    This is an autobuy for me. Richard is an absolute genius and the Microvolt3900 is probably my nicest sounding synth.

      @sub-jec-tiv Год назад +2

      I agree! 3900 is a classic IMO. It’s so flexible and useful (especially the snappy envelopes/LPG). I will never sell my 3900, i find it sneaking into other eurorack patches too, the onboard function generator stuff is super useful too.

    The fact that the Taiga can keep two people busy while creating endlessly unique and vibrant sounds with a simple arpeggio - all in one box - was the moment I realized I had to have one. Great job Pittsburgh Modular - nicely done Sweetwater

      You think taiga would be richer than the sv1? I’m trying to decide between the 2

  • @Zinfidel1

    I love modulating decay on an envelope to add dimension in long improvised synth patches. So, i appreciate the "Response" cv for the dynamics section. It's a nice extra touch. In fact, this module has a "nice extra touch" on every section! Arp, waveform CV, preamp, filter combos, BBD CV. Also, calling it now, Synthesizer Aesthetics of the Year award. Not sure that's a real award.

    i bought the sv1-b on a whim a few years ago and was absolutely floored by how rich the sound is. there is some magic under the hood in these pittsburgh modular instruments. this was an auto buy for me just for the richness of the sound alone. great demo as always, daniel!

    Looking forward to a longer sounds-only deep dive! Might i suggest, in the deep dive, take part of the video to ‘go weird’ and really explore the wavefolding / fm complex osc / wild side. I think people are getting the impression this just sounds like another analog synth; there’s so much crazy Buchla-ish territory, it seems like what this synth was designed to do. Making it sound like a Minimoog isn’t going to tell people why it’s unique, know what i mean?

    Just wonder is it possible to use Keystep Pro so I could play chords using three cv outs to oscillators?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Год назад +10

      Hi kosmikmusa. Yes, you could use three of the KeyStep PRO's Pitch CV Outs to get three independent moving pitches. It would be considered 3-note "paraphony" (as opposed to 3-note polyphony) since all three would have to share the same filter and VCA.

    Can't wait to get my Taiga! Unrelated, but this has been bugging me for a few videos. What is going on Mother-32 stack in the back. What are those "add-on wings" on the sides?

    • @sweetwater
      @sweetwater  Год назад +3

      Hi Will. If you mean the wood sides, they're the originals that I bolted on *outside* of the side legs instead of inside the side legs. You have to flex the metal legs just a little to get them to do that, but it does look cool.

      At first I thought that was sarcasm... But then... Synths like this will often come with little paper drawings of the front panel. You can draw in your patch cables and mark the knob positions. It works pretty well. Not speedy, but good for record keeping.
