To my ears the Mesa just sounds a little dark for a Slash inspired tone. That to me is where Marshall comes in when really reaching for a Slash tone. Good video though.
I actually love this video! I have the “Jessica” and I’m not really a slash fan. It’s just a sick guitar!!! I found this super educational. I’m a self taught beginner pretty much. Thanks Gibson!
If you can listen to appetite ... And put the balance to left (izzys side) and play along .. way more interesting than you would ever imagine ..scratchy, scarce.. harmonal overtones.. lol if anyone has done a GnR tribute and learned izzys parts ... 😮
No. Don't wanna sound like all the other million players that do all that since decades. Slash is one of them. Completely overrated. Nothing secret, nothing tricky.
You couldn't do that much heroine and play that many shows 😂 over rated?A4D was one of the best intro albums of any bands career. Izzy and slash have iconic guitar work on that album with timeless tunes that will and have stood the test of time.. I'm not even from that era of music, but damn dude, nothing overrated about that!
This is Gibson, they own Mesa Boogie now. Getting a Marshal for this video would be like going into a Mercedes dealership and seeing a BMW displayed there ;) Doesn't make sense
Why does Slash always get all the credit for the hybrid major/minor pentatonic scale, aka the modified mixolydian? It’s all been done before: Jimmy Page, Gary Moore, Michael Schenker, Neil Schon, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Joe Perry, nearly all Southern Rock guitarists, etc. and all of their blues predecessors dating back 100 years at least.
@@dustinbrummett3774 I got to be honest this is the first guy I've ever heard say anything like that I think the guy that posted this is just crying and complaining
Slash is cool but Izzy doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. AFD wouldn’t sound anywhere near the same without Izzy holding it down.
I respect that Gibson hasn't been afraid to mention competitors recently. We're all in this guitar game together.
They surely aren’t afraid to mention them in lawsuits!

The trick in the hat!
Gibson idolizes Slash because Slash is a marketer, not a guitar player.
@@michaelseay9783yeah he play banjo
@@michaelseay9783 On what planet did that happen ?
@@michaelseay9783 hmmm, you must have arrived here from an alternate timeline. He's a great guitar player player over here

Gibson please bring back Tribute series !
Cool video, musical ideas and some friendly theory, love it
Hey, thanks!
His Use Your Illusion guitar tone was the best imo.
JCM 800 modded by Frank Levi
@SMGMusic14 Silver Jubilee wasn't it?
@@BeGoodBe Jubilees were used on the Use Your Illusion tour while the Levi mod used on the albums stayed at home.
Really cool video,
you nailed Slash style without making it too difficult. I will learn everyting , enjoying it, and share it.
Thanks from Belgium
Awesome, thank you!
Now do the same video for Joe Perry.
Yes! And Jimmy P
Both great ideas
Does no one in front of or behind the camera hear that the guitar is out of tune?
Tune the guitar
1. Use a Marshall
2. Boost it with an EQ
Add a tuner pedal to that rig…and use it!
Gibson, that guitar intonation/tuning is off. Am I mistaken?
Gibson as usual... When you never fix the flaws from the 60ies...
More slash vids please ❤
Very well done video 👏
Great breakdown but I thought you would've touched a little on Slashes use of mixing major and minor pentatonics.
Incredible, thank you
I really enjoyed this 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Great playing demo, fun to watch.
I actually love this video! I have the “Jessica” and I’m not really a slash fan. It’s just a sick guitar!!! I found this super educational. I’m a self taught beginner pretty much. Thanks Gibson!
Niiiceeee, it does sound exactly like a Slash lick! Really awesome, or as we say in México: ¡Muy chingón!
Great video! Keep up the good work 👍
Funny hair dude
Excellent lesson. Great job !!
Why can’t you tune the guitar?
Dude.. tune the guitar!
It’s a Gibson Les Paul that’s not their thing lol. I guess it could be edit out
Built in Les Paul Tremolo effect...
right??
Eb
Probably in tune but having a high nut or not intonated issue. Happens to me too :/
Now we all are slash.. welcome to the jungle baby. I want get a job with Gibson and I live about a hour or 2 hours away from Nashville. Y'all hire?
Wonderful tones coming from that Mesa
Wonderful video and love the insight! ❤ could you break down that first riff and chords? Love to learn that as well!
pretty awesome video overall, thanks!
Wow! Another Slash Video!! NO WAY!!!!!!
Argghh bottom ‘E’…last time I heard that tuning was ‘Kick out The Jams’ live. Great vid all the same. Thx
cliff-note version: These are ALL Jimmy Page riffs etc, tuned 1/2 step down.
Lol you think slash is the only guy playing minor pentatonic? ☠️☠️☠️
Really playing through a Mesa amp as opposed to the Marshalls on stage is Slash's real guitar trick.
Cool guitar chords ☺️😁
Awesome!
cool video !
Hey guys, if you need a Portuguese technical revision for your subtitles, let me know. Thanks for the content!
gibson needs to do a slash amp... that actually sounds like his tone
😂 A M/B amp right after you just talked about Marshall. Fail.
I was laughing my ass off when he tried to clean it up with the volume control. 😂
ouch !....anyone have a tuner I can borrow ??
Technique #1 & #2 is more what Izzy Stradlin‘ did in Guns n Roses.
As a new guitarist and a fan of Slash, I enjoyed the video and found it helpful and inspiring. Thank you.

Nice hair
Word is Izzy plays all the leads.
... Play a lot of racket??
The DG slide is typical Izzy.
Only a gibson is out of tune enough. 😉
1st.....get a Marshall and not a Recti 😉

Exactly! @fearless
@@GeorgeVGuitars Marshall is still a Marshall....A Mesa is still a Mesa. Totally different amps 😉
But you need a Marshall, not the same without one.
Your Low "E" string is out of tune bro. check the bridge setup.
How can one NOT INTONATE + TUNE 🎵 a guitar for a video??? 🤯 Oh wait... It's a Gibson...

I have one big problem with this video - just too much good content in one place!! 😀Kept having to hit pause!
Haha, I hear you - that's the goal!
Slash just copied Jimmy Page's playing from MSG 1973.
Bro works for Gibson and still calls the eds-1275 a "double neck sg" lol
who doesn't? 🤣 i still call 61 les paul custom "3 pickup sg"

That’s a good point. Would be cool if they put the tabs up on screen.
