Thanks for just telling it straight forward, and not adding what you like for breakfast, favorite color, and totally useless BS filler as you go. Video was very helpful, and pleasant. Thanks, Thanks, Thanks!
Thank you for watching the video, and I appreciate the feedback! I try to make these videos as straightforward as possible so that they actually help people. What year of Tundra do you own?
As a Female Tundra (21) owner I want to thank you for making this video. Simple easy and carefully will be changing my bulbs ASAP. My daily driving truck and living out in the country I need bright high beams and the original ones just ain’t enough. Thanks great video 🎉
Hey! Thanks for subscribing and for checking out the video. I'm glad that it was helpful. I know what you mean about the halogens bulbs - they just ain't enough! I find LED bulbs to be far superior. They throw light farther and brighter. Have fun with the bulb swap!
Hey, thank you for checking out the video. As you can see from all of the steps laid out in this video, it is not possible to access the main bulbs through the fender. The headlight housings must be removed in order to change out the bulbs. The fog lamps can be accessed from the fenders, but the main bulbs cannot. Luckily, the steps in this video are VERY easy to follow, and you should have no problem changing the bulbs. I hope that helps.
I just watched another video. You can actually just unclip the fog light from the front. Put your hand in to release the harness and just take it off I guess if you have big hands like I do I probably couldn't get my hand to do that. But my question is, have you ever tried amber lights for your fog lights?
It's good that there's more than one way to do it. Lighting is such a subjective thing ... I can understand how other people like the amber lights on their truck, but it's not for me. Thanks for checking out the video.
@@toyotaFANatic81 Hey man All good ! I was just thinking for functionality Amber lights for shat weather for the prairies. With the Platinum trim, the front and rear bumpers are already color-matched, so I don't get any credit for that. I did black-out the grille and badges, and color-matched the door handles. I did have a video on the blacking-out and color-matching, but it was shot so poorly that I pulled it. I will be making another one later this year. I am replacing the headlight bulbs for leds but I am leaving the blinkers and the side markers incandescent. Will that have any effect on the leds? Thanks!
At first, I only replaced the main halogen headlight bulbs with LEDS. I left the signal lights and the side markers as non-LEDs. I had no issues at all. Now, my side markers are LEDs, the signal lamps are still non-LED. I hope that helps.
The housing looked very loose on the fog light when you " very gently "😊 put the new lamp back in. Are your FL loose or bouncy when you go down the road in the morng?? If so , do you know a fix???
Someone actually noticed!!! Yes, it was loose on the driver's side (the passenger side was much sturdier). It was like that when I bought the truck used. I believe the previous owner may have damaged it or striped the threads where one of the screws should go. Luckily, the housings do not move or bounce during operation of the vehicle and the fog lamps themselves are problem-free. Thanks for checking out the video!!! I hope that it was helpful.
Thanks for that. I bought LED bulbs, thinking it would be easy to pull out the old and put in the new, only to realize that I had to take out the entire headlight pod to change them. I was a little intimidated, but watching just a part of your video put my mind at ease. I went at it, and had the install done in no time! Thanks for the help!
Thanks for visiting the channel. Changing the headlight bulbs does not apply to your truck, but MOST of what I have done to my truck CAN still be relevant to yours. 2nd generation Tundras run from 2007 to 2021 - same frame, same drivetrain, same stock exhaust system, same braking system, practically the same suspension, etc. 2022 Tundras (3rd gens) are the ones that are different from our trucks. Thanks for supporting the channel! 👍🏾
My headlights also adjust in height. There's a small motor that handles that, and it has nothing to do with the bulb itself, so there should not be any extra steps involved.
Quick question. I have a 2015 Tundra. I need to change a headlight. I have watched a couple of videos and they say that once the front grill is loose, I have to reach behind it to snap a tab on each side in order to pull out the grill. I noticed that you didn't do that in your video. Do you know what tabs they are referring to? I would appreciate any help.
It doesn't look like the fender flares are scratching the paint under them. Usually you see a line where it is wearing on the truck paint. Did you do anything extra to protect the paint? Do you remove them periodically to check and clean under them?
How have these held up for you? I’m looking for something brighter than stock but don’t want to break the bank on a whole new housing. If these Auxitos are still going strong I’ll probably get those. Thank you!
Thank yoouuuu. I don’t really work on my own vehicles and was intimidated. I watched your video while I did it and it was super easy. I appreciate these DIY videos
It's hard to answer this question without actually seeing what happened. I've never had an issue with the fog lamp housings. The housings are solid plastic, and they don't usually bend (they break). So if it's not housing itself that's wonky, it's probably the part of the bumper that the housing screws into that is bent. Did you take the housings out in order to switch out the bulbs? If so, did you do any prying or pulling to get them out?
Thanks for checking out the video. A few people have asked this. The type of bulb (halogen or LED) makes no difference to the job. The housings must be removed to change the bulbs. This job may seem intimidating because of the number of steps, but it is actually quite easy to do. I'd say give it a try. This video outlines the job step by step. I'm a little biased (of course), but my video is one of the more straightforward, clear, and concise videos that I've seen online for this job.
Great video - really helped me do this today and wasn't too bad! Def not a fan of having to go through all that though. My wife's highlander - you just pop the hood and have easy access. Still love my Tundra!
Thanks for checking out the video. The bulbs are Auxito brand. You'll find the details in the full modification list (in the description of the video).
The beam pattern will depend on the type of housing you have. I have aftermarket headlight housings that are black on the inside. This reduces the brightness and thus the beam pattern a little bit. If you're still running the OEM headlights housings with the silver lining on the inside, your beam pattern will probably be a little better than mine. The particular bulbs that I bought are from Auxito, but there are QUITE A FEW good brands available for LED bulbs. That's why I'm not repping that one brand alone. Go on Amazon, use the vehicle filter for your Tundra, and you will see a ton of bulbs to choose from (and reviews on them from other people who have purchased them).

I've noticed some reviews saying that they needed a decoder & some other stuff, did you need that for this? I have a 2016 SR5 and I'll need to replace the headlights soon so figured I'd change out the bulbs too. Thought about LED but wasn't sure.
Thanks for checking out the video. This is my second set of LED bulbs and I haven't needed any special equipment at all. The process has essentially been "plug & play." I am looking forward to do this but the manual wants me to access them by removing the mud guards, no need to take the grill I guess I will save this video and see
Accessing the headlight housings through the fender liners would be an interesting way to do it. Hopefully, the wheels and tires don't get in your way as you're taking off the liner. You can access the fog lamps from the fender, but getting to the main headlight housings would be a lot tougher from the fender. I think that this job intimidates people because there are a few steps, but it's actually quite easy. This video provides you with a step-by-step guide on how to do it effectively.
It is easy to scratch, when I replaced my headlights with OEM LED, I broke the top tab 😞, so again, your right be very careful, and, as always, TRUCK LOOKS GREAT 👍
The only thing u should do, and hopefully u already did the next video if u gonna send the link, if lot. Do a video of how it looks the beam pattern. Those Auxito - M3 H4 are the best for reflector headlights because they use the ZES led chips that mimics the same beam pattern better than stock and better than ur previous sealight fanless led bulbs. A much better more refined all in one style that shape exactly like a H4 halogen bulbs. And the Auxito - B3F fanless led bulbs all in one is much better quality and again, a much simpler and refined bulb. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 those are worth the money more than sealight.

Like I told someone else in the comments, if you were to do this job on an F-150, it would take twice as long ... and depending on the year of the F-150, you may have to remove the front bumper to get at the headlight housings. This is an EASY job. Yes, it requires a few steps, but it's not complicated.

What kinds of plans do you have for your Tundra?
Thank you so much for the helpful video. It made doing this a breeze.
My pleasure! Thank you for watching the video and supporting the channel!
Im stuck on the grill part
Are you stuck on removing the bolts from the grille, or pulling the grille off of the truck?
Awesome video thanks. Not sure why they dont make it easier🤣
Thank for this!

Awesomeness... Thank you for your time and help..👍💪
My pleasure!
Swapped mine out last year. Still getting compliments on the Carven exhaust 👌
Nice work!!!
Honestly, the Carvens were one of the most SATISFYING modifications!!! I'll never go back to a stock muffler ... until I'm 80 years old.
@toyotaFANatic81 everywhere I go I get asked about it👌
@@jeffmerz3595 I know what you mean!
Thanks man! I needed this
My pleasure!
I'm glad that it was helpful.
Nice setup #tundra gang 💪🏾
Thanks, Man!!! 👊🏾
Great Video! Nice Truck! I bought the same bulbs on Amazon and I’m replacing my halogen bulbs this weekend…Tundra Limited Crewmax 2017
Thanks, man! I appreciate that. I hope the video is helpful as you change out those bulbs!
Great instructional video. Tackling both fog lights this weekend on my 2015 Tundra TSS so thank you for you help. I also just followed you & appreciate your videos. BTW, cool looking Tundra you got there.
Thanks for the positive feedback. I'm glad that the video was helpful and I hope the job went smoothly for you!
Thank you for subscribing, as well. That's a HUGE help for this channel!!!
Thank you sir !!
Thanks for the great video!!!!
My pleasure! I'm glad that it was helpful.
I went back to toyota because i knew them to be simple and easy. What a pain in the ass bro. I just bought a 2016 tundra
Like I told someone else in the comments, if you were to do this job on an F-150, it would take twice as long ... and depending on the year of the F-150, you may have to remove the front bumper to get at the headlight housings.
This is an EASY job. Yes, it requires a few steps, but it's not complicated.
@@toyotaFANatic81 I completely understand what you mean. I just miss the simple days where stuff was right there. In and out. I do absolutely love my tundra, it actually looks a lot like yours all jacked up with sweet wheels and tires. Thanks for the video good sir.
You're not wrong. Most vehicles were easier to work on in the past.
I know what you mean about loving your Tundra. They're GREAT trucks!
Thanks for supporting the channel.
HELLO HATERS!!!! Awesome start brother!
🤣🤣🤣 Thanks, man!!!
Thank you! 👏🏻👊🏻
My pleasure!!!
No hate here. Just what I’m looking for
Housing
It's hard to answer this question without actually seeing what happened. I've never had an issue with the fog lamp housings.
The housings are solid plastic, and they don't usually bend (they break). So if it's not housing itself that's wonky, it's probably the part of the bumper that the housing screws into that is bent.
Did you take the housings out in order to switch out the bulbs? If so, did you do any prying or pulling to get them out?
Truck is sexy too!
Thanks, Justin!!! 👊🏾
All that work for a simple bulb. LOL why Toyota why?
It's twice as much work with a Ford F-150. You even have to remove the bumper to get at the headlight housings on a Ford. The Toyota is EASY.
Anyway, thanks for watching. I hope the video was humorous, at the least.
