Can't believe I learnt Joy had been discontinued from your video. I'm gutted, that's a huge loss - especially considering it was made in response to the crash of '29 and made it through the Depression. And the state of Guerlain's perfume offering is grim - trying to find Jicky in parfum concentration is impossible, despite the fact they get to lay claim to having the oldest perfume in continuous production (it came out in 1899!) My favourite perfume formerly worn by a fashion icon would be Bandit by Robert Piguet, which was worn by Marlene Dietrich. It's certainly not for everyone and unfortunately very hard to find in Australia where I live, but I love, love, love it. There's nothing ive smelt that even comes close to it.
oh I want to try Bandit now ! And I have read that Jicky was worn by Brigitte Bardot. I recently tried it and loved it 😊 I wonder if Chanel had anything to do with Joy being discontinued since these two have been competitors for decades 👀

Another one from them is Fracas, which counts Marylin Monroe, Madonna, Courtney Love and even Martha Stewart as fans. It was made by the same nose who made Bandit and it's considered the reference tuberose perfume. And Jicky is a fun one. It's not sweet or floral but it is lovely. It's extremely unisex too.
This was really interesting. I love perfumes, but I can rarely afford them. Especially not luxury perfumes. I think you described the scents very well and gave a really good impression of them. Thank you!
