It took me a ton of seasons to realize I was playing this game for the potential of it becoming something more in the future, and then that never came.
i’m a halo girlie that played in FPL and switched to apex at launch. def one of the most abusive relationships, i love this game sm, i love mastering wattson, but EA tarnished that original respawn dev team and their vision now every aspect of the game has problems, even their game design honestly it makes me cry
Agreed ever since I built my first PC in season 7/8 I mained this game for 2k hours(not much but I work) and not being able to play on a server that runs good makes me disappointed, hopefully they will invest more in the future but for now I'll play somewhere else 😢
Yeah, I started playing on switch and about 1100 hours (school and parents) and I get more and more issues and crashes and it sucks because I love the movement.
the game is too complicated for a new player to get all the legends it takes more than 300 levels which takes around like minimum 200-300 hours as someone who wants to play with friends all my friends quit because it was "too complex" too many maps, gun, and legends, making it a big turn off making them leave before the 40 hour mark of playing. (remember when level 100 was a flex?)
On paper, no, it's not that complicated, but so much about the game is so niche that it does become complex for newbies. It's different from your standard hero shooter, so fans of that have a learning curve. It's also different from your standard battle royal, so they'll have a weird time. The mechanics (especially the movement) are also pretty unique and unless you've played Titanfall, that's yet another learning curve. Edit: This comment a reply to bigwillicus. Idk why it didn't tag them.
Servers, tic rate, constant unneeded nerfs and buffs, characters and features that are ignored, bad map changes, poor skins and prices. Last decent season had to be like seven everything after that went downhill
@@mrs_reid5624what I hated is that the nerfs were 💯 catered to the 1% of the player base. If 1% of your player base leave, you still have a game on going. If 99% leave, you're shutting down the servers.
Great video summing up all of the issues the game has. To touch more on the server issues, when i play this game i play with a friend who lives in the middle east and more often than not the servers will kick him out of the game while we’re matchmaking and it makes it impossible to play ranked because of the leaving penalty which is still applied to him even though its respawns fault.
At the peak off the server issues I've literally deranked because of the game kicking me out. It felt aggravating being punished by respawn for an issue caused by respawn.
I played this game for YEARS and had to quit recently here's why: I usually make it to Diamond in rank, but this season I kept getting into rank games in Platinum where the game would lag so badly that I couldn't pick my legend, see which legends my teammates picked, see the enemy before they shot me, use replicators, etc. I could move and that would be about it. So, I'm losing 55 R P every time this happened, and if I quit the game I got the penalty for that. Respawn has the worst servers in the industry. THE WORST. Not just out of BRs but in the ENTIRE GAMING INDUSTRY. 20 tick servers are a slap in the face for anyone who plays this game. It's inexcusable. I simply can't devote my time and money anymore to a game where the makers of the game aren't doing the same thing. It's so sad because it really is the best FPS game ever made, but it is being ruined by the worst company in the industry.
There's no casual player base. As it stands, their model is designed to encourage "career" players, but consequently pushes away casual players. You're either a sweat or a temporary player. Without investing in fun/casual play, they're losing out on a massive number of players that would otherwise stick around longer.
I also feel like the game would do well with a new alternative gamemode. The design, worldbuilding, the gameplay, they feel more suited for an arena shooter or something, which imo works better for the team-based hero shooter angle. They could also consider reworking the Battle Royale mode. The BR as it is right now gives some players the wrong impression that they must aim to become "champion" rather than generally play well. That's what made tournaments entertaining, the point system. Those LTMs they have in rotation are pretty fun and should honestly be permanently available.
Cool video! It's funny you said season 8/9/10 is when it went bad because that's around when I slowed down on apex. I (and my squad to an extent) played apex literally every day season 1 - 9/10 ish. Now I play once a week? I also used to follow the old lore (again season 1 - 9 ish), now it's all just lame comic shit I don't know anything that goes on Town takeovers were sick. I remember them being so hype and how the devs would put under construction signs at certain locations and i loved seeing the ways they could add attributes about a cgaracter to a location (caustics gas, octanes jump pads, the big crypto scanner, fight night) but now it seems like takeovers are few and far between and when they do show up its something lame like a little circle that heals you when you stand in it. (Poor lifeline)
Hot damn. Thanks for helping us process the loss. One of the things that always bugged me was the weak follow-up support for game modes. I used to love mixtape, but there aren't enough new maps. I used to love Arenas, but the competitive playlist was rotting. All in all, well said.
I almost cried watching this video. I spent around 7k hours in apex legends and haven't played since august... It's so sad to watch a game that you loved so much dying... But all these problems (servers, matchmaking, cheaters and all these stupid currencies etc) are really the reason. Also i hate that they removed all fun elements from the game (i miss train on World's Edge) because they wanted so hard it to be ESPORTS but failed with shitty servers and no investment in anti cheat.
@@tudum8739 I wrote this video with a lot of emotion behind it. I feel about as strongly as you do I surmise. I’m honored in a way that it did something. I appreciate hearing that. Onto better things I say.
yeah, i use to play every day but have only played the first 2 weeks of every season for the last while. there hasn't been enough new content other then skins in the past year. kill code was over a year ago, conduit was released 1 year ago like this week, latest weapon was the nemesis February 2023, last character specific heirloom was fuse over a year ago, the legend upgrades was 8 months (class rework was a year and a half). So we have received 2 legends (1 in 2024), 1 map, 1 map rework, and the perk system in the past year, so the drop from 470,000 players down to 145,000 on steam in the last 9 months isn't surprising. The lore ad the characters is what I loved about apex and we haven't really had any of that since kill code ended 11 months ago
TRUE! There is nothing left to believe cause they always lie to us. It feels like they don't know we are the costumers who keep the things going :/ Like... look at the "The finals" team! They go to youtube comments to see what the people want! They even reply!
As someone who plays The Finals calling the devs responsive is very rich. That game is turning into Apex 2.0, devs don't change obvious issues or they'll change something that never needed to be changed in the first place. They are quite out of touch with how the game plays.
I have 1735 hours on this game and still no heirloom😭. Ik ima get one eventually but this game isn’t fun fr to grind for that seriously anymore. I genuinely tried to see it through but DBZ sparking zero is hitting rn.
I just want to say that this is a very good video! Your analysis is amazing, the quality is amazing (both video and audio quality), the structure of the video is great, your voice is soothing and it's overall a great video. I didn't even know I was watching a small-ish channel's video, but you just earned a subscriber. Good job! Keep going❤
I started playing March of 2023 and I still enjoy the game today.... But ill admit im very confused because i read a post a cpl months back that Apex made 1.3 Billion in profits, What are they doing with all that money? because it doesn't seem like they are investing into the growth of the game, For example last xmas they didn't do anything special besides release some old xmas skins in the shop.
The fact that they are also not expanding on the story aspect as much as i want them too... Apex / Titanfall has such a great lore that i believe they something like a Netflix series for.
I think what made apex so great for a lot of people is that its the middle ground between quake and something like battlefield. Twitch shooter, but not so twitch shooter that you'd need to be a god at tracking
Amazing video! Ive played apex for a long time. Its the best shooter ive personally seen but one thing that ruins it? Matchmaking. This game gives level 2's and the highest ranked players in one pubs match. I mainly play mixtape now. Its more casual. But still, i love apex. Just make it more fair! 🙌 great job on the video tho! Keep up the awesome stuff!
8:12 Crypto's sister was mentioned last year during the Kill Code event, as she was working for Octane's dad to surveil the Legends. She collaborated with Crypto secretly by allowing him to decode the data drive they retrieved. Just dropping that missing tidbit, as the point still stands it's been over a year yet again with no development of the lore in this regard. Starving for story and they refuse to tie up loose threads.
One thing that would appeal to the casual players would be making like a warframe type mode where we do co op missions against AI within the titanfall universe with lore in different new maps.
Honestly, even if they released titanfall 3 right now, and it's got the best movement of all time. It wont stop respawn from attempting to overly monetize it. I quit apex after seer's season. The match making was already miserable, and I tried to no life the game, but I would still get into lobbies of pred stacks, with teammates who seemingly have never even learned how to wall bounce. The game evolved beyond me, got too sweaty. Sweats got sick of ranked, and took their full stacks into pubs and ruin my matches for upwards of 13 games in a row. It was awful.
It was good while it lasted. The memories of Apex will stay with me and my friends even when we don't play the game anymore. I spent over 3 years on this game expecting they will improve the game bit by bit keeping my hopes up but that never happened. Sure there were some awesome additions to the game like 3 Strikes or Storm Point as a map but issues were larger than what was good about the game. This just makes me sad that's all I can say.🙁
5 years I state again 5 years. Do you even know how long that is in gaming. Apex didn't just fill it's potential it grew and survived longer than anyone could have imagined when it launched. It's a great game and it's still free to play. Well done respawn you are awesome for giving me 5 years of friendships ,fun and excitement. Imagine complaining about a free to play game.....sheeeeeesh I think the moment and gun play are so good you have forgotten what you have.
The intro to this video is me going over the things I love about the game including the shooting. No one is denying the game is good and what it accomplished for you. Glad it did that that’s great. But I believe you are downplaying my points because of this. As any game yes it evolved but look at where it devolved. How myself and other people in the comments have expressed ourselves. The points I made are later out and critique the game BEYOND The battle royale experience. But if you can’t acknowledge that that’s your proactive.
the game needs to rid itself of FOMO through making BPs available permanently, with most or all of the Apex Coins rewards removed (and the old BP system ofc). All event skins etc. should just be permanently available for AC in the store, or at least all obtainable through the crappy lootboxes/crafting mats. Ranked needs to be a single unified, permanent system (like in Counter-Strike) that gets subtly tweaked to actually make the ranks make some sense (not aware of the current state of this tbf, i dont really play ranked but my girlfriend will still match with people way out of her rank in gold). The rest of the game needs to go in maintenance mode for a while, lots of focus on bug fixing, matchmaking, performance and fighting cheaters for a good while. all Legends in a class need to be made available for new players (the legend tokens can just be removed) after they play a couple matches with pre-unlocked (2 per class, beginner friendly ones) legends in that class, so that they can familiarize with the concept of a class but also not have to deal with the unlock system. I think the game also needs an archive for anything to do with past lore, i.e. the comic stuff, story trailers, playable story events and such None of this will ever happen but a man can dream
As a developer i really don't get that we are still crying about "bad servers" in todays age. (and no i don't work on apex etc but do specialize in netcode optimizations and have had talks with ricklesaucer who is the one maintaining the netcode of apex). Talking from a purely technical standpoint comparing apex server issues with other BR games... who all suffer from the same goddamn issues. Warzone has sound issues and packet burst issues in every single game, thus their community is whining about tickrate and performance. PUBG has tick latency, sound and hit reg issues out the wazoo, thus the community wants better servers and tickrate (despite being a clientside authoritative game, meaning tickrate will not improve hit reg issues). FORTNITE has sound and lag issues constantly, thus the community wants better tickrate and better servers. And every single developer, especially developers dealing with netcode/network performance are sitting here shaking their damn heads because of how ignorant people are about packet rate limitations, bufferbloat and just overall instable connections in general (that all gets exacerbated by higher tickrates no less)... tickrate will not make this better, it will in fact make things worse for a large majority of people trying to play the game, or any game really. SO saying "just switch to another engine bro" shows how out of touch the average consumer of games really are about all of this as you have EXTREMELY modern engines being in use by their competitors.... and they all suffer the exact same issues. You can then look at contemporary games like valorant who are pushing 128tick (and quite frankly has the absolute best server infrastructure on the market)... and guess what, they have sound, bufferbloat and replication issues TOO despite being an over optimized and simplified game (in terms of serverside geometry, packet size etc.. it is an insanely light game because there is ZERO complexity to it)... and this is with 10 people on a server, not 60+ on a map that is quite literally 40-50x bigger with a ton of map entities that all require to be networked. And just to be perfectly clear.. it's f**** insulting having people with no understanding or background in game development or network engineering complain about this constantly and just trivializing the issues that stem from netcode/performance optimizations... we have been dealing with all of this for 25+ years and have made giant strides to it but have literally met a brick wall in terms of what we can actually do here.. we are limited by what is physically possible... and no, it's not all about bandwidth, throughput both on client and serverside (as in consumer isp, corporate infrastructure etc) is a lot more important here, you then have overall packet rates (that differ from one isp to another). And for all the talk about the skins and the cost of them... Yes, they are too damn expensive, yes EA are greedy... water is wet. EA has been doing this for well over 2 decades now and are and always have been entirely profit driven and have been called out on it the entire time and have not changed whatsoever 25 years down the road, so why are people surprised?.. Stop using their products or just play the game without feeling the need to get skins... Want to make an impact? DON'T BUY THEIR SHIT and in turn you don't feed into their bullshit. They are greedy.. every decision is made is based on a monetary incentive.. if no one buys, then they have to change... it's that simple... you can complain 24/7, but if people are buying nothing will change.. period. Hell, or just do what i did after pushing towards pred for several seasons and refuse to pay $20-100 dollars for some skins that might or might not be there a couple of years later.... and stop playing. If you are stuck complaining about the same things for 3+ years with no significant improvements in sight then it's probably time to ask yourself why you are still subjugating yourself to A GAME that only makes you frustrated, disappointed, sad etc... it's just not healthy.
@@pitchatan thank you for the insightful comment I think this video pretty much aludes as to why I am moving on from apex. You’re taking an understandable objective look which I appreciate however I have thoughts. Yes I’m aware switching to other engines won’t stop the problems had however is it not fair to assume that improving on the engine would improve the issues and make them less likely to happen? Even more so in the case of Respanwn the issue hasn’t been talked about for years until recently and I am left to believe this issue isn’t as prevalent in compared to other games. Also from a competitive level other games have higher tik rates. Apex wants to be a competitive game I think having the expectation for it to be better is valid as the game is worth a lot. It all comes down to this for me we know the game has been doing well in compared to other shooters in this genre why can’t they make that move. Why are developers leaving. I don’t think it’s as consumer v developer as you are making it out to be I believe it’s very nuanced case that comes down to the fact respawn cannot do much for this game at the end of the day.
A little addition information about the servers, Mande on stream said that they didn't restart their servers at all. Sure I'm not really understand how the network part work but as a consumer I don't really should give a shit about it, as all I just wanna a properly working product nothing more. And when you enter the game and you see EVERY TIME somebody couldn't load into game and SOMETIMES its half of the lobby in mixtape modes, you asking yourself HOW THE FUCK ARE THEY GOT PAID. I'm 1000% sure that Apex servers issues are the most extreme case scenario and you can try to justify it sure but I'm really confident about they don't care and don't wanna fix because its too much effort (no sure about this part maybe they desperately pathetic about don't do anything to help the situation) and no money involved. I'm playing this game for 3 seaons so I can't really speak how it was before, but Mande and some other pros admitted that servers situation some seasons before was way better than now.
Ah yes we are all ignorant because we aren't developers and don't understand the nuance. Yet there is 0 communication to the player base so of course people are confused and pissed off. No shit people don't know because we aren't all game devs but people are obviously going to complain and complain till they get an answer and a good answer at that. Sure games are free but if you want people to play your games you owe them the decency of keeping them atleast sort of in the loop. Don't want people complaining that your game is shit season after season? Be honest and tell them front and centre you just can't fix it, you'd get alot more patience and respect from the player bases then.
It’s funny this video popped up for me today. I played the game again after 3 years? And the first death I had the guy that killed me was a master and messaged me “kill check” lol. These players are so toxic and are happy about killing noobs. The casual match making definitely needs to be looked at. New players will immediately quit if these things happen
It's just time for something new. Apex is a game from the last decade. Shooters dont last forever. Cod comes out with a new one every year. Respawn created an amazing universe. Expand that universe, give us more. Give us titanfall
i told this to someone else as well.. I played Apex from Season 4 up until Season 21 I believe. I haven't played the game since December 2023 and then logged on once in August this year. But even today the only content I watch is yours and get all the updates and HOPE Apex makes a comeback, but it feels impossible day after day. Someone mentioned that, What IF Apex Legends was the child that EA never wanted? What if EA never counted on Apex’s success? I think that EA wanted to dip their toes into the BR genre back in 2018-2019 and thought it would die off in a couple years then they would have an excuse to shut down the game and Respawn the way they have done with a lot of other games and studios. But somehow the game got successful and the community got bigger. Over the years this community has given a lot to the company but I can't really say that we have received the same amount. Like if we remove the skins, cosmetics & maps the game hasn't really improved or updated that much. Let's be honest cosmetics and map changes are the Least you can expect from a Battle Royale game. Now over the years EA/Respawn has made around $4 Billion & the thing about live-service games is that they don’t make profits, they make revenues and then they put that money back into the game to improve it. Looking at the game’s state in 2024 compared to 2019, you can’t say that the company has invested billions into its development. I don't think much has changed except for the quality of skins but compared to how much money they ask for it. Even those skins are not good enough. Lets compare the game to Fortnite or Even PUBG. Now Fortnite is this behemoth of a game that has its own ecosystem and they can bring in anyone or anything into that game and it will work. You can look at that game and say that Epic has invested billions of dollars into the game, not to mention their engine upgrade. Even Valorant is switching to Unreal Engine 5. PUBG is one of the oldest BR we have, it is like the granddaddy of BR. One of the most BASIC Battle Royale out there. Even that game has made some significant changes given how simple it is. Yet it always holds the top 3 position in player count. The gameplay, the visual changes & even the competitive scene is good. Not to mention the crossover events with Suicide Squad, Resident Evil 2, and Mission: Impossible Fallout, to create limited-time events and cosmetic items. The last time I remember Apex doing something different and taking risks was back in Season 5 with lore about Loba & Revenant. The PvE event & missions, it was fun and creative. Even the events we had when Ash was coming out, that was fun. Since then we didn’t get anything other than Final Fantasy collab and Death box skins. It is sad to see the downfall of the game that we all loved for a long time. But I think they deserve it. Hate to see all the players and pros leaving, the talks of orgs backing out of ALGS and players not getting paid after comp. They are not getting away with such things anymore and it will end in both Apex Legends and Respawn Shutting down.
I think you echo alot of points that i talked about .. honestly GREAT VIDEO. i can sense that you are not kissing EA/Respawn's butt like every other big creator
@@swapnilm.parmar7280 I mean right back at ya this is a really well structured I really appreciate these. You go through things very well. I didn’t mention a lot of these things you say here as it felt like I would’ve been echoing the same things over and over so I appreciate you putting it here. And is very validating to see other people feel the same way. For me it’s on to better things this video has helped me “let go” in a way.
@@berice4390 I believe it. I have definitely moved on to MMOs like The First Descendant & Throne And Liberty, trying to finish my gaming backlog. I think we all played Apex for the longest time hoping it would get better and reach it's full potential but i guess after almost 5 years we have no more expectations from Respawn/EA.
I don't play Apex but I feel this for Overwatch since I've been playing that game since 2016 open beta. OW2 became a skin simulator. Every update they've done adds more monetization options and the events no longer give out skin rewards, just sprays, namecards, and souvenirs. Overwatch 2 had their anniversary event, it was super lame. No dance emotes for new heroes, no anniversary shop to spend legacy credits from last anniversary, and recycled contents. It just didn't feel like a celebration. For what the product is from Overwatch 2, it's a disappointment because the IP has so much potential.
Season 8 was my intro to apex. Why? Because it was the season it came on the Switch i loved it (just because i was bored of Fortnite and sick of the building Mechanics). I was a day one Switch player and now i am on a better console i thought that S18 and S19 hell even S15 were low points but this is a all new level. Currently i am playing less and less main game i play now is Space Marine 2 i am just waiting for it to get better. I am not even going into a match, not even Mixtape. Just spend time in the range trying to improve.
As a 25+ year professional in the psychology field, I warned about the likely negative ramifications of the FTP movement well over a decade ago, to no avail. EA hires unscrupulous folks from my field to do exactly what they are knowingly doing. I would love to have games that are treated like games, but alas, shareholders.
The best thing about Apex is its high skill ceiling. If you choose to be an up passionate looser who never chooses to improve in life this game reflects it so damn hard back in your face. But if you are willing to better yourself and constantly improve this game will reward you with feeling like a god most of the time. Plain and simple Apex is whatever you choose to get out of it. Sadly most will choose mediocrity and complain saying its the game or devs or teammates fault for their skill issues
@@iiTzXDXDXD where did I say this? If you are referring to me. I said the skill ceiling is high but I didn’t take it as a bad thing. My main points of issue is things like server issues, hackers, poor monetization practices. Lack of communication. What would all of that have to do in regards to “skill issues”
@@berice4390What are you on about? I never directly said anything about you specifically😂 The video is an opinion piece about Apex and I was sharing my opinion on what I think makes this game great and why the player base, in my opinion, is actually the one that will never reach its full potential. Based on your insecure comment I could refer to you about a lot of things but I think you already pointed out your insecurities so thanks for saving my time😉
The biggest L of apex is they do not do LGBT characters well at ALL They straight up make it one of the characters major personality traits, which is funny since they did it really well with gibby previously
@@judgement7279 I mean sure…? I feel like if I’m going to be talking about the game so extensively I need to “prove” that I know what I’m talking about? To establish a foundation, a connection to better help the viewersunderstand where I’m coming from. Also that’s what the timestamps are for
Really cool vid, one thing that's also worth noting is their tendency to cater to the very niche professional side of the game by making changes to suit these players instead of the casual audience. For example the aa nerf that hit the game some months ago, i believe, although it is a quite fiery take, that it was done entirely to cater to the eSports players who complained about it while disregarding the "normal" "everyday joe" players, especially since it made the experience worse for said casual players as you can't be as casual anymore especially with the horrible matchmaking while making no difference for the pros. Not to mention that they didn't apply that "standart" to console, seeing PC players as some worthy sacrifice to calm down the top 0.7%. The tendency also bleeds out on legends being changed for the same reason as seen with Bangalore getting HUGE ability nerfs and smoke changes despite her being probably the most balanced legend in the game. The game should legit like fortnite in a way, letting the casuals have fun, with their easy kills and wins for the dopamine rush to keep them hooked while also having a pretty high skill ceiling. I don't think it's far fetched to say that if the game had that balance where you can have a game with 8kills and some cool moments thinking you did something incredible just for a friend to tell you that you're barely getting the bottom players and bots it would be WAY more attractive to people with a life and daily occupations that don't have time or the energy to go "aim train" or "learn the movement". The long sentence for that feeling would be: the game is conflicted between being a casual experience like Fortnite/CoD that attracts players (with ingame events and special game modes) and a hyper competitive one like CS leaving in that weird and hostile feeling for the player where the game doesn't want you buuuuut... (Ex: WANTS TO BE COMPETITIVE BUT; the servers a horrible, the server ticks are the lowest possible, doesn't apply comp only changes like legend/gun bans etc. WANTS TO BE CASUAL BUT; has a horribly hostile matchmaking, is insanely "grindy" taking up to lvl 300 to unlock all the legends, has a horrible battle pass that tries to force you to play not because it's fun (like Fortnite again) but because you paid for it so you better get them levels or no reward, things that should be only on comp infects the normal gameplay, has a confusing and beginner-hostile gameplay etc.)
It’s ironic that you say that bc I quit Apex bc I’m sick of fighting aim assist. You can only bash your head against an unmovable wall so many times, you can fight but you can never win the war. That’s what being an MnK player in an AA dominated game is. Fighting til you give up
@berice4390 the rumor was Netflix wanted to make it a show. Kinda hope they don't do it. But I do miss the cinematic lore they used to give every season/event
I think you missed the point of movement in apex. It's not just movement tech, it's the feel in general, everything is smooth, running, sliding, jumping, just the basics are 1000000x better than any shooter game, as well as the legends movement abilities. 95% of player do not use any fancy movement tech, but still love the basic movement.
I think I perhaps glossed over the basic movement a bit. However i said that movement is the skill gap, in the beginning of the video I talk about how the movement and gameplay genuinely feels and left it at that. 1) everyone should know the game feels good of course 2) movement tech is perhaps how I should’ve worded it but I think the it doesn’t discredit anything I said about it being a major skill gap of the game as a whole. And definitely influences how much a player enjoys a game
@@ON1KUMA thanks man I’ve been trying different things lately with how I make these videos so glad it’s working out and seeing new people appreciate it.

from the pc perspective i really feel like the cheater problem is overexaggerated, between me and all my friends playing this game we've run into cheaters maybe 1-2 times in the past yea
@@loopswrld I mean pros are leaving, dedicated, day 1 content creators like Zeus has left due to these cheaters granted yeah it’s very much a layered situation but the evidence is there
Respawn should just cut their losses while they're ahead, Apex has been on a downward spiral since its start and they should give us a game the community actually wants... TITANFALL 3 ❤🎉😮😢😅
Originally the only battle royale I'd touch, now a lazy money hungry mess. I have other games (The Finals and Helldivers 2), but I do somewhat miss Apex, even if just for the Titanfall vibes
People keep refusing to accept that apex is now made for dedicated and competitive players. I get that people are upset with it but unless you make lobbies with low level ai like Fortnite that’s just how games will evolve. And if your teammates are always bad play with friends. Apex is not an easy game anymore and is not new player friendly, but so is counterstrike. The monetization is horrible, I’ll give you that, but that’s also what the game needs when catering to a much smaller audience.
@@houseofhank3896 if they want a bigger audience they need to improve the game. If they didn’t want a casual audience why make game modes like mixtape? Also in a competitive sense the game has had its issues a lot of pros have left because of those issues. Tick rate is also low for a competitive game there’s all these issues that affect both sides of the camp.
Nice video. I have been diamond is season 12 and 19, and master in 17 (like everyone i know) and currently try getting diamond in solo q. Made it til plat 1 but I am starting to ask my self what for. Too many hours wasted and nothing to show for it. Debating to quit everyday. Oh and biggest punch in the gut that u didn't even mention was the removal of divetrails and then adding purchasable ones... f u respawn.
There’s honestly SO much I could say but that would’ve made the video at least 2x longer lmao but yeah I had the same realization and that led to the making of this video.
I disagree, Apex has already reached it's full potential at some point for different people. For me it was season 0. Sure it has balance issues but Apex has had that every season for others it may have been season 17 or something else. But we can all agree Apex isn't at it's full today
I believe the early days were good. However with the issues I mentioned that is why I feel like this game will never top those days or truly feel like a proper stable in the genre The game is marketed to be a high quality battle royale and yet myself and others in comments have expressed why it may not be the case
Yeah we are in hell right now. From my perspective as a player who just started playing 3 seasons ago I would say updates in Apex is really good, they add new legends, modes, talents etc. But this is becoming nothing when it comes to game's core itself, they don't wanna/neglect to adress the audio issue and server issue. I've been playing Battlefield 4 back in the day and EA servers always been the worst nightmare you can imagine. Started playing Apex, oh boy I've had flashbacks. They make a X posts telling they aware of the situation and gotta fix it, and what we get next? Right we get Battlepass that people were complaining about, no servers fix, no audio fixes (even though they had brave to say in change log they did something its like spit in the face), no input based MM (I don't give a shit about your roller heads get the fuck away from this game, I don't mind if you gonna measure whos aimassist better but don't include MNK soldiers in it). So in colclusion they treat a wound but not trying to heal it, content is good but overall core of the game is rotten for who knows how long time. And also really 'helping' that Apex one of the most profitable game services in PS and maybe other platforms. I really love this game but hope its gonna die because this will be the end of my suffering as well ngl.
10:55 this MF has 1810 wins in A SINGLE season. Season 5 went from May 12 to August 18. Thats 99 days flat. That means. This guy. Got 18.3 wins A DAY. A DAY. Bro id be happy if i win 18 games in a season but a single day? an average game of apex is 10-15 minutes. Lets say 15 cause he obviously survives long. that means even if he won every single game in that season he ever got in he played minimum 4 and a half hours a day. 5 and a half if we factor in matchmaking alone. That means if you won every game you ever played over the course of the entire season youd still need to play 6 hrs a day to even approach beating this guys wins in a single season: fing HOW. (maybe there was some random ltm that allowed you to farm wins? idk)
@@berice4390 oh btw. I got every pass since season 3 console and moved to pc 4-last season. im not getting it anymore barely playing it now too. maybe if theres some better changes ill play more..
@@fadedlight8596yeah no totally I’ve been finding myself moving on to other games and that’s pretty much a point I alude to as to why the game just isn’t doing enough in regards to innovating.
its so funny [read: not] how they push up updates with bugs that 0.2 seconds of testing would show. last season they had wattson live with a tier 2 upgraed with fucked up text code on screen? this season her fast rez ability makes ur screen doa seizure inducing flip in the last few frames on animation? like is there NOBODY going in the firing range and having a single cursory glance at legends abilities before they launch??? not ONE??? its funny too ebcause if theres a shop bug it's pulled within HOURS, but wattsons upgrade text bug stayed even past the first patch to fix something else in the game a week or 2 into the split? its these little things that prove where resources are going in the company and what makes people hesitant to continue caring about the future of the game. like oh u cant even bother to fix something as simple as display text?
Don't forget that respawn implimented that you could respawn, truly groundbreaking
Honesty, that's what killed the fun entirely.

@ChristinaIsAGod it was a day 1 addition, so are you saying there was never fun ? Coz there was no apex before respawns.

It took me a ton of seasons to realize I was playing this game for the potential of it becoming something more in the future, and then that never came.

now every aspect of the game has problems, even their game design
honestly it makes me cry
Yeah this video for *Me* was more or less a sort of letter to write to help me accept this game will never change so I get that.
Agreed ever since I built my first PC in season 7/8 I mained this game for 2k hours(not much but I work) and not being able to play on a server that runs good makes me disappointed, hopefully they will invest more in the future but for now I'll play somewhere else 😢
Yeah, I started playing on switch and about 1100 hours (school and parents) and I get more and more issues and crashes and it sucks because I love the movement.
someone finally gets how fire watch dogs 2's ost is.
yesss sirrrr
There's dozens of us!
the game is too complicated for a new player to get all the legends it takes more than 300 levels which takes around like minimum 200-300 hours as someone who wants to play with friends all my friends quit because it was "too complex" too many maps, gun, and legends, making it a big turn off making them leave before the 40 hour mark of playing. (remember when level 100 was a flex?)
Yeah I forget about that a lot thanks for reminding me. Really bizarre so much of the roster is locked.
@@berice4390 you either pay $200 or play for 200 hours
Game is not complicated
On paper, no, it's not that complicated, but so much about the game is so niche that it does become complex for newbies.
It's different from your standard hero shooter, so fans of that have a learning curve.
It's also different from your standard battle royal, so they'll have a weird time.
The mechanics (especially the movement) are also pretty unique and unless you've played Titanfall, that's yet another learning curve.
Edit: This comment a reply to bigwillicus. Idk why it didn't tag them.
If it takes 300 levels for you to understand the game then ur just slow, it should take 100 levels at minimum
Former sweat, loved apex but way too many problems to put up with.
I still can't forgive them for abandoning Titanfall 2 for this game. Yes, I'm a boomer lol.
Even worse, they stopped making Titanfall 3 to focus on Apex.
Oh yeah respawn has actively disregarded that region for years I can understand just giving up on the game at point.
@@berice4390 yeah we play deep rock galactic now 😭
At the peak off the server issues I've literally deranked because of the game kicking me out.
They can never seem to get that right. With the way current matchmaking is unfortunately.
They could just make all gamemodes, Arena, duos, trios, quads, solos playable, and the playerbase would literally quadruple overnight.
great video man, i used to love apex and seeing this video after not playing for a year or so made me so sad to see what happened to Apex
Yeah this was like a letter appreciating what I loved and closing a chapter of gaming for me. Glad it resonated with you.
Cool video! It's funny you said season 8/9/10 is when it went bad because that's around when I slowed down on apex. I (and my squad to an extent) played apex literally every day season 1 - 9/10 ish.
Now I play once a week?
I also used to follow the old lore (again season 1 - 9 ish), now it's all just lame comic shit I don't know anything that goes on
Town takeovers were sick.
Kill code was good tho I forgot about it till just now

But all these problems (servers, matchmaking, cheaters and all these stupid currencies etc) are really the reason.
Also i hate that they removed all fun elements from the game (i miss train on World's Edge) because they wanted so hard it to be ESPORTS but failed with shitty servers and no investment in anti cheat.

yeah, i use to play every day but have only played the first 2 weeks of every season for the last while. there hasn't been enough new content other then skins in the past year. kill code was over a year ago, conduit was released 1 year ago like this week, latest weapon was the nemesis February 2023, last character specific heirloom was fuse over a year ago, the legend upgrades was 8 months (class rework was a year and a half).
Ahh apex..you were so fun to plau back in those days nothing but good memories
What made me stop playing was when i switched to pc and could not connect my ps4 which I had spent hundreds of hours on. At that point I just gave up
TRUE! There is nothing left to believe cause they always lie to us. It feels like they don't know we are the costumers who keep the things going :/
Like... look at the "The finals" team!

Asking the right questions
Spending on drugs, alcohol and yacht of course.
This video deserves to have a reaction by an apex dev

Amazing video! Ive played apex for a long time. Its the best shooter ive personally seen but one thing that ruins it? Matchmaking.

Yeah I get that with the current state of that studio it seems like they can’t reach ‘back to formula’ so to speak

I think the game also needs an archive for anything to do with past lore, i.e. the comic stuff, story trailers, playable story events and such
None of this will ever happen but a man can dream
Came for the captivating title. Liked for the WD2 OST
Bro knows ball
I ain't readin' allat! 😂
Titanfall 3 is the only thing I need from this world.
I thought Titanfall 3 isn't coming anymore? Saw a youtuberr make a video about it
Apex's existance sanitized all of the gritty and cool sci fi war theme and out of the TitanFall universe.
Go check out diesel knights

@@rosedade3182 never said it failed I said it won’t reach its full potential given its current state
@berice4390 Not the tone of this video just The death of Apex energy on RUclips is fabricated.
Oh yeah I can get behind that sentiment.
Apex players realizing they have been in a toxic relationship
Lmaooooo touché
They always knew
Season 8 was my intro to apex. Why? Because it was the season it came on the Switch i loved it (just because i was bored of Fortnite and sick of the building Mechanics). I was a day one Switch player and now i am on a better console i thought that S18 and S19 hell even S15 were low points but this is a all new level. Currently i am playing less and less main game i play now is Space Marine 2 i am just waiting for it to get better. I am not even going into a match, not even Mixtape. Just spend time in the range trying to improve.

The game is the most unique Royale that came out and has a dedicated fan base but even so they’ve done too little too late imo
As a 25+ year professional in the psychology field, I warned about the likely negative ramifications of the FTP movement well over a decade ago, to no avail.
EA hires unscrupulous folks from my field to do exactly what they are knowingly doing.
I would love to have games that are treated like games, but alas, shareholders.
i have given up all hope on titanfall 3 i just need to see apex suffer at this point
19:00 kendrick lamar?
Thanks for the informative video. Good job! :)
Appreciate it glad it was informative
Based on your insecure comment I could refer to you about a lot of things but I think you already pointed out your insecurities so thanks for saving my time😉
@@iiTzXDXDXDall good man I was just trying to understand where you were coming from
The biggest L of apex is they do not do LGBT characters well at ALL
They straight up make it one of the characters major personality traits, which is funny since they did it really well with gibby previously
That’s perhaps a fair point I can’t comment on that all to well but I think I see what you mean
Do you think a game like Farlight 84 could take some of the Apex players?
every video now have intro on five minutes telling you about things you already know if you clicked on this video
Yeah very well structured comment I appreciate this immensely. I believe the issues with competitive comes down to the games poor mechanics
It’s ironic that you say that bc I quit Apex bc I’m sick of fighting aim assist. You can only bash your head against an unmovable wall so many times, you can fight but you can never win the war. That’s what being an MnK player in an AA dominated game is. Fighting til you give up
I couldn't agree more with this video 1000%. Apex is now a money grabbing game. Netflix is making a show but will it be the same? Doubt it.
Think apex will never get a show
@berice4390 the rumor was Netflix wanted to make it a show. Kinda hope they don't do it. But I do miss the cinematic lore they used to give every season/event
Mfw EA gets their grubby hands on another wonderful game and drives it into the ground, this video was cathartic
1) everyone should know the game feels good of course
2) movement tech is perhaps how I should’ve worded it but I think the it doesn’t discredit anything I said about it being a major skill gap of the game as a whole. And definitely influences how much a player enjoys a game

from the pc perspective i really feel like the cheater problem is overexaggerated, between me and all my friends playing this game we've run into cheaters maybe 1-2 times in the past yea

Respawn: Good video, we're adding more transactions now.
Remember when the game came out and Respawn swore that EA was barely involved?
I’m still going to roll up a fat joint after work and play apex until I fall asleep 😴 ❤
#TeamApexLegends 😂
Respawn should just cut their losses while they're ahead, Apex has been on a downward spiral since its start and they should give us a game the community actually wants... TITANFALL 3 ❤🎉😮😢😅
Threw away Tf2 for apex legends and apex is declining in popularity as the seasons go by
Originally the only battle royale I'd touch, now a lazy money hungry mess. I have other games (The Finals and Helldivers 2), but I do somewhat miss Apex, even if just for the Titanfall vibes

good video
I still mad that EA treats Titanfall so badly
They made Titanfall 2 flop on purpose and instead of Titanfall 3 they gave us Gaypex Legends
APEX should learn from COD mobile, more content, game mode, gameplay, hell even they copied apex and still good.
They need to switch to unreal engine 5
I want them to rebuild the game from the ground up like square Enix did for final fantasy 7
That and then some
People keep refusing to accept that apex is now made for dedicated and competitive players.
Tick rate is also low for a competitive game there’s all these issues that affect both sides of the camp.
movement is fluid and that's good but it's way too fast, ttk is too long, it gets repetive real quick because it's just mindless run and gun.
However with the issues I mentioned that is why I feel like this game will never top those days or truly feel like a proper stable in the genre
The game is marketed to be a high quality battle royale and yet myself and others in comments have expressed why it may not be the case
For me Prime apex was either season 3 or season 7 for me. I had a blast in those seasons and they kept with the lore well
Yeah we are in hell right now.
That means if you won every game you ever played over the course of the entire season youd still need to play 6 hrs a day to even approach beating this guys wins in a single season:

its so funny [read: not] how they push up updates with bugs that 0.2 seconds of testing would show.
last season they had wattson live with a tier 2 upgraed with fucked up text code on screen? this season her fast rez ability makes ur screen doa seizure inducing flip in the last few frames on animation?
like is there NOBODY going in the firing range and having a single cursory glance at legends abilities before they launch??? not ONE??? its funny too ebcause if theres a shop bug it's pulled within HOURS, but wattsons upgrade text bug stayed even past the first patch to fix something else in the game a week or 2 into the split? its these little things that prove where resources are going in the company and what makes people hesitant to continue caring about the future of the game. like oh u cant even bother to fix something as simple as display text?
Oh yeah furthers my point of commitment to investors over players.
Apex Legends is still the beat BR
Why do you have the most random controller binds lol
I have buttons in the back
inb4 everyone calls it "woke" instead of holding EA accountable
