This is one of my favorite videos on the entire internet. The fact that Neil looks so unfathomably stoned and just as unfathomably happy doing what he loves - is a sight. It’s that stare in sky that gets me.
Seen this before. Genius comes in many guises. So it came to Neil while he was off his head, still a momentous moment that became 'Harvest' the Album. I was given an audio tape to record some Hendrix on by a friend when I was 14 or so in the early 90's. I decided to listen to what was already on the tape and it was a good decision. Whilst lying in bed hearing the songs on a shitty Walkman my mind was blown away for how raw and honest the songs came across - little did I know how relatable they would be over the next 30+ years. I will definitely listen to the Album in it's entirety tomorrow. Thanks Neil
Harvest is the first album I ever heard and out on the weekend is like the first song I can remember from my early life. It's always meant many things to me and invokes alot of different feelings. It's very cool and weird to see it sketched out in a whimsical improv moment where he pretty much wrote the entire song in one take while laying on a couch possibly baked as hell. I feel like I'm having one of those "my life is a lie" moments if I am being honest...
Don’t feel cheated. Music flows through artists at many different speeds. There are masterpieces written in 20 minutes and also masterpieces that artist sit on for years before they perfect it. It’s a beautiful thing that there are no rules to creativity.
I honestly prefer to listen to this version, I love that you can see how much fun he’s having and the banjitar/pace really add a cool element to the song
I have never seen so much footage of NY smiling. I agree with @KamiKaze: this is a huge pleasure to watch. Hopefully it comes out officially in full form.
@@fabiuliano4023 He's super stoned yes, but he's totally digging that new fake banjo of his. "I feel like the Beverly Hillbillies!" You can tell he's digging the sound and vibe the "banjo" brings and sometimes a new sound is all it takes to spark inspiration. Its a wonderful moment of bliss caught on film. Wish I could've been there!
This video should be prescribed to depressed individuals and let me know how it makes em feel just for even a second i doubt you can get through Neil’s pure love for life and music how could you be down?
I read in shakey that it was a Dutch documentary crew who came to his ranch in California to film for a bit - just his day to day life it seems. The book also mentions he was hanging out with Louie Avilla at the time.

His back was screwed up.

I want to know the backstory of this clip.. what was this for? Where is it filmed, and what for, who was there, etc. Let me know if you know anything!

I believe this is from a German TV documentary, circa 1970.

This is the same "free loving open minded hippy" that took his music off spotify because joe rogan interviews people
Yeah, the same one who believes in personal agency and excercises it.
Hope that makes sense, mate.
