More info please. is this Howard's first experiment with Francis Xavier Gordon? What's the dating of writing and printing for this story? The Hyborean age Wanderings of Conan's precursors added hugely to the appeal of the black and white Marvel comic series. Were Gurkhas trending up in popular media? -- just searching for artifacts. Ps. Thank you for finding and producing some of Howard's lesser known, out of the way stories. :)
Agreed, despite the blatant racisme towards foreigners is the plot of the story very cool. I have something from the Weird Tales area I can give away to people who love these (so called) Pulp stories. I received it years ago from an American friend with the request me to spread it around. Drop me a line at rowief@tiscali.nl and You'll be pleasantly surprised. Everyone who dared to mail me were really glad they did. I promise it's not spam or advertisements nor Trojan-horse shit. It's just a gift from one Pulp-stories fan to another. Glad you liked the story and all the best from Holland.
Thank you for making these stories available. I had a chance to read this story once, about thirty years ago, and I haven't come across it again before now. :)
"My servant has no nose"
"How does he smell ?"
"Terrible !!" 😊
Haha...
spoiler for the ending: It was Michael Jackson.
I enjoyed the twist involving Ganra Singh-fear not, no spoilers for those who have yet to read this gem.
Great story. I bet the three had an easy time explaining the death scenario of Sir Thomas to the police and Scotland Yard.
Hahaha, you bet.
Cue the Voldy jokes :)
REH:
- loves the word “scintillant”
- does *not* like snakes.
...lol
Despite Howard's clunky attempts at misdirection, the twist is as obvious as...a missing nose!
Thank you!!
Thank you
Completed
