Ryan and Kari Walsh the creator/producers are here at my fish camp and working every day to get the best of this lifestyle, family and people around here. Lots of work still to do but we are moving towards our goals. This is just a short clip of a small part of our daily life taken today. Anyone interested in a signed copy has two options:

- Buy a book on Amazon and follow these instructions. (Many have done this and it has worked well. Done hundreds and no mail failures yet).
1. Get two 12.5 x 9.5" priority mail flat rate envelopes at post office.
2. Self-address and put postage on one envelope.
3. Address other one to: Stan Zuray, Box 77172, Tanana, Alaska, 99777 and put book and other envelope in it (folded) and signing instructions if any and I'll sign and return.

That's what the project will produce. 1 to 1 1/2 hour documentary or more. So much is up in air but we get more support all the time and time will tell but the filming of great stuff is under way I feel.

Heard y'all have been dealing with some crazy ass heat up there. Hope everything is going well for you. Try to stay hydrated.
Hits 90 many days and feel like heat stroke. Fish drying fast and some even cooked in sun by accident.
@@stanzuray works good for drying out vegetables and herbs, not so great for fish. Our local guys salt their fish when preparing to dry them out, to make the bugs stay off and keep it from rotting in this heat.
These were salted in a brine also. Fires up here now and so smoky all over.
At 53yrs old I think starting a lifestyle like that would be a bit challenging for me so I'll just play the "weekend mountain man" with my chainsaw and electric smoker.

Trapped a fair amount and did good on marten numbers. Joe doing fine and the salmon runs did better this year so far but lots still to go.

Smallest amount I've ever seen in your smokehouse Is that because of low fish or just getting started??

We are just starting and some has already been taken out of smokehouse due to fast drying in this heat. King salmon numbers while low are okay for a limited subsistence - non commercial take so we should get enough. Commercial fishing will not be allowed however.
You may need a taste tester im your man stan lol great stuff!

People come and just can't stop eating them.
is that fish for you or your dog team?
It is for both but the dogs eat way more fish each day/year than the family. They are perfectly good fish quality for people food.
