I just opened this up with some sockeye salmon with my recipe of Garlic and cinnamon. Just rode 20 miles in my bike and on my deck and a beautiful Minnesota afternoon. This is full bodied and tasty , fruity. I was surprised . This is a 10 to 20 buck chuck. I’ve had crap for 100 a bottle. Definitely worth 10 bucks.

Just buy a bottle of Bonanza, the poor man's Caymus. Which is made by the Wagner family. It's about $20 and basically tastes the same in my opinion.

Kirkland Brut champagne is really really good for the price!

Caymus was my introduction to the wine world as I’m sure many others also . My first bottle (2009)I enjoyed it but found it cloyingly sweet as I started to consume more. As my palate improved I was able to Segway into Bordeaux.

Caymus is now one of the worst, overhyped, Napa cabs. On a side note, I finally tried a Bonanza this past weekend and it was almost undrinkable. The three of us trying it just decided to drain poor it

If someone wants big lush smooth fruit bomb Cabs, why not just buy Paso Robles Cab for 1/4 the price?

Yep, early 90s were the days. Used to use special select to pound Liberty School into the market. Good relative value alternative is Austin Hope Cab.

I do have to agree, Bogle does make some great, cheap wine. We don't know where in California they source their grapes from, but they sure aren't picking the rotten ones that fell off the vine onto the ground. (I've had wines that taste like this.) They are VERY consistent in their quality of wine they put out, and I would recommend them to anyone. Keep up the suggestions on wines! I tried "The Tenebras" you suggested a while back and it did NOT disappoint! Thanks!

When I worked at TJ’s, I would recommend Bogle wines with this comment: Bogle makes wines that are a very good accurate representation of what each grape should taste like.

Great comments on the video. Loved it. Subscribed! Caymus is more like a sweet wine cocktail. The appeal? the marketing I think. Which people pay for. It should be about 20 bucks for sure. My tasting notes have "Cherry NyQuil" and "Hersheys Chocolate Syrup" in the descriptors. That says it all for me. And this is the 2016! the new ones, 2020, 2021, are even more extreme on the sugar and artificial flavoring (vanilla, sugar from something like mega purple, which is likely affecting the color also, etc). Won´t be buying this again at this price level.

I thought that all the wines that TJ’s sells that have the name “Moon” attached were products of the Bronco Wine Company (Charles Shaw fame). Another wine geared for the wine nubes.

Wish this was a $25 bottle. Crowd pleaser at parties and nights out at restaurants.

I will be at Trader Joe's tomorrow in Gainesville, I will see if they have the wine.

Kirkland Champagne is actual French Brut Champagne. You can't beat $20 bucks period. Keep the Veuve and have an extra $45 bucks for dinner or gas.

I just finished watching your review. Wish I would have seen this earlier, I got a Caymus Napa Cab 2021 for a Birthday present and I was hoping for a wine that was extra special. Since I am not at the level of other wine drinkers, I hope that it will still be an enjoyable glass of wine. This will be the first bottle of Caymus that I have ever tried. It was purchased for $80 at Total Wine & More and was their last bottle, so they didn't seem to have a problem moving the product. I am hoping for the best. Moving forward, I plan to watch your reviews again very often for your advise. Thanks again for being so honest. Many others have given it a good review because the name is Caymus. Thanks again!

Petite Sirah is an underrated wine. When I was at TJ’s I made an effort to promote Petite Sirah, and customers came back and bought tons. My motto: Try something different.
