Speaking stricktly for me, this is the most beautiful movie i have seen in a decade. Saw it twice already. A reflextion about life and the small things and trascendent things. A poem of delicate fotography. Awesome acting. The little pralines for Japan lovers. I love it.
Perfect days is a masterful, truly inspiring and moving film ❤ Wenders cinema changed my life once when I was a teenager, and now this movie also changed something in me, it gave me something quite inexplicable. I'll be forever grateful to this man ❤ And Koji Yakusho's performance was simply one of the best I've ever seen!!
@emilmaserrat7307 hi! I'd say Wings of Desire and Faraway so close, for sure. But the most important and dear to me is Until the end of the world. They changed me spiritually, they changed my sensitivity but also when I first saw them I was going through a very very difficult moment in my life and they helped me going through that, as really good cinema does.
I just got out of the movie Perfect Days - I bawled my eyes out for 50% of the movie. Paris Texas is my favorite movie of all time. Wim Wenders is a gift to our world!
A film of rare power, whose thematic import stays with the viewer long after it finishes. A cinematic treatise on mindfulness, which genuinely altered my view on life (I'm not close to the protagonist yet, bur whenever I reflect back on this film I remind myself to be more like him). Kaji Yokusho gaves one of the most moving performances I've seen in a film, and even more impressive it that he does it with almost no dialogue. I didn't know who Wim Wenders was when I went to see this film, but knew afterwards that only an artist of significant skill could have made this. I later learnt that Wenders created _Paris, Texas_, a film I have heard of as being iconic, yet have never seen before and know nothing about. I have no doubt that this man is a great director, and that I'll agree with the acclaim given to films like _Paris, Texas_ or _Wings of Desire_. I am so glad I went and saw this movie.
Probably the movies that made him fall in love with Japanese cinema (well apart from Drive My Car which was great). And regardless. Who is greater than Ozu? Doesn't matter how popular he is.
It's true, but then again these films are the first that come to mind for a reason. If you ask me to think of my favorite Japanese movie I also immediately think of something like Late Spring, or Ikiru.
Wowww I'm not surprise Wim Wenders enjoy Drive My Car. It shares the melancholy and beautifully human tone that his film has. While I was watching Perfect Days, it made me think he'll probably enjoy Manchester by the Sea too.
Koji sitting there like 'no cure?'
absolutely thought the same
Haha! I see what you did there
Sadly, the reality is that he didn't understand much of what Wim had said.
Its not very good
@@Kpopforlife1995 Clinically insane review of Cure.

Agree. It’s stayed with me like few films do.
It's very moving. The other great film of recent years for me is Eo, which may actually be my favorite movie ever made.
i dont remember loving a movie as much as.perfect days in like forever. genuinely changed my life
Watch Paterson...
@@dolevamitai1301 already have, great movie but its pretty different from perfect days in many ways

Great duo, hope they work together again

Best letterboxd video ever made. Couple of heroes. The world needs more Wim and Koji!
Two great artists and such a great, relaxing film. You can watch it over and over again!
Perfect Days is such a lovely film! So cool Letterboxd got to do this video with these guys.
Dzięki takim filmom jak Perfect Days mogę znów odwiedzić kino. Warto.
Wim's 4 is basically four general cinematic introduction of Japan.
And?
popular movie bad😡😡

I think you mean his list of 56 films. He included every film Ozu made. Not the exactly the most entry level cinephile achievement I’d say
It's true, but then again these films are the first that come to mind for a reason. If you ask me to think of my favorite Japanese movie I also immediately think of something like Late Spring, or Ikiru.
Drive My Car is such a good movie!
love both of these guys so much, thank you for the lovely experience
I've been wanting to watch "Pastoral: To Die in the Country" for so long, and now I want to even more :)
Woman in the Dunes is one of the best films of all time. And Tarkovsky loved it!!!
That’s sick. Didn’t know that
Yeahhhh Ozu!!! Can't wait to watch Perfect Days!
Vim is veey gracious and humble and Koji is a superstar.

Read Beard! Terrific, a masterpiece from the Master Akira Kurosawa. Great video. Love to see Perfect Days soon.
