Sorry to hear about the passing of Brad Corey / Retired STR-SG! He helped me out when I got my Oscillator Control w/Preamp Mixer (the board just above the digital message player). Super curious to see what fun awaits with this thing!
Ive got this same panel sitting in storage mine came out of my old high school in Michigan that was being demolished. I got the panel, speakers and strobe plates, speakers and light plates, pull stations. Only reason my trouble light is on is due to bad batteries. I have a old laptop with rs232 serial that I can use to talk to my panel. Do I plan on hooking it back up oh yeah I do. Might put it back into full time service as our primary local fire alarm system in my house.
Wouldn't surprise me if the 2120's message later inspired the message used on the 4100/4100U/4100ES given the identical wording but different pace. Also good acquisition, these panels are VERY rare to find, heck in the fire protection world they're basically like an endangered species given how few of them were made, how few were installed, & how few still survive as 2120s, a lot have been upgraded to 4100s using an upgrade kit. Finding a 2120 still in service or even better being able to obtain one is probably like finding the Holy Grail to most fire protection community members. RIP Brad Corey.
@@so-vp2qh Could be: the 2001-series was made from 1978 to 1988 & the 2120 was made from 1981 to 1992 (voice-capable 2001s supposedly use the same message as the 2120).
You oughta try & see if the non-fire alarm messages (& potentially tones if there are ones besides slow whoop) can somehow be extracted out of the 2120 as those are important to archive given the 2120's rarity (& since the fire alarm message has already been extracted).
That is so cool you have a 2120 with voice evac. I have seen many of these in buildings before but sadly most of them have been upgraded to a 4100es. There is still one in service that I am aware of that still is the original 2120. Do you still have your other panels up and running it be great to see a system test of all the panels.
Cool! I also have a recording of that message on my channel if you wanna hear it in its full glory. It seems like the default message on the 4100+/U/ES is just a remake of the original 2001/2120 message. I hope you can record the tones on that panel, that would be awesome, and the Drill message, too!
Are you going to use older simplex speakers or are you going to use 4903s or turealart speaker strobes. And the Second message reminds me of voltage 400s system tests with his 4100u info alarm. Never knew what happened with that panel.
@@mrtruealert4452 nice to see the older simplex alarms back on the system. Excited to see the system test soon. I remember the first 2 4120 test. Those were my favorite system test of all time.
@@FourtyFiftyEighty maybe he will do it. But he gave one of his 4050-80s to Cj9899. I wonder if he has rest of them. I think he paid a lot of money to just get those alarms.
I saw your post on the fire panel forums. Unfortunately 2120 parts are near impossible and if you find one it’s probably expensive. I think you could use a simplex 4100 plus cabinet. But I’m not sure. You might have to use it as is. Maybe you can talk to your uncle about getting a a cabinet and the dress panel. Maybe you can get a cabinet from a simplex 2100 but simplex 2100s are impossible to find.
@@SomeDudeWithAnExitSign yes it I the Nortel system. we actually plan on recording it soon, we are just waiting on parts amoung other things. it ay get done before the new year.
Man, my excitement for the new system tests is indescribable! I missed the old ones so much!
Me too

I highly approve of this video! Kay, Thank you!
****THIS WAS ACTUALLY BRAD COREYS (RETIRED STG -SG)’s 2120. THANKS TO HIS FAMILY I OWN THIS*****
omg
idk if its alright if i ask but if its alright what happened to the previse channel? or is this the same one?

I wonder when the voice was recorded, I’m guessing late 1970s

is that how the voice recording sounded on those systems? Doesn't sound like 4100 or 2001 voice messages
u have two, tone generators that can do slow whoop. Is one set to classic slow whoop, and the other a different pitch?

Is there a cassette tape for the old 2001 voice thing somewhere?
This is amazing!
These are rare panels aren't they? Loving the voice messages. I'm making my own voice evac system as well. Nice video!
You’re correct. The only things rare then this panel is the Simplex 2100s. Those panels are more rare then anything.
That is old school i probably ran in to maybe 1 or 2 of those in the field still in use

i believe 2001s with voice evac were called 2100 panels i think
Sounds like the same voiceover artist, too. I'd love to know the names of the people who gave their voice to these systems

Yes I’m using 2903 light plates and model 4090-1 speaker and no not a 4090 9001 Iam it’s actually an older speaker

It's in the works. Stay tuned!

Very nice
This would be so cool on slow whoop with life alarm speaker strobes. SO COOL!
Yep it’ll have slow whoop with 4090-1 speakers.
@@mrtruealert4452 is that a speaker strobe or just a speaker?

I've seen simplex 2100's inphotos before, and they looked like they came in desk form, not a wall mounted console.

Hey Man! What happen to your old system tests?
He lost them on a hard drive.
cant wait for NEW SYSTEM TEST 1 WITH THE 4100ES, 4100U, AND MY 2120 (IM BACK)
