So everyone can except linkin park and limp bizcuit, but once someone actually makes legit heavy ass riffs and actual meaningful and insightful lyrics everyone disses it. What the fuck?
+Brendan Gibson I agree with OP for the most part. any rap song can be turned into a metal song and vice versa. rap songs (for the most part) and metal (for the most part) are written with the same idea (structure) which is why covers of rap songs always sound so good as metal songs. (for the most part. lol)
Devin Phares Well yeah they can be changed into each other (although I don't think turning djent into rap would work all that well. Because polyrhythms.). But they are not the same thing :P
Please let rap music move in this direction! This was the most beautiful thing containing rhyming words to a beat that I've ever heard. Originality at it's finest.
Well done, fusing true rap and progressive metal. WELL DONE! I"m a fan. I'm not really sure why people are saying it sucks...? I mean, hey, it's not traditional, but IMO it kind of has it all. Great vocals, badass prog-metal, and poetry. Shit, why not?
+Naiya Cominos I can't speak for others, but in the past, I've thought that alot of Hacktivist's tracks are rather generic. That could be the reason for some of the hate.
+Naiya Cominos I'm not a rap fan, but boy this sounds great. The rap fits in just perfect. Plus the lyrics are fantastic. Something actually fresh that doesn't sound like the same old metal release.
+Naiya Cominos Wait wait wait. This isn't progressive. It's Djent, basically a step up from nu-metal. I kinda like them, but they don't do much beyond a repeated formula. Bands like Opeth, Ne Obliviscaris, Dream Theater etc are progressive metal.
Would have LOVED to hear some of Hacktivist's work in Watch Dogs 2. I needed something more from their soundtrack, and I think Hacktivist was the missing piece.
Been trying to get a friend of mine into Hacktivist and the only words I could find to describe them was "Chav Metal, but not as shit as that sounds". So I reckon this genre should be called 'Chav Metal'.
Damn dudes. Getting better every album. Nice new 8 string. That stock Agile was holding you back! Keep em coming guys. Maybe someday soon we will stand up and take back what is rightfully ours.
Garett Geho It's different and not bad or so, it's just that every song sounds the same.. (I have seen them live when I went to a show of Enter Shikari and I thought they were playing Elevate for 3 times before they actually played it..)
I'm a big fan of Rock and Metal but not really a fan of grime but I do love this band. I think the music has affected me the way the band wanted it to, bringing people into new genres. Oh, and for those who don't like it, don't listen to it. Go listen to the bands or artists you DO like. It's as simple as that.
omg all this hate because of the rap... u know guys, i'm a metalhead myself but i have to say that rapping is as hard as screaming or singing. to get a perfect pronunciation at a high pace is freakin difficult... also the chugging patterns fit perfectly to the rap parts... so please calm down, listen to the music and if u don't like it stop bitching or trolling or whatever and listen to your bands. have a good evening everybody :)
Wanna complain about the rap, but had the audacity to see the video and click on it to hear it knowing so. :) crash a car and blame the road conditions :P
Interesting. Im not a rap fan, but the riff is rad. Quite a creative mix. I like the way theyve kept the structure quite simple like rap songs too, and not made it too djent-ish. As much as people might hate this, especially my fellow metalheads, you cant deny that this has the chance of bringing the music that we enjoy into the limelight, and could bring our favourite artists more money in doing so. Just imagine Oceano, Volumes, Veil of Maya etc on Top of the Pops.
At all the people saying this sucks: RATM has done it, Linkin Park has done it, Slipknot has done it and Limp Bizkit has done it and even Korn so get over it already...
+TheHuricange While I like this music , this feels more traditional London rap fronting a metal band. Different from the Rap you mention in the Bands above.
BaconJets I think we both know that he really was talking about hip-hop. seriously, don't just find something to complain about. use common sense, man.
***** The part I like is that it is actually metal. So many people call their band/get their band called rap metal because to the mainstream, a rap song with a distorted guitar is such a contrast, it must be metal.
50 djent
АХАХАХАХАХ В ГОЛОС
💚
Best
Haha Perfect Description of Hacktivist.
Good one!
Not only do these guys make fire music, but their lyrics are so important
So everyone can except linkin park and limp bizcuit, but once someone actually makes legit heavy ass riffs and actual meaningful and insightful lyrics everyone disses it. What the fuck?
accept* im dumb
Nick Palumbo
You might be dumb but you have a damn good point... and if you haven't seen them live, you need to!
Stopped reading at "...meaningful and insightful lyrics..."
fortcyanide5 Then you must have read most of the comment..congrats!
Dustin Sweeney I did read most of it. You're very clever, please explain to me how you knew I read most of it?
Some how the djent riffs and rap lyrics seem to work.. Good shit
***** groove = groove
MrSlagovich That also means rap = djent, which isn't necessarily the case.
whatsup914 ^^This guy knows how to logic
+Brendan Gibson I agree with OP for the most part. any rap song can be turned into a metal song and vice versa. rap songs (for the most part) and metal (for the most part) are written with the same idea (structure)

Devin Phares Well yeah they can be changed into each other (although I don't think turning djent into rap would work all that well. Because polyrhythms.). But they are not the same thing :P
I sometimes wonder what happened. 2022 and I’m still going back to old songs.
Please let rap music move in this direction! This was the most beautiful thing containing rhyming words to a beat that I've ever heard. Originality at it's finest.
Djent + rap perfect mix dude
Well done, fusing true rap and progressive metal. WELL DONE! I"m a fan. I'm not really sure why people are saying it sucks...? I mean, hey, it's not traditional, but IMO it kind of has it all. Great vocals, badass prog-metal, and poetry. Shit, why not?
+Naiya Cominos the band was/is ahead of it's time for this genre cause it is very good but not really what people want(ed) to hear at the time.
+Naiya Cominos I can't speak for others, but in the past, I've thought that alot of Hacktivist's tracks are rather generic. That could be the reason for some of the hate.
+Jonathan Arvizu no, some people just don't like it. they're not "ahead of their time"
+Naiya Cominos I'm not a rap fan, but boy this sounds great.
Where the fuck have I been? Why am I just now hearing this? This shit is fucking sick.

Would have LOVED to hear some of Hacktivist's work in Watch Dogs 2. I needed something more from their soundtrack, and I think Hacktivist was the missing piece.
I'm stunned how well this actually works. Top show boys.
people want new shit because everything is the same, new shit is there, people complain because it's different.. geez
coolcheka10 damned if u do, damned if u don't. Smfh.
Robotaxis
These guys got more skills than many other rapmetal bands.
I love Hacktivist. Every one of their songs is a rap battle with government executives and corporate magnates.
Still nice to see that nothing has changed on the internet, there are still people coming onto shit they don't like and talking shit about it. 10/10
So, would you call this Djap?
MetalliDeth1223 djrap
Rjent
Been trying to get a friend of mine into Hacktivist and the only words I could find to describe them was "Chav Metal, but not as shit as that sounds".
So I reckon this genre should be called 'Chav Metal'.
+rorz999 I know, it's just that mix of english rap and metal.
Djent mixed with Grime - DIRTY COMBO XD
+Morgan Mansfield Djent is no real genre
+Martin Halvorsen DUDE DO YOU EVEN DJENT??!
+Morgan Mansfield Djent is much like Grunge it isnt a musical style its more of an attitude so I ask you Dude, Do you even Djent??
I stand firm !!!!!
Rap metal was still living.
Damn dudes. Getting better every album. Nice new 8 string. That stock Agile was holding you back! Keep em coming guys. Maybe someday soon we will stand up and take back what is rightfully ours.
Rightfully what now?
Didn't know Bob Burnquist was rapping on a band. lol
Dude sounds like Chip! In a good way. The right balance of grime and metal has finally been achieved.
Who says Metal and Rap can't make peace and make the world better? damn this is fucking sick! Im glad i knew this band
I just love the groove and the overall feeling of this group, it's so heavy yet chill at the same time.
I'll never stop enjoying this song
It still fits the time and always will
Good writing is good writing. Good composition is good. This shit hooks hard
this to me is like a mash up of volumes and rap like immortal technique, diabolic and it is freakin sweet

Nice to know Enter Shikari are big enough to have merch in the videos of others.
The average comment here "blah blah it's different so it sucks blah blah blah" lmfao
No, it sucks because it sucks. It's 2014, this is not new or "different". Just shitty.
i.imgur.com/zeWdbhn.jpg
Mook aton actually 2013
Garett Geho It's different and not bad or so, it's just that every song sounds the same.. (I have seen them live when I went to a show of Enter Shikari and I thought they were playing Elevate for 3 times before they actually played it..)
Garett Geho blah blah blah? blah!
OMG Djent rap combo works very good! This music is fucking awesome!
I usually don't like metal, but it is Hacktivist
I WILL own that Hacktivist fitted cap one of these days
Well, personally, I love it. Maybe it's because I grew up in the nu-metal era, but I always love to see a good combination of hip hop and metal!
2020!
9 years time fly now im Old and Bald Still A bangers 👌
Wish I could see you guys down here in Brazil !!
Pode creeer!
I'm a big fan of Rock and Metal but not really a fan of grime but I do love this band. I think the music has affected me the way the band wanted it to, bringing people into new genres.
Oh, and for those who don't like it, don't listen to it. Go listen to the bands or artists you DO like. It's as simple as that.
finally - metal with no screaming. like it.
***** do u even read yourself write?
rapbalance
That's a no then
the fact that you say ”finally” means you did not really bother to look for metal with no screaming.
Horia Gheta hell yeah i did. i found only Captain Chunk and Metallica. go on, enlighten me.
***** It is metal. Djent is a sub-genre of Prog Metal. Don't talk.
Uk djent, hacktivist show the world the uk still has some of the best artists out there :)
That riff is so fucking spicy. Great song.
Wow I've never heard this combination of genres before but I think it's sick hahaha

omg all this hate because of the rap... u know guys, i'm a metalhead myself but i have to say that rapping is as hard as screaming or singing. to get a perfect pronunciation at a high pace is freakin difficult... also the chugging patterns fit perfectly to the rap parts... so please calm down, listen to the music and if u don't like it stop bitching or trolling or whatever and listen to your bands. have a good evening everybody :)
You can't fix stupid man.
Wanna complain about the rap, but had the audacity to see the video and click on it to hear it knowing so. :) crash a car and blame the road conditions :P
as a screamer/vocalist, rapping was one of those things i never mastered. and writing solid rap lyrics is much harder than writing regular song lyrics
I saw them at Rockstadt ! They were awsome 🤩 and Im not a fan !!
FUCK YES MY NEW FAVORITE HACKTIVIST SONG.
it's Progressive Rapped Metal. Great !!! going to see them tomorrow
Like a heavy Enter Shikari. Dig it.
A million views on a tune is proof that you’ve produced your own style
tell that to S Club 7
@@danielsay9842 Now now you certainly don't want to talk shit about the s club
Tell that to Despacito.
i want that enter shikari hat so bad...
stumbled on these guys randomly and so glad i did
my parents listened to country music on road trips. lol. im a complete 180 from that now
Interesting. Im not a rap fan, but the riff is rad. Quite a creative mix. I like the way theyve kept the structure quite simple like rap songs too, and not made it too djent-ish. THALL
not gonna lie... we love these guys!
this is far better than re-recorded version
(Hacktivist is my dirty little secret.)
This just shows that heavy music doesn't have to scream.
I love how music has developed. Hacktivist are sick, keep going guys.
This song is heavily underrated.
That Adidas jacket though! Sick AF

HACKTIVIST!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
At all the people saying this sucks: RATM has done it, Linkin Park has done it, Slipknot has done it and Limp Bizkit has done it and even Korn so get over it already...
TheHuricange
nah, this does not suck
this rocks!
I miss late 90's and early 00's
+TheHuricange While I like this music , this feels more traditional London rap fronting a metal band. Different from the Rap you mention in the Bands above.
+TheHuricange
except RATM suck, SLIPknot suck, and so does Limp Bizkit aside from 1 song. Also, Korn sucks ass.
objective33 can you please explain why they suck?
+TheHuricange rofl hes just an inbred nvm him
Well Nu-djent is definitely interesting. Wasn't expecting this.
You Did it! You Really Are Pioneers!
2021 and still on fire 🔥
That Enter Shikari cap
+Enrique Shikari Lol wut?
+89MazzaUK the black guy is wearing a Shikari beanie
Not a fan, but much better then rap. They actually put some thought into it and are talented
"rap doesn't real music because I don't like"
Open that mind up and stop be so genre specific with your musical choices.
"much better than rap"
there's rap in this by the way mate
kingofcrime87 It's called personal preference. Listen to everything, but have favorite genres/bands
BaconJets I think we both know that he really was talking about hip-hop. seriously, don't just find something to complain about. use common sense, man.
first impression: progressive metal w/ djenty riffs/rap. i think we can all agree and also not give a shit at the same time. they're so good
Guitars makes good job always
Not bad.
Is that a 6-string bass?!
and only uses the top string ;)
i think yes it a 6 string bass and a a 8 string guitare
Peaked
*the bottom string, The top string is the string with the highest pitch.
nah man that's a chubby guitar
I can answer my own question, saw them live last night and it is a 6 -string!
Cheddar Bobbb!!!!
Hacktivist is the perfect combination of, Metal, Hiphop, and great LYRICS, REVOLUTION ! Please do not underestimate the lyrics of Hacktivist.
I say, is that an Enter Shikari hat?
my thought exatcly
Most likely, they're good mates with the Shikari boys.
Jonnybowden0 They toured together this year
Djent Rap Metal much
That's the idea
***** The part I like is that it is actually metal. So many people call their band/get their band called rap metal because to the mainstream, a rap song with a distorted guitar is such a contrast, it must be metal.
that chorus is really good!!
lets just let Rage do this genre forever
