@@TheSundaeDrive I just ran the cable from the tailgate towards the front of the truck and used the factory video cable harness to run it under the truck. Then I made a small hole in the E brake grommet and then tapped into the power for the locks to activate it. Fairly easy to do. :)
I will have a full video on this in the next week or so. But everything just unscrews and pops off pretty easily. The hardest part is getting the top handle free but I will show this aswell. Take care 🤙🏼
Sooooo, what if ur handle is snapped off from -45 C temperatures and ur tailgate is frozen shut as well AND u have a bed cover u can’t get off…. How do I remove it then😅😅😂 (been a rough day so far😂) Update: figured it out and it’s fixed 👍🏻😂 had to use a slim aluminum pry bar and another flat piece of aluminum to push down on the cover tabs and it popped right open!
Had to replace the actuator on mine to lock. New one in and it works. Mine is a LT model as well. Make sure the electrical cable is plugged into the actuator for the remote lock to work with the locking mechanism to lock the tailgate with doors as well.
Can you replace handle without removing rear camera wire? How do you remove rear camera from handle?
I bought a pop and lock for my '14 Silverado. I can now lock and unlock the tailgate with my factory fob.
Nice! I might look into that at some point

Was wondering if you have a video to remove the plastic top of the tailgate? Is this just glued on? TY
It's a whole bunch of clips that hold it. You can get to a lot of them with the back panel removed
Really well done presentation.
Thank you 🤙🏽
Glad to help!
how do i remove the lock tumbler from the handle?

Same. Bad day.
Mine doesn't lock like when I hit the key fob I manually can lock it though
It's a 14' LT single cab
My LT does not have auto locking. If that's available I believe it was only on higher trims. Not sure if it was an option in 14
@@TheSundaeDrive I have a 14 ltz. Ordered it, no locking tailgate or remote windows available in 14
@@askadad7355 thanks I just wondered my mom has the 16 Denali and we'll I thought it woulda been a entire next generation thing I guess not though

good to know. Gonna have to reinstall after a POS stole my handle/camera

Does NOT WORK on 2016 GMC..YOU have to take off the inside back panel.
