Great series of videos, thank you! I am trying to learn the roll by watching them. :) Do you have any tips on how to gain more speed? Because whatever I do, I can't seem to get more speed to get close to the top bar with my legs (and I have no one to push me :D). Thanks!
Hi Learning these from a video is hard. I would almost need to see a video of you to see what your problem is. All on which step you are. Send me a video on Instagram and
Hi, these videos are really helpful, thank you! I can do the roll but i get bad bruises in the middle of my biceps instead of closer to the elbows. Is this how it is supposed to be? Does anyone have any tips on keeping the hoop in your elbows a bit more?
Hi Hmm that is hard to answer without being your attempt. But I would say that I also initially felt the bruises on my biceps and not just in my elbow, but again- to say that you are doing them right I would have to see them. All the best Karin
What shoulder warm ups do you recommend before practicing this? It seems a lot on your front shoulders when you come down at such a speed and hang during practicing.
Use a lot of layers ion the beginning. With time, the rolls get easier and the body gets used, if you do the rolls regularly and the pain gets less. But in the beginning let it recover before attempting again. Great that you can do them though🥰
Do you think it makes a big difference if I am using a lighter, hollow hoop? I used to be able to do these on my solid hoop, but tried on my new hollow hoop configured for double point and now I barely get halfway. BTW, I hope you haven't reinjured your shoulder!
That is a good question. To be honest, I don't think it is the weight which makes a difference. But if you have taped or untaped Lyra can have a big influence. If you want, you could send me a video of your attempt or share it in the private Facebook group, facebook.com/groups/889669848139157 so I can give you some pointers. It is an old injury on my other shoulder, which finally is repaired. Can't wait to have two strong shoulders...
So thrilling to see Gabriela getting closer and closer and then achieving the first elbow roll! Very exciting
Yes, she learned it really fast 🥰🙌
That roll is a challenge but so much fun when you got it.
Amazing!
