      It is amazing but bloody heavy. That brass bridge alone weighs a fair bit. 😂

    Nice Tely!
    In the reissue one, when the preamp is installed, the volume And tone pot from the tely is still available or now is for the preamp?

    I own one of these . They never seem to come up for sale. My next one I have my late on from TPP is the Townshend gold top LP deluxe #3 . The news ones are too high for me now . Hope to find a second hand one soon!

    Looks really good. The Police were such an amazing band. Got better with each album. Sting wrote some great lyrics, even referencing Jung and Köestler (for ernest, arty types like me). That tele is one of the many famous instruments that has bags of character, history and mojo.

      Can't beat the Police. A unique band that tread that ground of being able to write stuff with pop sensibilities but also musically very clever.

    Hi
    What pickups did TPP install it?
    And have you changed them

    • @Fogeyspasm
      @Fogeyspasm  4 года назад

      Both Seymour Duncan's. Can't remember the exact models but the came as standard.

      Poeple usually install a SH1 in the neck as far as I know, but I can't tell a SD tele model. I have a baja tele bridge saved for my mod XD but a SD broadcaster might be a nice fit. Sorry if I made mistakes, English isn't my mother language.

    It's ridiculous to buy a guitar with the same damage as that of your idol. (Even mores so, the 'epic' treatment in general.)
    But it's interesting to see how battered it is. I compared it to actual photos.
    And what changes it has. I hadn't paid that attention to it before, just had noticed the neck pickup.

    These mini toggle switches are accurate to Andy’s original Tele, as far as I can tell. The pics I’ve seen of the custom shop replica have paddle switches.

    • @Fogeyspasm
      @Fogeyspasm  2 года назад +1

      The switches are I believe in a different position rather than type I believe?
      Phase and Pre amp on are sited opposite to where they should be I think?

      @@Fogeyspasm looks like your guitar’s switches are very slightly differently placed. Which doesn’t matter. It looks great. Also a nice bunch of other guitars you have there.

    You seem to have better knowledge than the builder. How do you feel 4 years on. I’ve heard bad things about tpp!

      Been playing it today. Love it. No problems at all other than a twerk of the truss rod as I changed string gauge

    Hi,
    After seeing your video I ordered one a year ago, incl case.
    After receiving I can tell you.
    It's the most shittie guitar I bought.
    Wiring not according the Andys tele.
    Sorry but I think people have to know this.

      Mines lovely to play. I know what you mean about the wiring. The phase switch is where the preamp switch should be and vice versa. Also the pre amp is not like the original. Saying that nobody truly knows what the original was like as it removed at one time as it didn't work and Fender built a copy based on the Clapton pre amp.

      Andrew Conner I think what he meant was they used modern wiring and capacitors instead of the period correct ones.

    • @Fogeyspasm
      @Fogeyspasm  7 лет назад +1

      Sal Zulli Not sure Andy's had the period pots and caps as it was heavily modded by the previous owner, one of his students.
      Then various other bits were done by Andy himself. He said the pre amp didn't work for a lot of the Police years. He changed the tuners and Seymour Duncan replaced pickups as they apparently lost their magnetism when placed on the floor of a train in Japan. The motor de gaussed the magnets.

      Was this the Japan or USA version that TPP do?
      Would you consider the neck as vintage fat or modern?
