She's one of the prettiest models in this series
Wtf?
Nah it's Nina
They all are!
She really is none of the others really compare to her
Alex Meggoe just saying that all the models are very beautiful. I think they are all stunning. I personally have no favorites
OH MY GOD she is soon beautiful. Hawaii is one of the most gorgeous cultures ever. Wow
so*
Cliché C why thank you aloha
Princess Moana you're welcome you're so beautiful
I really wanna go to Hawaii, but it's been told that it's so expensive for the tourists.
DaNgEr88GiRL it's also expensive to live there because practically everything gets shipped from the mainland.
Looks like Hawaii survived the crazy 80’s! 😂😂
Its Vickyy I think they didn't show the right hairstyle for the 1980s. Because this is one of the hairstyles of Hawaii 1980 in which is common like all other hairstyles in the 1980s.
www.hawaiiwarriorworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Minaai-Portait-e1560753957648.jpeg
Its Vickyy Philippines too.
@@Mimi24177 still that hairstyle seems pretty good. Nowhere as crazy compared to most of the 80s.
This hairstyle kinda reminds me of 70's Stevie Nicks
The 80s look was based on a surfer girl, so makeup and seawater don't mix.
Wasn’t that family band the Jets from Hawaii or something like that
They wrote my fave song Crush On You
OMG! When she put up the ‘we are Mauna Kea’ it made me so happy! My family and I have been protesting all this week and have been since 2015 because of the telescope!!
whats happening can u explain it to me
yes i’d love to know what’s happening
In Hawaii its a movement against the construction of a telescope on a sacred mountain called the Mauna Kea.
@@iqudsia6157 thank you!
@@iqudsia6157 interesting 🤔, Goodluck to you guys 🙏🏾
Hawaii got some serious signature vibe lol. This country really has their own style
HaSiBuR RaHiM ups. Sorry
It was until the US forcibly annexed it.
+Ruth Coontz very true, but it's still not a country.
+HaSiBuR RaHiM it should be #freehawaii
+Joseph Burk #Hawexit!!!
Her beauty is unique and that is quite difficult to find nowadays!.I think Hawai styles are one of my favourite ones!
You should research the history, cause lotta shit went down when white business men held a gun to our last kings head and enslaved our Queen Liliuokalani.
That's a very blind statement, how can beauty change, ppl will always physically naturally look the same as ppl from 100yrs ago
I love how Hawaii didn't follow world trends, they basically kept it the same natural and classic beauty as ever ❤️
Her face structure is PERFECT her eyes have a really beautiful color and her nose is so thin I'm jealous af
Congratulations Hawaii you are one of the few countries to look good in the 80s. Also having the model dance was was a nice touch.
+HaSiBuR RaHiM It was until the 50s
cedeelbe but it was a US state in the 80s...
(a lot of ppl will fight you on that one) hawaii is unique in its location and cultural population so it experiences trend and beauty differently than america does, so its appropriate that it has its own video bc as demonstrated here we really don't mirror america exactly.
+Kamu very true, there is a part of us real Hawaiians that feel like we wish Hawai'i wasn't part of the United States. Our Islands were taken and people were raped and killed as it happened. and all of hawai'i is now 30% Hawaiians.
Hawaii is a country?
She is beyond gorgeous
Zoe Wright everyone is beautiful and gorgeous
She looks exotic
She looks a little like Aubrey plaza
I found the perfect actor for the live action, Moana.
What can I say except, You're Welcome.
Janelle Northcut she’s not dark or thick enough 🤦🏿♀️
@@TriniLush7 She can tan and eat more.
emilio arce nope, they can just pick a true native and be done with it 🤦🏿♀️
@@TriniLush7 then why can't Auli'I just be her own character?
Coach Trini that doesnt matter shes just gotta be polynesian
I love Hawaii's beauty because their fashion with nature looks so fresh and elegant
Anyone thinks she's gorgeous? 😍😍
Jericho Bullecer she is beautiful 😍😍😍
Jericho Bullecer So beautiful!
She is super gorgeous!
Yes, she is
Jericho Bullecer mee
How about a Native video like Native Americans or Aboriginals?
that's a great idea !
Yes, yes, and YAAAAASSSS
I'm curious to see how they'll make it
No! they can't. People will go crazy on them. There are a ton of diferent tribes that have very different style and costumes. By narrowing down all of those to just one, it will look very stupid
***** They can just use one tribe. It's not that big of a deal.
I love the ending “we are Mauna Kea.” If you don’t know about this protest for Mauna Kea, I would definitely do some research. And as someone who loves in Hawaii, it would mean so much (I would tell you my opinion on it but that should be your opinion😉)
I agree
There is already 13 telescopes there, funded by 11 countries, They wanted to build another, even bigger one, and some oppose and some don't, but this one has made the news for some reason.
The music represented the video gorgeously
it got me deeply moved, actually, i agree
This new style of 100 years of beauty vids is cool, but I like the timelapse ones more. Oh well, the model is stunning and the makeup was gorgeous. Great work! France or Turkey next please! :D
Also, #weareMaunaKea
yes France please !
Yaas Turkey or France!

Moana's time period was waaaay before the 1940s

Moana is Polynesian

Not everybody looks like the rock you ass hat.
Princessaa * Shut up. It was a joke.
@@cakemix5877 Okay and I give a flying fuck because?
It's sad that we couldn't go back farther to the precolonial days when our fashion wasn't influenced by outside forces. Most people don't know that many Hawaiian women bleached thier hair and cut it. And that some even wore the hair of ancestors, almost like a weave. And how beautiful our native kapa and certain lei and oils look on a woman to make her look even more alluring. Also, like other Pacific nations, skinny women were considered pretty, but a gorgeous woman had meat on her. Not obese, just well built and womanly, shapely and voluptuous, not like the western standard of skinny small even frail and delicate. To see a Hawaiian woman in the ancient attire is a special beauty to behold, because it was just a feast for the eyes, you could smell the lei she wore, and the fragrance of the Kapa cloth that covered her figure, and the tattoos she had would accentuate her features. Her voice and space would be even lovely because our language is poetic, so it would be a feast for the senses. Well......unless you were a missionary......
Are you Polynesian 3:
thank you for sharing this!
wow, this makes me want to go to Hawaii even more
Thank you for sharing this . I could totally visualize what you were saying .❤️🌸
This made me tear up 😭💕💕💖💖💖

finally, a place where 1980's fashion wasn't a mess
yep XD
Italy and Japan were at least ok at most during the 80's
+TheSmellyTomato bruh
😂😂😂😂😂 u need to seee how they look in the 80 s
japan /something called gangaru/mess
italy / long messy hair and bad makeup/I think
+the girls ganguro started in the late 90s. Not 80s, child.
I must be the only person who thinks 80's fashion is rather cute...
This might be m fav 100 years beauty video
jello kookie 2.0 same
Mine too perhaps :D
This isn't just fashion, it's a story.
the 1990's look is one i see in so many pictures of my hawaiian mom 🤣🤣 her and her sisters look exactly the same with the hairstyle too! such a beautiful and iconic look though
I have watched all of these videos and Hawaii is the only one who doesn't have an ugly hair style for the 80s... lol
have i ever found a comment so perfect
+Eli Browne 90's wasn't as bad as a lot of the 80's though lol definitely something that I would wear before the other 80's hairstyles lol
you forget the Philippines
Allison A JAPAN
Allison A yeah i was thinking the same ☺
she looks so pretty. 😍
What a beauty. I love her hair. I think I watched this over 10 times cause I am just so smitten.
God! She is so beautiful.
whoaaa Such a beautiful country!! They have a really amazing culture and their language is so beautiful.
Jackson c Hawaii isn't a country. It used to be a kingdom before Americans moved in and overthrew the monarchs. The amount of people who think Hawaii is a country is unbelievable!
Candice Muana I know is not a country legally speaking but for me is a country. I don't really care if Hawaii belongs to USA.
Jackson c even though it isn't a country, to me when I went there it did feel like one. And I absolutely agree with how beautiful you think it is. I miss that place every day. It was so peaceful being over there and you can really feel the respectful mentality in there.
I think they meant it 'land-wise' like the actual islands are beautiful...?
Hawaii is a state, not a country.
Haven't you done France? Omg I hadn't realized! Please!!! Do it soon :(
They didn't do france yet. :)
Probably, they keep the one of the most wanted for later..
+Abdurrauf Yusuf
So it won't be France
Me Maybe you no, it will be Britain
I encourage everyone here to learn Hawaiian it's an endangered lauguage. Only 8,000 people speak it fluently
Hiki au iā ‘ōlelo Hawai‘i akā no Kūlanakauhale ‘Okalahoma au. ‘A‘ole i nānā i nā mokupuni Hawai‘i.
I heard they (as in America) banned them from speaking their native language. Is that true?
I’m in love with Hawaiian culture. Their connection to water is just so cool to me

YESSSSS
yessssss, JAMAICAN right here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH MY GOD YAASS
XxxlilmizzzxxX yass
these videos are a constant reminder of why I'm gay for girls
Isabel Garcia Uh.. What are you trying to say?
Cindy99765
That these women are so beautiful and stylish and they remind me why I love women so much. What did you think?
Isabel Garcia No, I was confused because you said "these videos are a constant reminder of why I'm gay", so I thought you were implying that the girls aren't attractive, and that's why you only like guys.
Cindy99765
Omg... people always think I'm a guy
How many guys called "isabel" are there lol
There, the message should get through now xD
fun fact: the person they're doing the hair on is 116 yrs old.
I LITERALLY got chills down my spine from how beautiful she is! 😍
GEEZ HAWAIIAN FASHION WAS BEAUTIFUL
And the 80's didnt hit Hawaii to hard did it?
Nothing hit Hawaii to hard except pearl harbor. Fashion choices there were completely different💀
karen I think they didn't show the right hairstyle for the 1980s. Because this is one of the hairstyles of Hawaii 1980 in which is common like all other hairstyles in the 1980s.

The 80s are still very much alive in some of the Baby Boomers in Kaua’i 😂🤣
The model to me is one of the most beautiful in these 100 years of beauty videos. So unique and exotic, a very good representation of the ethnic diversity of their culture.
My favourite country and culture. She is magically gorgeous as well, her hair is gorgeous.
She's intimidatingly graceful.
omg, she is the most beautiful woman i've seen
they got this one right, also Hawaii was its own kingdom until the USA illegally overthrew us.
Kua Watson Get over it.
No you ignorant ass. What if the U.S.A was taken. Would you be all " Oh get over it, only our entire nation was illegally overthrown and occupied. dooooh.
ugh people like you make the sewers look like paradise. And your probably just doing this because you feel small and have to hurt others to make yourself feel better. just sad people like you exist.
nah because our country had achieved 95 percent literacy in 5 years and had electricity before the white house while you have a racist 3rd grader as your president and you should be embarrassed because you have the intelligence of a 5 year old. Oh and I forgot to mention that your being a racist pig and your arguing with a person trying to stand up for his broken country you sad fuck.
Kua Watson Actually, he is your president too. Remember? Hawaii is part of USA. Or are you too dumb too remember? And btw "Kua" is a dumb name.
i love her skin
Whoa they even included the manna kea protest event that was going on! I’m really happy they covered Hawaiians beauty
It's OKAY to be plus size and it's OKAY to be SKINNY as long as you are healthy ALRIGHT.

She has such beautiful eyes
i love hawaii . i really miss it. i went there and it was a experience of a lifetime
and i gotta say Hawaii's clothes throughout the decades were actually nice
She has such beautiful hair!
hawaii defeated the curse of ugly 80s fashion
I thought Japan and Italy had nice 80's looks
The 90's one didn't look bad either.
Uh,I visited Hawaii in the '80's & nope, not really! Also, They did wear alot of Mumus though which are ,Imo, uglier than any '80's fashion ( they were brought over by the missionarys to "Cover Up" the native women. 😕)
I love 80's fashion! We had to wear 80's clothes for a performance and I thought we looked cute!
Some of it was cute😌👌
i refuse to believe there can be anyone more beautiful than her
I was so confused as to how Hawaii had its own culture even though it was a state until I actually did research. Honestly I’m so mad to be an America
I like that as time passes they are always wearing flower on their hair.
She is absolutely beautiful
crazy to see how much american culture influences the cultures of so many other nations right around the mid century. in the first half of this video, hawaiian fashion seems pretty isolated from american trends, but from the 60s onward there are super clear american influences.
you can see it really clearly in the Viet Nam video, too, how the northern fashion is very influenced by russian/chinese/communist ideals and the southern fashion is more influenced by american/capitalist trends, and then once the country reunifies it's basically all american influence.
in so many of these 100 years videos you can see the influence of american trends become present all throughout the world. with the rise of faster communication, like tv and the internet, it was in some ways impossible to stop various cultures from crossing over and mingling, but america was very forceful in imposing their own culture onto other counties in this mid century period. they basically forced a lot of people living in their own countries to assimilate to american culture. it's seen really clearly here in the hawaii video because of the annexation, but you can even see it in a lot of countries that the U.S. didn't have official/political control over, they still enforced their culture as 'dominant'. it's like cultural colonialism.
it's fascinating to see the way various trends and styles affect the world at large, and these videos do a good job of demonstrating the broad trends of cultural change through fashion (even if they get a lot of specifics wrong), which is why i still come back to them. but it is really sad to witness all of those unique and distinct cultures that you can see in the first half of the 20th century if not wiped out, then seriously dampened, and to witness so many cultures and peoples shoved into forced homogeneity.
(of course the second half of the 20th century still varies somewhat from country to country, but you can feel the american influence lingering in almost all of them, which sucks away a lot of the uniqueness they had in the first half of the century. it sort of feels like a certain country's take on american culture rather than that country's culture in itself.)
i dunno, i haven't done much research on this, so i could be totally wrong. just something to think about.
To be fair, that how most cultures work. A dominant economic and political power in region export their ideas and culture to surround culture. Urbanites see the neighboring Empire’s might and try to emulate EVERYTHING from administrative practice to fashion. Basically everyone becomes weebs, anglophiles, or sinophiles. For example, France at one point was a great power and exported their fashions to England and Germany. China exported their hanfu robes to Korea and Japan which became Hanbok and Kimono.
My thoughts exactly as I've watched most of these videos. All the women are beautiful, but I felt sad thinking about the uniqueness of each woman's culture vanished.
@@sweetangel1051 ye its true everyone has the same style nowadays but idk why its a problem
Not in India.
Same it's so sad my island in th Caribbean had it's own culture and was so beautiful, it still is but it is definitely infiltrated by youths as generations go by who want to become and act more like Americans. Maybe there isn't a one thing alone caused it but what we do know is our country used to only have 1 channel on tv (which is local) and only sold local foods and goods and luckily we maintained that everyone here is equal for the most part unlike yk... because we're such a diverse country and we appreciate all the different cultures that made us who we are. Unfortunately as our country got access to cable, we got access to new ideas good and bad from what we saw on American television. Crimes like murder became more frequent (which mind u was unheard of.. a complete shock for the entire country if 1 person was murdered that year). We never had guns until we started trading with the US. Even police just had batons for the most part. Murder rates and crime have skyrocketed since. Local foods which are no worse than imported foods (maybe even better) are left behind because they're not as big enough since they're not pumped with hormones and fertilizers and pesticides etc. Children who were once very pleasant and respectful have now become extremely rude, disrespectful and spoilt. Not understanding anymore that if parents can't provide what they want now they're sorry but they're doing the best they can and they'll just have to wait until its possible... now imagine a thing as a child throwing a tantrum or worse yet shouting back at a parent...madness. I went to the US once in my life plus seeing it on tv my whole life, it's crazyy how parents let their children rule them and spoil them. Neverrr...not when I was a child and definitely not my children. Lol sorry for this longgg thing that probs got soo unrelated 😅 I went off on a rant but really and truly as a teenager who loves this island and seeing other children hating it and constantly bad talking it and wanting to go to America or just to leave and get out of here cuz its "so badd" and as soon as they reach there they be all like "aww my homee! I miss my country, I always loved it etc etc trini to the bonee" it gets a little old seeing the hypocrisy🙊

Wow she is so beautiful, and this video was so well edited. Loved it!
OMG. SHE IS BEAUTIFUL!! Hawaiian girls are so gorgeous!
The girl is beautiful, that's right, but what caught my attention are her dance movements; I always liked hula but she has something special that makes it look so unique, she is very graceful
Being part native Hawaiian and being born and raised here makes me love this so much!
She is gorgeous I'm crying out of admiration

I really like how it wasn't all that different. All very natural.
Is it just me or i think this girl is soo beautiful?

When I saw this video, i strangely thought of my country - the spirit was so alive there from the start till the end. You remained yourselves throughout diffficult times and we've gone through that as well - occupation is soul crushing. But you have stayed strong and that's inspiring. I can only wish you and other nations like that, one thing - independence. It's not easy and safe, but it's a great thing. Regards from a latvian.
