In April 2017 I left Australia for a solo trip around the world on a BMW F800GS. I named it “Are We There Yet” because I don't know my final destination or the duration of this journey.
Throughout my journey, I was raising money for a young disabled child in Poland named Franek. Franek was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (weakness of the entire right side of the body) and he will require constant rehabilitation for the rest of his life. I reckon it's best to have the option and do what's best for you at the time. Camping makes you really appreciate the luxuries of a room, a toilet and a bed, especially after traveling for days on end.
Ethiopia is a beautiful country with exceptional places to visit and wonderful people , safe travels
I enjoyed those beautiful, friendly birds. That was a magical campsite. It's shapely tree, the birds, the lake, the awning, the chair, the storm, the pasta, the moonlight, the sunrise, and the caretakers.
Reality..reality..reality. I surprised to see their cultures, nature and love. This video changed my thoughts about Ethiopia. I'm from India, living in Qatar. I heard about Ethiopia is poor country, more people will do robberies and it's not safe country for tourists. This is what heard from most of news and media. I'm really sorry. You showed us the real colours of Ethiopia. I'm happy to see this kind of true videos. Thank you Kinga.

I wish I had met you and/or follow you from somewhere just to end up in THAT spot. Very nice imagery, well supported by the background music with cleverly placed silences.... This was a really interesting ride - Ethiopia looks very dry. Be safe on your journey and don't drive through crowded marketplaces.

Big cities don't do anything for me either, love the open spaces-fresh air. Goats will eat anything. Those Donkey's were getting along at a fair old clip pulling the cart. Stunning view Kinga-& awesome camp site, what more could you want. Perhaps it was the video but the lake looked an unusual colour. I wonder how long it took for them to perfect how much a donkey was able to carry and how they carried the load-poor donkey. Some very colourful clothes in the market place and they all seem fascinated with your bike. Great video kinga and a fascinating part of the world. What a ride Kinga. The roads are not a party always haha. If you could call it roads. Your bike is doing very well during the journey.
I rode some of this in 95 & 96. Ethiopia has got busier, as has Kenya, I looked at that video too. Far more tarmac in northern Kenya & the roads generally are so much better (I went back to Nairobi to visit friends made on my motorcycle trip last Christmas). Unlike you my brother & I spent a fair bit of time in Addis. I broke a shock & had to wait for my original Yamaha one to be sent out from UK. My brother had a kidney infection & ended up on a IV infusion in British Embassy hospital. The tech is amazing. I have photos, slides & a diary to show for my trip. Salama Safari mingi sana!

I am a 61 year old motorcyclist photographer, I started collaborating with motorcycle rivals since 1987 I should have left by motorbike these days from Como Lake (Italy) to Magadan passing through Russia, Mongolia and Siberia up to Magadan and back. Unfortunately, again this year I have to cancel the trip, sponsors, magazines etc. I have to look after my 95-year-old mother and as long as she is alive for a while I stop traveling, I can't leave and leave her in a home for the elderly, I don't feel like it.
When she is, I will leave.
