Bang Chan and Hyunjin wrote Red Lights as a song about their constant, never ending obsession with work (their lives as idols, and all of the training, songwriting, performing, traveling, recording, etc.). It is meant to show how shackled they are by their responsibilities and efforts to be perfectionists about everything, even though they chose that life and they love what they do. But sometimes they want to escape it, too. BUT....... When they actually made the video......the visual concept was decidedly sexier than people were expecting. Especially from members of Stray Kids. So a lot of people have a misconception about the song and M/V because of the visual concept. And it doesn't help (it's funny, actually) that SKZ decided to take advantage of people's misconception for their stage performances. For those, the entire group is singing, and they have a pretty sexy concept there, too. So it started out as one thing......and then evolved into something else. LOL
I wish Stray Kids had filmed the whole group reacting to the MV. That would have been fun to watch their reactions. They did react to the audio. You are exactly right about the song and the meaning. The video of course is very provocative.
This music video was my first Skz experience, and it's still my favorite Skz song, I listen to it and watch the mv every day. The whole thing is a masterpiece.
