Finally someone that knows how to make a how-to video
Thanks
Best YT instructional video I've seen yet. Nice job!
Awesome! Glad it helped!
One of the clearest instructional videos! Thank you for taking the time to create and post the video!!!
Glad to help!
@@TheSundaeDrive h788h79hn
Good, easy to follow video and just what I was looking for. Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Thank you for your video. It was very helpful and made the job easy.
Very cool video. Replaced my blinking AC controls for cheap!
Thanks for walking us through that I’m going to replace my ACM module because my screen displays “audio off” where the speedometer is but my main screen doesn’t work.. I replaced the HMI as well but shortly after the ACM gave out smh… thanks!
Very informative video. Thanks
No problem!
When is the lifter/cam video coming? I’m looking to do that work on my Silverado soon. And love the vids, they have helped me out so much
I'm glad you are enjoy the videos and they are helping you! Love hearing that. I am going to be doing the installation in early November so hopefully but the end of the month the video will be up!
Great video! Well done!
Made my swap about 30 minutes instead of hours…thanks!!
Awesome! Glad it helped!
Fantastic 👏👏🙏
Good teacher
Thank you! 😃
Wow, great video. I may have to do this if I can't fix the darn buttons instead. Coffee got spilled on the rear defrost button, defrost button, air circ button, etc. So, I pried them out and cleaned them and now when I put them back in, they do not spring back. Any idea on what I am doing wrong? Thanks!
awesome great vidio!!!!!
Did you see any 7mm screws behind the modules? I have a rattle I can’t find.
Thanks
I have a question, I have a 2016 GMC Sierra Texas edition. The screen is cracked and won’t work when you touch it. I noticed you have 5 buttons and I only have 3( brake adjust, trac control, and tailgate light). Would it work if I ordered a regular 2016 gmc radio?
So I just pulled part of my dash out following the video and I do t have the heated not cooled option but I still have the wires for the heated option, Wouldn’t be a bad video to retrofit on someone else’s truck if anyone else has a 14 to 18 model truck
Which of those connectors is the antennae? My Am/Fm does not work very well and sometimes my Sirius Radio loses signal. Thanks
Great video... I have a 4.2 inch MyLink display that's cracked, where can I buy another one? I don't want to upgrade to the 8 inch.
I need to replace the radio in my 2015 gmc 3500. Where can I purchase the head unit. I have navigation and a backup camera along with steering wheel controls.
Thanks
Any idea why my front speakers aren’t working in my 2014 silverado?
Does anyone have the Part number for the display unit? I have a 2017 silverado 2500
I’m looking for the phone control module when I hit the phone button on the steering wheel an the lady’s voice comes over the speakers an asked for a command it does not recognize my voice just like when I call someone hands free I can hear them but they can’t here me
Does anybody know if I can get to the driver side actuator this way
Question to any one! The radio on my 2014 GMC Sierra SLT ( Bose Sound) does not play one channel of XM radio, Chanel #30. I called SiriusXM tech support, they told me that some radios installed on GM trucks/ cars do not have the chip for the chanel, it need to be reset or adding a chip!🤔. I'm frustrated, because my wife most listen chanel. Do I have to replace the radio, if so, how difficult is and how to find a radio that plays the chanel 30? Thanks!
The light in my defroster button quit working so you can't see it at night time, I'm assuming you have to replace that hole cluster of buttons? Great instructional video by the way
Most likely but I have not had to do it before so I'm not sure
@@TheSundaeDrive thanks for the reply
No problem! Let me know what the solution ends up being!
Did you ever replace the bulb? Having troubles finding an instructional video regarding bulbs on climate control dash for my 2018 GMC
@@davidparra8397 I have not tore it apart yet, I kind of researched it too but wasn't coming up with much.
The intellilink display on my 2015 GMC Sierra seems to have a mind of its own changing stations, changing from AM to FM to Navigation, etc. My local dealer advised the "Display Control Module" is defective and in need of replacement. I asked if I could upgrade the DCM to a module with CarPlay, but they did not seem to think so. Is this a possible option I could choose? In addition, I am not sure which component is actually the DCM.
I would reach out to phil gamboa. He has a RUclips channel too. He works with those kinds of upgrades
Where is the video where you install the aux inputs?
This is an awesome video, now I know how to remove the bezel and the screen. My AC button backlight stopped working on my 2018. How do I change the backlight?
My air recirculation button back light just went out.
Jerad P what model do you have? This is a great video to start, but not sure how to move on after that.
@@sinhnhutnguyen4781 I have a 2018 Silverado Custom. I haven't looked at how or if I can replace the back lights quite yet. 😏
Jerad P check out this video ruclips.net/video/GwMcSug1XDw/видео.html, the poster of that video replied to me and said I need to replace the entire unit. You can buy the part and DIY it but to be honest our cars are 2018 I say we take it to the dealer and have them do it under warranty. My car is has only 18500 miles so I’ll bring it back.
Jerad P got it replaced today at the dealer all under warranty. The whole process took about 1.5 hours. You should have the dealer do it.
I have a Silverado 2019 LD, it has the same controls. I'm looking at the heater control modular because of flickering lights
Fortunately I have not had that issue yet but I believe the entire button has to be replaced. I could be wrong tho
@@TheSundaeDrive Ihave taken it out and verified the model # I can't see any way to fix the modual so I'm going to replace it, about $150
Two questions: 1) you mentioned a subsequent video for upgrading the lower buttons, try like heck I can’t find it and 2) Does replacing the Climate Control Module require any reprogramming for the new one to work on a given truck?
Haven't made the videos yet. We have them sitting on a shelf but have been too slammed with out work :(
@@TheSundaeDrive ok, … and the second question?
@@kensabatini3904I realize your question is 9 Mos old but the answer is no on any reprogramming, The ECM stores all the info on your stereo and all else, Direct swap out/Plug and play, Wont lose any settings in your My Link, Etc
I just ordered the HVAC replacement module for my 2018 GMC Sierra 1500. Do I need to disconnect the battery cable before I start replacing the module and bezel?
I didn't disconnect battery power. No problems. Removal and replacement well well. Great video.
The back light for the defrost illumination and feet/defrost illumination both are gone in my 2018 Silverado. Is there a way to pop those buttons or does that whole face need to be replaced?
I haven't had the issue yet knock on wood so I am not sure. I do not it is a common problem. If you do find a solution and comment back so the rest of us can know that would be awesome :)
If I dropped something down the defrost
Vent on the dash. What would
Be the best course of
Action if I were
To try and find it again. ? Thanks in
Advance friends.
2016 Silverado
Ooo that stinks. How badly do you want it back? 😂😂 You could try popping out the entire left dash piece. One of our videos shows how to do this I believe
My monitor didn’t work for a long time, I bought a new one for $100 and installed everything correctly but it doesn’t work, what should I do?
Hey idk i; u will respond but can i do this conversion from a small screen to the big oem screen?as a plug and play?
It probably isn't plug and play but not 100% sure. Haven't done it myself. You'll have to check on the forums and FB groups
My rear defrost light only works some of the time. Once you remove the screen panel, how easy is it to remove/replace the bulbs?
I haven't done this yet so I am not sure. I am planning to change out my button panel so that I can control more features. I have the parts but it is in the back burner for now. Once I do that I may have a better idea tho
Same issue same button lol
I'll see if I can do a video on this at some point for you guys.
I have the same problem. Thought it was just me. The rear defroster light works when I turn it on but the blue light for the logo doesn't work sometimes. I notice it when it's very humid like after it was raining.
did anyone ever pull it apart and see if there was a bad soder joint or something in theirs?
You cannot replace the bulbs. Climate control has to be replaced. Thanks female CEO!
Would you by any chance happen to know what the problem would be with the rear defrost button when it works but does not glow in the dark?
Thanks in advance
Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting the plug? It is possible a pin came loose
@@TheSundaeDrive
I'll try that and see how it goes
I really appreciate you for answering my question.
👍
@@trilliamlevy8785 of course! Let us know what you find so we know in the future! LED could be bad as well
Samehere on my 2018, I started the truck and the backlit light for at night time on the button started flickering then went out. Button still works but doesn’t light up at night. Anyone changed the bulb in these or know a fix?
@@Mr.Beastforpresident I just had the exact same issue with my 2017 Silverado had my Chevy dealership look at the problem they tell me GM part # 84258729 is the fix that part replaces the entire HVAC section @ total cost of 267.84. They tell me that light bulbs (led) are not replaceable. Have you repaired yours?
Can you get to the actuator from here
could you post the link to the dash bottom button video?
I have not done it yet sadly :( have parts standing by but have not had time
Will replacing the screen fix the touchscreen or is the problem deeper?
I'm not sure - I haven't had any issues with my screen so I haven't investigated it.
My climate control lights aren’t working, how can I fix them?
Is the process for a 2017-2019 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali the same?
I believe so but I also haven't done it in those trucks to be sure
Any advice on how to fix the infotainment screen? Tried fuse, and that blue cable behind glovebox and nothing seems to work. I have a 17 Silverado
Damm!! Im having the same problem
Have you find out what the problem is??
@@tonimunoz5150 yes it was the HMI module F had to take to dealership to troubleshoot
That was it, just the HMI? You didn’t have to replace the screen?
@@tonimunoz5150 yes just the module. It wasn’t communicating. My back up cam worked so if your does the same then I’m betting it’s that. Save yourself some money and do it yourself. I got ripped at dealer
Can you access the blend door actuator from there??
Not sure
I was wondering the same thing. I have to replace my blend door also.
Is there a video to remove the dash cover right above instrument cluster...theres a nasty rattle in mine
Not yet but I think I should probably make one because so many have asked
Mine rattles up on top of dash on passenger side
@@kpcrf450 found mine..was 2 loose bolts behind gauges..also tightened every bolt and screw i could get at during the process no more rattle
Any advice on how to fix the infotainment screen? Tried fuse, and that blue cable behind glovebox and nothing seems to work
Haven't the issue happen myself so I haven't explored any solutions but maybe someone else watching will have some advice.
@@TheSundaeDrive ok thank you tho
Best of luck! When you find the solution please come back and update us in the comments :)
@@TheSundaeDrive it was the HMI control module for anyone out there experiencing infotainment screen black and back up cam working module was not communicating needed to be replace. Tried blue cable behind glovebox, audio fuse ,and connections.
Thanks for the follow up! Now I'll know what to do if it fails on mine!
Will removing this give me access to the temperature control actuator?
Unsure
Is there an aftermarket part I can install to keep USB and charger port operational inside the console?
My defrost button on this exact module doesn’t light up no more. How do I fix that?
I'm not sure unfortunately or 8 haven't had this problem happen yet so I haven't figured out a solution
Where is video on bottom buttons to auxiliary pack
Have not had time to do it yet - too many other projects in the works. Have all the parts but haven't been able to get around to it yet.
Is there a video on how to change the AC button? My trucks AC button is jammed inside (bought it from the dealership like this and the woman said it was “stiff from the cold” it hasn’t jammed out) and I can buy the part but would like to properly install it rather than spend $600+ at the mechanics here in town 🥲
