Our last week in South Gloucestershire

- Our first visit this week is to the big shopping centre in Yate. Yate is a town and civil parish in South Gloucestershire, England. It lies just to the southwest of the Cotswold Hills and is 12 miles (19 kilometres) northeast of Bristol and 12 miles (19 kilometres) from Bath.
Next we go to Thornbury, which is an interesting market town in South Gloucestershire, known for historic tales of treason, murders and for its independent shops. It has a fully renovated Tudor castle, although we did not visit the castle, I wish we had!
The castle was originally constructed by Edward Stafford, the only man to rival King Henry VIII’s wealth and status at that time. It was a display of wealth that Henry did not like, and after Stafford was found guilty of treason, the king took over the castle and it was a brief retreat for Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn.
We leave Gloucester to begin our adventures in Somerset. Stay tuned for our future adventures exploring the North Coast of Somerset.

We should be visiting Weston-super-Mare at the end of this month as we will be going close to Burnham the last of October so hopefully we can bring your hubby some nice memories. Stay warm! Loved your hat Dionne. Chris’s beanie was also a star of the show. Can’t wait to see more of Blue Anchor bay. We stayed on a temporary holiday site next to the big campsite a few years ago so will be interesting to see if anything’s changed. 🤗❤️
Thank you 😂 I think I have figured out the mic problems 😉. I wouldn't want to come here in high season and the pitches just about fit 6m but it's 19 pounds a night with access to pool and sauna, which we will do on a rainy day 😂. We've been taking advantage of good weather and getting a bit further afield the last few days. Love it here so far! Xx
