Basic overview of a Simplex 2120 Panel

This is the last one left in our area and it's getting ready to be upgraded so I figure I'll get what I can and put together a little overview of how it works and how to interact with it. Keep in mind, if you were fortunate to be around and learn and work on these, you will understand everything else that came after that. This is where SMPL Programming was invented and is still the platform used in todays cutting edge systems.

@@Rgidhkfel, my city has a few, 2001 panels left too. Why does this 2120 have a march time card for a 2001?

The 2120 used the audio components from the 2001 at the time

@@firealarmtech4100 , so it had the 2001 style march time, same tone generators, different voice tone of the same message, but clearly the same guy who did the message.

@@OrthodoxChristianBeliever yes, it utilized the 2001 tone generators and audio controller and the message was from a tape machine that later was upgraded to a digital box. The messages were custom recorded at the factory

Not sure, I'm not in that area anymore but I heard it's still on the wall but not in service
