- What's up guys! In today's video we're going to be talking about 3 key steps you need to take to become more comfortable on keyboard and mouse in Apex Legends.
1. Picking the right sensitivity (0:39)
2. Picking the right mouse grip (5:20)
3. Picking the right keybinds (7:38)
My hope with this video is to give you all the research I've done regarding these topics and give you the ability to make better decisions that will make you a better player. This will save you a lot of time and wondering and allow you to be confident and comfortable on keyboard and mouse when switching to PC or switching from controller to kbam.
I also cover my settings, sensitivity, and keybinds as a lot of people have been asking me for them. Hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching!

Not going to lie, you're making me want to try learning some more mouse and keyboard again. Tons of great info, great video!
Glad you enjoyed man and I definitely recommend. I think you'd be a beast on the keys 🔥

Born in 88 been gaming since I was 5 with a controller and still do to this day. I recently trying to switch to mouse and keyboard and just give up when I don't see the results. This video beyond helped me and im just here to say thank you!
So happy to hear that! Thank you!
I’ve been playing Apex since day one and never fully felt comfortable playing it. This video is the answer to all the questions I had specifically about this game.
❤ so happy to hear that ❤
Appreciate it man. Really helping me on my transition to KnM
Happy to hear it!
This was a good video for me and prob other people. The way you went in depth without making it boring was incredible, and i liked how you went over each mouse grib even tho irts not really talked anout W video
honestly been on MnK for a year now and i only realized how important these tips are... great video man
Thank you! ❤
Heal wheel > everything :) Also a great video idea to accompany this is physical peripherals, and the ways you can optimize your setup for improvement! Could maybe even talk w/ Prosper on some opinions and maybe refs for papers and whatnot that you could use to back up claims and generally know stuff
Yeah for sure I think that would be a good idea. Backing up claims is smart tbh its hard to cite sources though because there is so much information out there and a lot of it is based on personal experience. Appreciate the feedback man ❤
@@Hybridify well things like showing info on mice, taking statistics on % of pros using light/heavy mice, does wireless matter, good choices and setups for monitors, posture (IS REALLY EASY TO USE REAL RESEARCH PAPERS), how you should be set up in relation to your monitor (and how to not follow Vexxey's example :) and how far apart things should be, and maybe you can show some ways they can experiment on their own to figure out what's right, idk, just some things I thought of while watching the video and thinking like "hm, he could expand on this using this"
Thank you so much keep up the high quality work man
Means a lot thank you!! ❤❤❤
im so glad you talked about keyboards cause i just switched to pc from console and have a big one and wanted to switch to a 60% for comfort
I've had 2 60% keyboards and I don't think I'll ever go back to a normal size one, they're great!
You’re the goat for showing your keybinds fr
Finally made the switch to pc from console but was nervous so carried over my controller setup. Watched this video and finally gave mnk a try. It’s frustrating since I’ve been playing on console since before season 1 and my movement feels incredibly slow. But after messing around and getting comfortable I got my first dub with over 1300dmg. Still feel so slow but I’m gonna stick to it. Thanks for the solid video man
Happy to help! I promise it gets easier! Keep at it!!
how have you been doin so far?
@@OfficiallyBlind really enjoying it soo much more now. Crazy to realize it’s been 8 months, everything feels so natural now. I’m not some movement god but doing things here and there like tap strafing, flicking shots, and all those topical mnk movements has been fun to get the hang of.
@@Nazvil whats the dpi and game sense you use?
@@anthonycastillo4855 hey man, so when I first switched I was in the 1200 dpi, but gradually I went lower and lower haha. I’m prettttty low currently at 400 dpi and I think in game sens at 1.8 with a 1.0 multiplier or whatever on apex. I don’t have a flashy play style, and i do require a lot more arm movement and hard flicks- but it’s what ended up feeling better for me personally
I'm going to be switching to PC this Friday, so this'll be really helpful
Really dope video man

I've been playing on mnk for about almost 2 months. And I'm not even kidding when I say I binged watched your videos. All the way up to season 0. I came from PS4 at the start of this game, and I left so many of my skins when I switched. And im still not that great but i know i can improve. Anyway, hope you have a great day bro!
That's awesome to hear. I appreciate the support on the videos! Your improvement will come, I know it will. Just keep putting that work in. :)
I'm about to download the game, and wanted to do some research. Thanks man.

Too tough maneee 😩💪🏽🔥 Champ 👑
Yes sir 💪
Nice video! I've been trying KnM for the first time... It's such a huge transition, my keyboard hand gets so lost during fights that I end up barely being able to move.
Yeah it can get hard having all the extra keys to get used to. If you have a friend that has some extra time, consider going into firing range and practicing as much moving and fighting while 1v1ing them. Might give you some good practice, otherwise the only real way to improve that is to have keybinds that are comfortable for you and just practice until you're familiar with it ❤
Are u better after 2 months?
THIS. My fingers get lost all the time. Especially during ADS. I think I need to switch my ADS from toggle to hold. Toggle just isn’t fast enough and I get stuck in ADS while people are shooting me. Then to make things worse, my finger get lost lol.
@@Hybridify this is awesome advice. I didn’t know you could go into firing range with other people.
Super Useful thanks man. Still inspiring 😃

Really good video man. I just made the switch from console to PC and using the keyboard in fights or high stress situations is still really hard for me.

I have bern playing on controller for 15 years, and apex since it game out. Well yesterday was my first day on apex with mnk, got multiple 3k+ damage games and managed to get 10 kills in my best game, looking good so far and these tips helped me too.
Aye that's awesome! Sounds like you're a natural! Happy the tips could help

I got a pc because I wanted more fps but kept using a controller because I’m decent at it and I always get killed on pc and haven’t won a single game in weeks. But in console I’d get like at least one win every time I played. This video actually helped thanks man.
Happy to hear that. It's definitely harder on PC but you'll adapt with enough practice, I believe! Keep at it
Personal tip that really helped me:
If you have played keyboard and mouse for a while, but not apex on keyboard and mouse, something you can do is make the keybind a from apex match your keybinds in a game you are used to. Ex: I made firemode swapping v, fast melee f, inspect weapon h (I played phantom forces on Roblox.) Idk if this is helpful, because I was a Nintendo switch player until this morning 🤷♂️
Reusing keybinds across games is super helpful because it's a lot easier for your brain to remember what's already familiar , (r to reload for example) that's a great tip
I just got a PC and this is very helpful 😩
Happy to hear that!! ❤
You have made me pull the trigger on switching from Xbox. Thank you sir.
❤ good luck, it'll be worth it 💪
@@Hybridify without a doubt. I just feel as though my gaming experience has capped for me on controller. Im craving the versatility.

Thank you, I'm a very seasoned apex player. All guides have been mostly by controller players.
Trying to get some pc representation in the content space for apex!
Great video, was looking for something like this tutorial. What moise do you recommend for a starter mouse?
Logitech g305 is cheap but a little heavy. If you have money try the gpro superlight/gpro wireless. And if you want small try the hati s wireless
@@Hybridify Thanks!

Yo thanks for the video man I’m currently transfering to pc
I've got a lot of videos on improvement on PC so hopefully those help you and i wish you luck! If you have any questions let me know!!
I'm new to PC I been a console gamer since I was 8 years old thanks for the tips I'm using my controller 🤣 I'll give the keyboard another try
Thank you for the video. I am building a pc for the first time and I want to play apex eventually. Anyway, I was wondering if you had any recommendations for monitors? I want a 240Hz but I also want to be able to do content creation. Photo and video editing.
I haven't used a 240Hz yet so I don't have any good recommendations for you, mine is a 144Hz. I would just recommend something with low latency and if you're doing video/photo editing you want to pay attention to the color and display specifications because most high end gaming monitors give up deep color/quality for speed. Maybe get a dedicated gaming monitor and then one for photo/video editing so you don't have to compromise
@@Hybridify thank you I appreciate the info
How do you not have like a million subs! Great content man!
Thank you! 😭❤ means a lot to me ❤
@@Hybridify Always happy to support quality man :) Much love!
Man that footage made me really miss the old lifeline. Feels useless now. Great video! Running lower sens really helped me with my aim after I adjusted
That's awesome to hear! And yeah I think lifeline got gutted pretty hard. I never see her ran in high tier ranked
Great guide. I’ve gotten comfortable with 3.0 800 is it really worth to lower it to 1.5ish? For close range I hip fire and it works pretty well.
You should use whatever is comfortable for you. I recommend settings for people who are looking for a good ballpark range, but if you're comfortable with your sens, stick with it!
Loving being back on MnK after being on console for 14 years. I forgot how much easier it is for me to use MnK over controller. I have spent months getting the sens I like. I play quite low sens. I run 1.3 at 800 and liking it. I used to run 0.9 at 800 lol
I'm running 1.2 800, I know what you mean about low sens feeling good. Glad to hear you're enjoying yourself!
@@Hybridify yeah been going up slowly been running 1.4 and I'm liking that more. Getting way more downs also learnt the wall run trick so that's helped win fights
Yeah movement on apex can be huge and game-changing if used right
Okay, I never make comments like this and I would never lie about doing something spectacular BUT I took the advice of this video and lowered my aim down to 2.0 on a DPI of 800. The first game I did after dropping my mouse sensitivity, I accomplished something I have never done in an Apex legends game before and I took out an entire squad by myself in succession. After that, my mid to long range aim was like a laser. All my shots were dead accurate and the only reason I went down In that game is because me and my only squad partner got sandwiched between two squads. I got 4 kills and at least 6 knocks for that game too. Thank you for this video.
Wow. So awesome to hear that! Hope you enjoy your newfound accuracy! And don't be afraid to play around with it and adjust it if you feel in later games that you're too slow or too fast, it's all about being comfortable. Glad to hear i could help! ❤
Bro this is the first tutorial vid that was actually helpful lol
Thank you!! Happy to help ❤❤
Good vid bro
Thanks man!
I think I am gonna make the change to PC gaming. I think practicing on Apex will also help me be decent at other games on PC as well.
This helped a lot! A problem I ran into that I can’t find help on is when I need to turn a full 180 degrees my wrist gets kind of stuck lol
You might be pressing down too hard and anchoring your wrist in place. Try just gliding your arm across the pad to do that 180

fantastic vid i was wonder should i buy kovaaks i use aimlab right now and it really hasn't helped much at all and some other pros have said that aimlab is not a really good aim trainer what do you recommend
I would definitely recommend kovaaks as it can be customized more and has better scenarios. I do have a video on kovaaks if you want to check that out, it may help you! Otherwise, there's tons of guides on youtube to help you out!
I'm gonna be switching from console to pc soon I hope I can get good on it. BTW good vid
Thank you and good luck!
@@Hybridify Just started playing on pc it takes time to get good lol
i just ordered a mouse and keyboard. funnily enough, mainly for minecraft but i might try it instead of my xbox controller on apex, mix it up a bit
It's definitely fun once you get it down! Just be prepared because trying an FPS on mouse and key is wildly different from the chill vibes of minecraft. Good luck!!

I started playing m&k not too long ago and I feel really comfortable now playing the game, but I just have one issue, I have a big keyboard (Corsair) and when I’m looting people I see all the good players looting really fast, and I can barely reach my esc button and not only that but the key is really small. Is there any way I can change that key bind or something else. Btw great vid.
Yeah there are a few other buttons that close out of your menu, E and tab I think tab is what I use
Found this video very helpful, my only thing is I'm great with my the keys on my mouse to the point I have most things set on it, I also have small hands. Switching from a controller is hard cause I'm so fluid with a controller.
Are there downsides to having my mouse buttons controller my ult, tactical, heals, and etc? I feel super slow trying to "reach" on a keyboard compared to moving my thumb to a spot I know. I do come from having keybinds for different main spell on wow so it just feels comfortable to me.
The only thing is just that whenever you have to press a button on a mouse, you want it to not mess up your aim during a fight.
Heals and abilities won't hurt to be on a mouse if you're comfortable, as long as you can click those buttons without changing your mouse grip and having to reposition your hand!
So i have a curious question, These aim training software such as Aimlab, are those super important to improve?
They are not required and are simply a tool to help you improve faster and isolate your areas of weakness.
You can still improve by just playing the game but it may not be as efficient
Really helpful, found out I was running 7.0 sensitive with a high DPI 💀
basically on crack 😂
do you recommend sprint by default? I notice my movement is very scuffed on keyboard
You can try it and see if it's better for you, I don't recommend it though because you give up the control of being able to walk at a given point and end up sprinting around corners and whatnot which can result in losing more gunfights
Subbed, im having a rough time man 😔 I feel like I can't move when I'm on 800 dpi and a 2.0 in game. Then a 1100 dpi feels good but the low sens makes it so tough that I feel sluggish. Then my q for fuse, Valk, and Champs with aimed tactical I hate because I can't bounce side to side when using it. Awesome video man, maybe it's just not meant to be for me. I'm diamond on console and can't do jack on pc.
How long have you been on PC? It takes a little bit to become consistent and proficient with aiming and keybinds. Everyone is different too so it might take you a different amount of time compared to someone else
