Singaara Velavan vandhaan! Nice to have heard the rare combination of Violin & VeeNa. For so many years, to the best of my knowledge, Violin hardly accompanied a VeeNa in any Concert, whether it's in AIR or DD or in any other Concerts performed in public Except during the Vaadhya Virundhaa / Naadha inbam (Saerndhisai) Programmes - played together by all the Musicians for AIR Chennai during 1970's and 1980's. Would be delighted to watch one such Programme organised by MadRasana bringing together all the Musicians - a Violinist, Flautist, Veena vidwan and a Clarinet player ( I prefer Clarinet to Sax) and make them play a few select catchy Raagaas like, say, asaaveri / Dhanyasi, AArabhi / Shuddha Saaveri, Moganam, Hindolam / Shuddha Dhanyasi, Simmendra Madhyamam / KeeravaNi, Kalyani, Madhyamavathi, with or without percussion support. Such a Session would sound great, I believe.
