The matriarch is an amazing synth. But it has a serious issues with the Filter EG. The cutoff suddenly opens in a random way. In this video it's well documented. While you're recording each sequence (it happens in both of them), when you're recording the chords you can clearly hear the filter opening. This doesn't happen when playing back a sequence. It only happens when playing chords, in a "staccato" way. Such a shame this happens, because it is a great synth, but had to send mine back. Moog support told me that this is present in every unit and they are working on the solution. But for a synth this price, I need it to be 100% working. Will get another one for sure, but only when this gets fixed. Tks for the video
@@BlankFor_ms I emailed Moog about this (mine exhibits the same behavior when using multi-trig) and they said there would be a fix in a future firmware update. No ETA on that however :/ Awesome video btw!
Michael Prechter interesting, I’m surprised the matriarch has digital control involved with the filter. It hasn’t felt that way other than the particular opening issue. I’m glad to hear they are on it. Thanks for the follow up
Guys, i need to slow down the rate tempo when i record the sequence. Matriarch is synced with my ableton project and i need to record a sequence on every "full note" not on every "quarter note". when i record the sequence and play and hold it again, the recording is super fast obviously and to tune the rate by the knob works, but i cannot hit my 'first beat" .... it super annoying when i wanna play a live set... to "link and sync" the sequence beginning with my "first beat"...
@@DietSodium use the rest button to "add" the "empty/silent" notes for the whole note.... example hit the key "C" and after 7 time rests, hit key "A"...so it will be like whole note of C, before note A starts to play.. i found this somewhere online
So cool!!! Please do more videos tips on the matriarch!
That opens so many possibilities when it comes to melody manipulation. Thank you!
Definitely going to give that a go.
These are beautiful sounds.
I make a lot of pieces like this and the LFO>rate tip is going to really open them up. Thanks friend!
Really good stuff here! Thank you!

Thanks for the comment, I'd been wondering what that was about.

Anyone know if this problem has been fixed?
Would be good to know if anyone hears of this being fixed
Excellent, love it!!
Best synth ever.
very nice, but the sequencer can also play double-length notes?
Did the filter opening randomly ever get addressed?
this is cool
Task 1 completed
Nice
