The onside kick told me that Scott Frost didn't think he could play Northwestern straight up for 60 minutes and win.

It’s completely unacceptable that Nebraska can’t compete with NW for 60 minutes. If I was in charge Frost would be resigning this evening. And Whipple and Chin would be interim coaches. As I start my hiring process for a new coach.

Football rule #1 - do not beat yourself. Let your opponent make mistakes and capitalize. Nebraska might want to start playing more conservatively and maybe fix the run defense.

Why is it that the opposing team always adjusts their game plan to exploit NE’s weaknesses but NE just hopes the same game plan will work for every game.

Love this guy he's so animated BUT he's right. The Buskers weren't favorable in many aspects of this game. I truly don't know what the issue is that's just keeping this team down. They are consistently consistent at shooting themselves in the foot. Now the Defense has been good for the lion share of Frost's tenure and now they have so many holes it's ridiculous. Well, you can always do what the media does when they truly don't know what the issue is with a struggling team: Just say they don't have an "identity". It's the current cliche' phrase that means nothing more than "I truly don't know what the issue is but I need to make it sound like I do". I'm sure we'll be hearing that term throughout the week concerning Nebraska. I can identify them, they're Nebraska. Big ol' red "N" on their white helmet. They're the team that media and its fan base props up every pre-season as a legitimate division contender with no real reason to do so. I will say, it creates some great point spreads for betting against Nebraska.

Frost admits to making the unforced error call for a onside kick in the middle of the 3rd Quarter… Cost the Huskers 7 points that ended up being the difference in the game and allowed Northwestern to change the momentum of the game and secure the upset…😨😡😡👎👎

The decision to onside kick was absolutely stupid at that point in the game. Never onside kick when you have an 11 point lead and the momentum. Stupid. Laughable.
Onside kicks have a very very low rate of success. Best case was we recover, worse case and by the most probable NW recovers and the momentum flips.

If the offense is getting gassed by the 4th Quarter (constantly) and losing close games over and over, that's poor coaching and poor conditioning. Frost needs to change his strategy and approach or else he's gone after season’s end.

Good Analysis of the game and an appropriate reference to a “Quick Hook” for Coach Frost, who gave Northwestern momentum with Frost’s Childish Call for an unnecessary onside kick that failed.
Scott frost has truly turned into one of the worst coaches of my lifetime. To be 15-30 at a place like Nebraska and to be 5-21 in one score games is astonishing. I’m not surprised they lost, but the fact they gave up 500 yards to northwestern tells me a rough seasons ahead.

If you're a team that repeatedly shoots yourself in the foot at the end of a game then calling an onside kick going into the fourth quarter is very on-brand.

Looking at the schedule, 2 wins this season. Who we beating? Rutgers, Illinoi? Doubt it. Those are 50/50 games and Both of those teams have better HC!
Absolutely inexcusable for Frost’s o-line to be so poor in year 5. The o-line is the problem on offense, and it affects the pass game and the defense as well. NW controlled the game with their balanced offensive attack.
D line was worse.
We haven’t controlled the line of scrimmage in years - on either side in my opinion.

In the final quarter Northwestern's offensive line manhandled Nebraska. Maybe the Cornhuskers just lost to a better team.

Because a good football program doesn't hire horrible coaches to have to constantly change them, DUH. Didn't both Oklahoma and Alabama hire and fire numerous coaches before finally finding Bob Stoops and Nick Saban to resurrect their programs. This has zero to do with constantly firing coaches and everything to do with hiring the right coach. Do you honestly think Oklahoma or Alabama would have kept Solich, Callahan, Pelini, Riley, or Scott Frost if those coaches would have produced similar results at those schools. The obvious answer is hell f*cking no they wouldn't have. Just as Nebraska did they would have fired all five of those guys, only sooner. Holding on to a bad coach just because you think it's counterproductive to fire him is how you end up with a coach with five consecutive losing seasons and a 15-30 overall record with no sign of improvement in sight. Wtf? So let me guess, you probably think Scott Frost's a couple of seasons away from qualifying for a bowl game if we just keep him as coach.

The question now is how much longer can this go on. Lucky we're playing North Dakota next week and not North Dakota State, because if it was State they might hang an "L" on us.

Nebraska is soft up front, the linebackers and secondary are too slow, and they turned the ball over too much. That is all you need to know. Two INT's, a fumble, plus the on sides kick. I count the on sides kick as a 1/2 turnover. I know most people don't, but when you flip the field it has consequences.

Some have it some dont.....if the coach believes it then players will....butttt....its hard as a coach when you straight up know....if I don't win enough I'm out....that worry is there regardless....maybe frost has grit....but when your put in that game situation again....how do you respond because the players know it too.....its all starts up top.....gotta have that fire 🔥 to the end even if the ship is sinking....
You’re absolutely right. A couple days ago Frost said something very telling, he made mention of how the team was gonna bounce back if they have a meltdown. The mere mention of his team possibly doing that tells me he doesn’t fully believe in them, and that he’s tried for the last few years to rectify it. Not good imo.
It's Frost's fault he's in this position. He was lucky to still have a job after going 15-29. He's a loser of a coach, plain and simple.

Northwestern made adjustments at Half-time … it’s an Even numbered year and Fitzgerald found Irish magic.
Northwestern looked sluggish at the beginning of the third quarter, then the onside kick turned the tide of the game. Northwestern had no respect for the Nebraska offense in the fourth quarter by just running the ball over and over. I think at least 10 straight plays. That's a clear message saying that we don't think your offense will do a damn thing. Guess what? They didn't.

Facts. Nebraska had big broken plays and Northwestern just played really well. Unfortunately just more of the same shite
