Glad to hear this because I got this few weeks ago, last in my city lol. figured this would be decent since it's the real second wine to Austin hope unlike the troublemaker and school.
@@UpYourWineGame If you get a chance, try the Treana Red - 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Syrah. I bought up a bunch of the 2016s to cellar because of how good it is for under $30.
Sucks when you pronounce something right in its original language and you're wrong! Thanks for pointing out this California Cab. Would love to hear of others that are worth the money.
The correct pronunciation is actually ROH-blays not ROH-buulz. Robles is a spanish word that means oaks (tree). El Paso de robles is it's origin. The word has just been anglicized so you were pronouncing it correctly. It's like godello (wine), a lot of people pronounce it wrong with the double L sounding like an L. It's a spanish grape and the double L is pronounced like a Y.
I love your crusade to spare people money on Caymus. More videos like this, with alternatives to some big names would be great.
We just tried Treana too and we love it too. We are huge fans of Austin Hope wines. Awesome review!
Thank you for the recommendation - this was delicious!

😃Costco for 22 bucks. Loved it!
Gosh I love it when people talk shit about Caymus
Who is talking shit about caymus? He's giving recommendations that are similar.
But caymus is not very good 😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅
Joshua Tree? Amazing view from that house.
Yep!

Sounds incredible but $36 locally
What gives Caymus that velvety smoothness and lack of acidity that makes it so easy to drink? Are there other Cabs you recommend with that quality?
At even less money than the Treana is the Apothic Red blend, Pinot Noir & their cab. Usually around $12-13
Louis Martini Napa valley. Roughly 40 bucks a bottle drinks like a 60-80 dollar bottle
I love this wine. Not only because we have the same name 😅
I assume you've had Austin Hope's regular Cab... I recommend J. Lohr Hilltop for a similar experience at a lower price point.
@@alexanderk7422 thanks!
Sounds amazing, where did you find that bottle?
Most major grocery stores carry it in California
Found it at Costco’s.
I'm no expert but these are my Caymus Substitutes:
- Austin Hope Cab
The Austin Hope Cabernet is even better. I believe Austin interned at Caumus
