Kim, you just witnessed and experienced a prime example of Good Ole Boy's Club. Where they give the job to one of their cronies, no matter if they are qualified for the job or not. Women in management or higher positions often fall victim to it 😢 Then they do what happened to you. After they tell you sorry, they offer what they think is a prize bone 😂 And then they are shocked when you turn it down because they can't understand why in the world you wouldn't be thrilled to accept it and take advantage of what they're offering! Here they're offering you this big chance and you are saying no! Whatever is wrong with you, little lady, I'm doing you a huge favor! 😂😂 I've seen and heard it so many times from women. I'm sorry it's happened to you. And you're right, the best move you can make at this moment is to look for another position because they won't let you out of that one and if you take what they are offering you for the 4 months they'll expect more from you than they would a man in that position and if you don't come through with what they expect, they'll make your job hell. If I were you and that "man" wants to know why you're saying no, I would point out that you have been a manager, a DM, etc and are more than qualified for that job and since he thinks you aren't ready for it, you're going to look somewhere that thinks you are. I hope you've come to the conclusion that this position wasn't the right one for you, especially with him as your boss. God has a better position out there for you. Keep your eyes on Him to show you where and what it is. Try not to stew over it anymore. It's not worth it. I'm here if you want to talk.
It sounds sexist and hopefully, when you're on your way out the door, you can tell him so -- not that it will make him see the light or anything. Also, I would consider making a counter offer. If they can come up to something you could temporarily agree with, you can put the "promotion" on your resume and make some more money while you are looking for other work. You could tell prospective employers that your reason for leaving is that you are on a temporary contract and are looking for something permanent. It's positive and understandable. You are in charge of you. Not him. Make lemonade.

So I am considering doing it till I get something else . The funny part is before I transfer to the Orlando FL location I was a vision center manager. So he was just wrong 😑 all the way around. I kinda feel like it more because of being older .
