You do a great job of filming. Love the videos. It’s a small thing but including the time in between clips is actually really encouraging to me. It helps give a more realistic timeline and keeps me from getting discouraged when I don’t land a fish every other cast.

Lmao! Plucking gars out of the spillway! Gars are super cool fish that will survive in that stagnate pool until the water returns. They will eat frogs and possibly small birds if they have to. The swim bladder they have will allow them to live and thrive in waters with crazy low oxygen levels. I can’t stand that sportsman fishermen disregard at classify the gars as trash. Gars will out survive any sport fish with no help from government. They are the real deal!
I have shot them with a bow long ago, put them on the bank and in the morning put them in the water and watch them swim away. Same with bowfin. In the end it will be insects and critters like these.

Hey nice video. Love gar fishing. Those gar weren't coming unhooked they just decided to open their mouths. Takes a little time to make a good hook set an a gar . Enjoyed the variety of fish in a small hole.

I used a Rebel small orange crawfish that used to kill Bass. I have not been fishing in years but that lure reminded me of that. I used to fish in Holiday Shores quite a bit.

I've caught a 7lb buffalo on a size 20 fly. So small hooks still work for big fish

I'm impressed by your travelling times.
I live in France and in a radius of a 2 hours drive I could be fishing in the mediterranean sea, in an river coming down from the Alps, in the Rhône, in lakes and rivers around the spring of the Loire.
I can consider myself lucky with so many kind of fishes, fishing technics and landscapes and biotopes.
Should do some more catch and cooks like you did with the Asian carp. Drum and gar is tasty as well.
What I love you most as fisherman ,, you always have a net , just like me ,, so many fishing videos I yell they never have a net , I fish from the bank as you ,, been watching years , when you frist started ,
You should maybe get a bigger rod if you are gonna be throwing half pound baits like that. Just seems silly to throw it on a medium action when you could get a medium heavy/heavy rod for like $40.
