Her reasoning is that she wanted to make herself look good for Yuji, but after Yuji recognized her right away, it showed her that looks never really mattered to Yuji, so before she can confess her feelings, she needed to learn to love herself first.
I mean yuji would’ve rejected her anyway, so it’s better that she didn’t. 🥲
I really like it in anime when the trio or group all decide to share a same brain and express their thoughts with little dialog, it's pretty funny especially in this one.

Idk what kind of friends you had, but the town I live in has jack shit for things to do, so my friend group made our best memories playing our favorite games on Discord. Plus, one of us moved out-of-state before high school, more incentive for us to spend our time with each other online, so our bud was still included as much as possible. Online time was enough for all of us, and we all agreed on that based on how many times our parents told us to shut up bc of how loud we were. So just because I wasn’t part of a group who didn’t always meet each other in person, does NOT mean I didn’t have friends at all. It’s called “circumstances”. Google it.
