    This man is the very definition of ‘No fcks we’re given’😂 Great reading of one of my favorite stories btw man! And full respect to Clive for the great writing!
    Edit: This is the best passive-aggressive tale ever!

    Books of blood were my favourite books when I was really young, they really left an impression...this story was one of the best! Clive Barker has always been a storytelling god among men. This was an awesome narration, Thanks! 😁

    Fantastic job reading one the classics. I first read the The Books of Blood when they came out in the 80's, and they remain my absolute favorite collection of short stories as well. I re-read them every year or so and they still captivate me with their unparalleled tales. Barker is a genius, but hearing you recite this great story brought back one thing that annoyed me about this collection...his over use of the word "tattoo" when describing something repeatedly hitting something. I know it's a very minor thing but it always distracted me when I read these stories.
    I'm going to listen to your other recordings from the book, and I would really like to see you add a few more. I'm sure it's a lot of hard work for you, but you really did a fantastic job. Thanks.

    • @GregBlackmanMusic
      @GregBlackmanMusic  7 лет назад

      Thanks Coalhalo I appreciate that. A lot of work goes into them but I have a lot of love for these stories and while putting them together can be a bit of a slog listening back to them is still fun and clearly they give a lot of people a lot of enjoyment which is lovely.

      hahaa good call. I'd love to see that, with a motion captured Andy Serkiss as The Yattering.
      There is actually a bloody terrible TV adaptation out there already as part of some horror anthology series or other. It's deplorably bad but kind of fun if you know the source material well enough.

    I would love to see a new adaptation of this short story . There was an old one in a show called Tales of The Dark Side but the effects of the time are noticeable now. Maybe as a short film or a special with CGI for the Yattering.

      @@GregBlackmanMusic won’t say it’s bad , it’s a good adaptation but today it’s looks sort of cheap. The Yattering is a Little person painted red with horns , I know is supposed to be a comedy but it felt to campy . There is a graphic Novel that feel way more true to the book . I could see that beings used for a remake

    • @GregBlackmanMusic
      @GregBlackmanMusic  7 лет назад +1

      Greg Blackman
      Yeah. I liked that one also; they're all good. He has a beautiful prose style and brilliant imagination. There was another story in the Books of Blood I read recently I like too: 'The Inhuman Condition'. And of course his novella: 'The Hellbound Heart'. No one writes like him these days.

    • @GregBlackmanMusic

      Greg Blackman Yep. I think probably 'Imagica' was a turning point. The 'Scarlet Gospels' you reference I listened to here on RUclips. But it was a bit too fanciful, with the Devil and the mad citadel lunatic characters lol.
