You missed that they put the rear pup in backwards (Hendrix style). Actually, the more sensible way IMO. More balanced with brighter lows and less ice picky highs. You could get away with an Esquire of that. No switch. Just use the tone/volume knobs to get it all from that one pup. I hate the way they make the neck so thin that the high E string almost falls off the fretboard by looking at it crossly.

Good points. Fender guitars with "modern" spaced bridges can avoid that problem with the fretboard width.
