Kudos to the quartet; also to the sound engineer - they have kept the Thavil and Nadaswaram beautifully in the picture, without making them overwhelm the other two or disappear in the background! We all know that the Nadaswaram and Thavil can absolutely subdue everything else!

This is sweet trat for a Marathi who lived in Bangalore for 10 years and love Marathi and Kannada Classical. I love both the cultures and I feel every Marathi and Kannadi kids should proud of their culture and traditions.
It is Tamil classical, but wrongly given the name as carnatic. Tamils have used this music form and bharathanatyam for many thousand years. The carnatic brand name based on purandaradasar is only 400 years old.

@@BjorkStan-d1h the whole Ragas are actually Tamil ragas more prevalent in Thevaram & Thiruvasagam. During Vijayanagar kingdom they just gave a different sequence with Sanskrit names. Read the history of South Indian classical music. It is documented in Sangam literature about the Music and the Ragas used in those days with Tamil names. Even the Tyagaraja bhagavathar's Guru is a Tamil in Tanjore belt (where the Tamil Shaivism & Tamil music is flourishing). Tyagaraja just wrote keertans in Telugu language for the Tamil music which is prevalent even today in Shiva temples all over Tamilnadu. Just because English people are using Hindu-Arabic numerals today doesn't mean they came up with the idea. South Indian classical music originally belongs to Tamils. It was later adopted by others. 1000's of years old Thiruppugazh, Thevaram, Thiruvasam ,etc like spiritual & musical texts exist only in the Tamil language.

So its a childish thing to try to own everything belonging to only one region. The word 'Carnatic' can be interpreted as having its roots in the Sanskrit word 'Karneshuathathi', which is pleasing to the ear. I think ur confusing Carnatic with karnataka, Purandara Dasa is considered to be an incarnation of the sage Narada, a celestial being and singer. It was a collective work, with contributions from all kings telugu, tamil, kannada and marathi. Cherry picking of facts don't change the truth.

It's carnatic music not kannada clasical or it's South Indian classical music
