a pic of Slash's and let me take photos of Slash's guitars
Well I think we all learned Something new today

What's a tube screamer?
Not sure. Sounds like it makes your tubes scream.
Ibanez manufactures them. Many famous Blues/Rock guitarist use them to overdrive their tube amps for an edgy'er sound.
Bohlinger just smiles the whole time bro is mansplaining all the crap the whole guitar playing world knows.

Great rock board for everybody !
This is awesome I have the Evh phase 90, ibenez tube screamer and a wah I just need slash to sign my les Paul then we are good 🤘🔥🔥🤘
For me the best Slash sound I've ever heard was the live in Sydney with the Conspirators.
Leslie is actually before the phaser! 😊
I love how Saul couldn't be bothered for this interview.
This video could be 2 minutes long but this guys yaps lol
We’re here for the yapping, dawg. If you don’t want all that just take a screenshot of his pedalboard and there ya go 😂😂
I like him!
Never heard of a tube screamer
Similar to the Joyo Vintage Overdrive
It just makes your screams tube
@@douglasdog1😂
lol. he's explaining all of this like were 10 and don't know what rock n roll guitar is.
😂
1:34 Why the tape over the knobs? Is it so people can't see the settings?
just so you don't accidentally move them during transport.
Technician: "... and that's the tubescreamer"...
Bohlinger:"Wow!!!!!"
😂😂😂
Mogami patch cables. Best
Oh no way, Ill have to check out that.. how do you say it again.. Tube Screamer pedal? Did I get that right??

Slash, bring back the boost signature wah 2:05. I own that one. Make me feel like we still sound the exact same when playing guitar 😂🤣😂🤣 (I wish)
This tech seems really cool. I love the tube screamer description. 🙌🏽
Basically a stock, straight off the shelf, pedal collection. That's what I like, great artists using "normal" stuff that anyone can buy.
A boost circuit in a Wah…that’s brillant.
By design, a wah is already a boost. It is a bandpass filter.
Where is Adam Day?
He only helps slash on the GnR tour anymore. He has a couple other guys he uses for the smaller tours.
SRV used a tube screamer !!
What is happening on that stage for everything to be taped? And why does he need two pedal powers for 7 pedals?
Extra power for extra tone. Also, taped because bondage is sexy.
No talk about the amp? 🙄
Get rid and get a hm2 and sound 1000000 times better
Such a busy dude. Don't let the grass grow under your feet. Hey! could be the title of a song...🙊🙈🙉🎸🙏🇬🇧😎🍷👍

John asks the questions and the tech tells the artist specific anecdotes, not what a feckin' Tube Screamer does.
He certainly likes the school teacher approach
And this is air, people breathe it fast or slow or hot or cold, when one dies air does not get used…🤭
SRV used a Tubescreamer 😵😵😵😵😵😵, Is he sure about that ?
Surprising there's no distortion or fuzz
He’s pretty self contained said by the tech who hooks it all up and breaks it all down and even takes the time to explain it
Thus guy is acting like nobody has ever heard of any of these pedals.
He acted like we don’t know how a talk box works
@@Ottophil Or a tube screamer
....which is great
ACE!?!
I would have to be a billionaire to actually afford those pedals.
😍😍😍😍 primeroooo
🤘😈🤘🔥🔥🔥
Забавно, что никто не ударил по струнам. Рассказали про звук😂
Great! But no sounds 😐❤️
How long has Slash had Captain Obvious teaching for him?
Teching
That’s a small stage...
Is this a parody? This guy is really outta touch. Poor John.
i own that same DELAY and the VOO DOO LAB on my pedal board

ok i ll piss off
The best tuner is an Evertune bridge
Can’t go wrong with a tube screamer
As much as I love slash he lost he way
It's getting old when the artist are to "cool" to show us there board, screw them
Am I crazy or is the host just being nice because this tech has the most basic explanations on all of these boomer pedals lol
Nvm there’s no MT2 but not even a single BOSS pedal? Boooo…..
Pretty sure the DD3 has a big Boss logo on it
😂
No tones? No care
Lol the tape on the knobs...kinda lame from Slash...
I've done that before to keep from kicking the knobs-I found some locks for the controls from D'Addario, and I use those.
holy shit i use an mxr cae line driver boost too! straight-forward, transparent gain juice.
Someone put him in touch with @ThatPedalShow for a decent pedalboard build.
We're all rubes.
