Another great starter kit from Braintree. The degree of tempo flux is a matter of taste. Knowing how the ‘rubato’ is produced - from behind the curtain, as it were - makes it difficult to gauge the effect on ‘innocent’ ears. Even without the tempo manipulation, this a great intro to patching a other variable sweeps. As always, thank you!
This really IS helpful - the one thing I’d have added would be to actually show us the sequence you played so we could follow you along exactly. I know I can use my own sequences. So thank you for the time and effort- it really is appreciated!
Here's a hot tip: Get an expression pedal, plug it into the Matriarch in the back, then use the patch point to the right nearest the pedal plug in to patch it into the Rate/DIV In patch point in the Arp/Seq section. This gives real-time control of the Arp/Seq rate without having to mess with the rate knob on the front of the panel.
I may never be able to afford a matriarch but it is my number one favorite synth and I love watching your videos. You were an instant subscribe!! Thank you for the content!!
Yeah! Those are a lot to digest... Have you started experimenting with patching them together?! (To start - try running one of them through the Matriarch delay!)
Reminds me of Max Richter. Very cool!
Appreciate it! Quite a compliment.

Good to note. For this one, I used the chords to Truman Sleeps. And improvised an arpeggio pattern. Fm, Db, Ab, C
@@braintree56thanks so much for your reply very helpful

Excellent idea!
Haaaah, you beat me to it! Exactly what I was going to say 👍
I’m on it! Just bought an expression peel - thank you
@@AutisticCuriosity Make sure it has reversible polarity. I use the very inexpensive (£12 from Amazon) M-Audio one that has a switch 👍
The Moog expression pedal is excellent and it’s competitively priced.
Very cool ! Love the Matriarch…. Nice patch dude 😊
Thank you! Cheers!

Thanks so much! I hope get to own one at some point. :)
really like this kind of post. Hope to get a Matriarch one day
Appreciate the comment!
thank you. That was lovely.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice to see you have a proper Matriarch and not a boring black one! Great vid man 👍
Thanks! I like the dark ones... But.. man, the colored ones are just so cool!
Sharp. Appreciate the time on these videos. I bought the sound studio then matriarch without keys experience at all. It’s a mind blowing curve.

@@braintree56 Working towards more of that now. Patch and tweak book very very good. might be a good time to test that with your DFAM patch.
I love this! Very nice!
Thanks. It's such a subtle effect but makes a huge impact.
Super cool man! I never thought to modulate the rate of the sequencer! Great idea!
Isn't it crazy how such simple ideas can have such a big impact?
@@braintree56 absolutely! I'm still head over heels with just modulating the stereo filter. It sounds so good
Would be cool to control tempo with aftertouch too, though I guess that would only work with the arpeggiator and not the sequencer.
That's a pretty cool idea!
You could control the rate with velocity (I think).
great idea
Thank you! Cheers!
Great !!!!!!!
Thanks!
Very cool.
Thanks!
Thanks 😎 Great Patch Idea
Thanks!
This is so awesome dude..thanks a lot
Thanks!
Merci from France
De rein! :)
Nice tip!
Glad you liked it!
Very helpful thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Interesting
Thanks
Tempo rubato-Mozart used it; Chopin made a living from it; Liszt perfected it.
Yes! I didn't know that term. Thank you!
Excellent video!
Keith Jarrett perfected Liszt‘s perfection.
