For the people thinking "Geesh thats a small stage for such an amazing band." Umea is Meshuggahs home town, this was a really small, private show where tickets was for sale like 48h before the show and only available from a local music shop. It was meant to be a small show.
my reaction too when I saw them live a couple of years ago in a similar venue. i stood right in front of the speaker rack and though "oh well, there goes my chances of enjoying the sound at this concert". but it was the tightest shit i've ever heard! seems like they really know how to sound check. 11/10
imgtsmnlom had exactly tjw same experience in London recently. The low end re enforcement was rediculous but all the mid and clarity of the whole mix was maintained.
Ha! My eyes wandered over your comment right as he said that...I never clocked that before in all the hundreds of times ive heard this song, now its all im gonna hear!
Dr. Cox I'd have to agree with you. ALL the stretchyears deathcore kiddies seem to be trying (very poorly i might add) to rip them off these days. It's annoying as hell, but at least Meshuggah gets the recognition they deserve. Amazing band.
Dude, there was actually an online petition for him to join Meshuggah for one song at Bonaroo about 3 years ago. Lol, that would have gone down as one of mankind's greatest achievements.
Fredrik Thordendal is an absolute G. Improvises every solo he's ever played with meshuggah. Fuck written solos when you can come up with some badass material right off the top of your head.
Thanks For interest. This is The 'poison' of 3 Rock songs. "Ministry" Lp. But they want to change the name of the 'Band'/'Group' name. -Mikayl Angilinou

Swan Ronson That's Jen's voice. It does look like he's cupping it, but it doesn't look like he's covering over the part that picks up his signal. That's Jen's voice plus a good sound man. Aside from the bassist in this band, Jen's talent is underrated IMO. He gets all kinds of sounds from his voice.
+Swan Ronson Yeah when I saw them live he was holding the microphone the same way and he sounded just like this. He just knows what he's doing and their sound guy doesn't fuck around
+Swan Ronson Jen isn't cupping the mic fully for it to sound bad. There are vents at the read of the mic head that need to 'breathe' in a way. He isn't fully blocking them.
well....it doesn't effect it quite as much because they use in-ear monitors instead of wedges on the stage....he probably gets bleed from the drums mostly, but that's about it
Yeah, because Meshuggah and "djent" is a big trend among scene kids who like deathcore and hardcore at the moment. At LOG/Meshuggah in Australia, there were idiots in the pit who were pushing and slamming into each other while Meshuggah were playing. Like fuck, why do idiots want to mosh to Meshuggah? Just rock or headbang to the 4/4 like they do and you can feel the groove of the song like you are suppose to!
Honestly, smaller venues imo, are better. Especially with no railings or security and being right up against the stage as music is being blasted directly into your brain, nothing else like it.
It's kinda the new attitude of the group towards performance. The last time I saw them they played almost everything slower. Even by listening to Koloss one would get the idea. It seems like they wrote all the songs on a faster tempo, and then performed at a slower tempo.
there's techniques for that. If you scream like Phil Anselmo (ex-Pantera) you'll surely lose your voice. But there's a natural way to scream correctly. It's not easy, but it works
I think that Jens might have lost the ability to scream like he did pre-Nothing simply because of how brutal that style must have been on his vocal chords. There hasn't been a scream like that since the occasional "AHHHHHHHH" on Catch Thirtythree, and even then you could tell the difference.

I would kill to see them at such a small venue
Meshuggah in a small venue, and all that destructive chaos? COUNT ME IN
that moment when a band is a million times better live than 90% of other band's albums...
my reaction too when I saw them live a couple of years ago in a similar venue. i stood right in front of the speaker rack and though "oh well, there goes my chances of enjoying the sound at this concert". but it was the tightest shit i've ever heard! seems like they really know how to sound check. 11/10

Lol at meshuggah shows, everybody stands still cuz they're in sheer terror from how amazing they are live
Everyone who likes JUICE should listen to this song! \m/
NvD Exilium YES
@funnyovideo 1:53 "I like juice, finish your juice. Filtered vitamin substance"
I like juice, it's the truth.
@@Ragnarockalypse Image of truth
"I like Juice, it is the true filtered vitamin substance."
FINISH YOUR JUICE!
🤣
This band was ahead of its time
Check out Mnemic, some of the stuff they made sounds really close to metal from the last couple years.
is*
they are modern metal
This band made a genre of metal 😂
Best version by far. This beats Alive, The Ophidian Trek, and both studio versions. Nailed it, Meshuggah.
2:08 "everything! Egg-salad!"
Ha! My eyes wandered over your comment right as he said that...I never clocked that before in all the hundreds of times ive heard this song, now its all im gonna hear!
lolol
FUCK
I STILL HEAR "I LIKE JUICE"
I don't.
The opening, and the chorus, make me bounce like a mad bastard.
" our light induced " = I LIKE JUICE!!!!!!!!
4 people don't like juice.

Meshuggah: "Rational Gaze", live at Toontrack Metal Month kick off 2012'
Most underrated band ever.
Search for Flotsam and Jetsam band "The cold" and "Ugly noise" albums and you will see, you're not right.
Considering that everyone and their mother is ripping them off, i'd say the contrary.
Dr. Cox I'd have to agree with you. ALL the stretchyears deathcore kiddies seem to be trying (very poorly i might add) to rip them off these days.
It's annoying as hell, but at least Meshuggah gets the recognition they deserve. Amazing band.
Leo Dicrapio should attend a messhugah show one day
Dude, there was actually an online petition for him to join Meshuggah for one song at Bonaroo about 3 years ago. Lol, that would have gone down as one of mankind's greatest achievements.
It's will mess up his slick back hair👌
Dear toontrack, please upload the full concert in one way or another. Either in one video or separate for each song. Thanks, -Everyone.
How on earth did they contain Meshuggah in a livingroom?!
Yeah, it's crazy
The audio is amazing.
Cannot imagine how great this show must have been to be in the crowd and how deaf they must all still be
Wow,I wish I was at this show.It doesnt matter how many bands do the 'djent'/polyrythm thing.NOBODY does it like Meshuggah.
I was not expecting that solo my jaw literally dropped
Fredrik Thordendal is an absolute G. Improvises every solo he's ever played with meshuggah. Fuck written solos when you can come up with some badass material right off the top of your head.
Meshuggah, Tool and Blindmelon are among the top tier when it comes to live shows. On another level..
I saw the preview image and said: If its toontrack´s concert this should be have an awesome live mixing, and it does! :D
Ahhh beautiful!!! aún tengo PLASMADO el recuerdo de Meshuggah en Chile el año pasado... lejos pero LEJOS lo más hermoso que he visto en vivo!
Seeing this guys in a few days...DAMN THEY ARE TOO GOOD! STOKED AS HELL!
This is the ultimate "try not to head-bang" challenge
I just love Meshuggahh
Couldn't agree more! 'Nothing' rocks and grooves harder than just about anything out there.
Where´s Leo Di Caprio?
I have to see them live before I die.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat performance, and the solo at 3:35 is marvelous!!!!!
I love seeing hometown shows
That moment when you cant figure out if its live audio or not :) This live audio sounds so gooooooooood!
Man, everytime Meshuggah plays, expect it to be ground-breaking. Literally.
I don't know how the tectonic plates are holding.
Simply Amazing.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who hears this every time.
Thomas' snare tone is killer =) sounds like a hand gun lol POP!
fuckin' delicious riff
Ticket to a show like this,GD PRICELESS!

Meshuggah for life
oh my head, that is so unbreakable!! Riff God!!
Amazing. The video editing is making me dizzy, however 😂
Sounds so fucking good. Great live video. Jens sounds amazing.
So awesome!
Monumental solo de Thor.
(bong) (doon) (pong) (dernmmmm) (dong) (hermmn)
I'd give anything to see them play in a small intimate venue like this
There is no way the vocals sound that good with him cupping the mic like that.
Swan Ronson That's Jen's voice. It does look like he's cupping it, but it doesn't look like he's covering over the part that picks up his signal. That's Jen's voice plus a good sound man. +Swan Ronson he's a pro ;-)
well....it doesn't effect it quite as much because they use in-ear monitors instead of wedges on the stage....he probably gets bleed from the drums mostly, but that's about it
this track is killer
Now that's what i call a kickoff.
Hi. Can you upload whole show? Thank you.
Stellar.
please ... come to SURABAYA !
apart from the teaser clips of Do Not Look Down and Lethargica (both of which sound monumentous), is there really no other footage from this gig?
I would become a nun if I could travel to the past to be there!!!
Gods!
Fukin' Sick!
Dam song is even better live
Jens's Beast Live's Awesome
it's in their hometown
Yes i would love to see the full concert together with my avatar friend above ;)
YES!!!!
Sick
Love these guys. Love you, Jens, Fredrik, Tomas, Martin and Dick. :) I probably spelled one of their names wrong. >.>
awesome
lol well apparently a tour-chase off of stateside is in order. When I see meshuggah I feel like I'm watching a symphony played by Druids
Yeah, because Meshuggah and "djent" is a big trend among scene kids who like deathcore and hardcore at the moment. when? where? OMG!!!!!!
Monumental riffing at the end!
what a tiny stage for such a good band D:
It was like a "private" show
all the more reason for a monstrous stage XD
Honestly, smaller venues imo, are better. Especially with no railings or security and being right up against the stage as music is being blasted directly into your brain, nothing else like it.
Hometown show in fucking Sweden
Fuckin great job on the lights!
It's kinda the new attitude of the group towards performance. The last time I saw them they played almost everything slower. Even by listening to Koloss one would get the idea. It seems like they wrote all the songs on a faster tempo, and then performed at a slower tempo.
They have too much swag
Too good.
cara, não existe um bom motivo pra não ir.
mas seja qual for, sinto muito por vc :\
eu vou!
dat solo...
Everything is salmon separated one fin at a time
I don't mean the lighting. Their lighting at live shows is totally amazing. I meant the cutting.
Kickass!
15 people don't like juice
Check out this recent random video I made with Meshuggahs "Rational Gaze" featuring Timmy from Southpark: ruclips.net/video/AjFt5KONFt8/видео.html
Oh my good gracious me... this is brutal !
there's techniques for that. If you scream like Phil Anselmo (ex-Pantera) you'll surely lose your voice. But there's a natural way to scream correctly. It's not easy, but it works
Finish your juice, filtered vitamin substance
They don't have a bigger club in Sweden?
FUCKIN SICK PERFORMANCE!!🤘🤘
Is this really the performance of Rational Gaze on The Ophidian Trek?
I've often wondered if the guy in the crowd @ 0:42 (with the hat) is Devin :D I think he was there at the time?
Mark Gordon omg, it looks so much like him!
I think that Jens might have lost the ability to scream like he did pre-Nothing simply because of how brutal that style must have been on his vocal chords. There hasn't been a scream like that since the occasional "AHHHHHHHH" on Catch Thirtythree, and even then you could tell the difference.
They still play in small closets like this? They deserve so much bigger.
Nah they play in bigger venues now, depends what city their in tho. They're ontop of the deathmetal chain trust
... they consider only about what they are doing at particular moment, not what they deserve or not. Only the greatest do that. So, learn.
Rok Jaklič You're so cute when you try to be condescendant.
This was for this "Toontrack" thing.
this is in their home town, I think it was meant to be an intimate setting
