Peek Inside an Eclectic Home That Elegantly Blends Finishes

Tired of the dated look and feel of their Overland Park, Kansas, home, this couple hired designer Stephanie Stroud to help them add functional elements and create an eclectic style that felt current. For the kitchen, Stroud, who uses Houzz Pro business software to manage her projects, took the room down to the studs and moved walls to gain more space and storage. She then blended elegant white cabinets and a warm walnut island with marble and soapstone countertops, a marble slab backsplash and mixed metal finishes for a timeless, collected style. I love the way that every room has its own identity, yet together they somehow fuse👍🏻❤️ I wish. Though, that the oven would sit flush. But that’s probably just my OCD🤷‍♂️

Great kitchen! Bigger budgets bring bespoke beauty. I'd wire the walnut lined cabinet with separate switches for over the counter marble, then use the upper only as the best nightlight.
The music room console is like an instrument playing to the painting. Is the piano banded in mother-of-pearl all the way around?
