Louisiana leaders laying the tracks for revived Amtrak rail line

A years long plan to revive a train line from Baton Rouge to New Orleans is in the works. Governor John Bel Edwards and Mayor President Sharon Weston Broome hopped aboard the Amtrak train Thursday morning for an hour long trip from the Crescent City to the State Capital.

imagine if they proposed an Amtrak route from New Orleans to Oklahoma City via Dallas, Shreveport, Baton Rouge. an extension like would be beneficial especially there's a hurricane coming to New Orleans the Highways will get congested. But there can be no freight trains delaying the trains & there needs to be at least 5 roundtrips.
