Just a point for potentially stating obito isnt above pain or itachi. You can be stronger than an opponent and still be careful and not want to risk fighting them. Obito is a cautious guy and did a whole giant plan to try and complete project tsukyomi, he respects both pain and itachi as powerful and since there so strong there is a chance they can beat him so in his perspective, why would obito try to antagonise pain or itachi when he can just have them on his side and not risk fighting them. Thats why he can be stronger than the other 2 and still not want to fight them.

The entire problem with Obito vs Itachi is the fact Itachi is 1.) sick and 2.) never once comes close to going all out. Zetsu was absolutely puzzled by Itachi performance against Sasuke which makes sense when we see Itachi go against KCM Naruto. There's the fact Itachi at 12 years old is a rival to Obito in the novel. A post Minato fight Obito. Obito in the manga admits Itachi could kill him. Even in a movie such as Road to a Ninja its consistent that Obito fears Itachi and runs from him in his own genjustu. Kishi has literally shown in multiple mediums that Itachi basically beats Orange Mask Obito.

@@infiniteflash4236 it was just izanagi. Itachi planned amaterasu worked and damaged Obito. If Itachi himself saw that he himself would recognize izanagi and act accordingly. Edo caps your physical abilities and etc. Itachi benefited from edo regeneration. However physically speaking sick Itachi was very capable of all the physical feats he performed as Naruto and better as also hinted by Zetsu.
Nice video bro, here in Brazil there are a lot of Itachi fanboys who say that Obito is physically weak and even say that Itachi beat Madara in the Valley of the End, which just shows their lack of knowledge about Obito. Obito was able to stop Suigetsu's Kubikiribouchou, which is so physically strong that it was able to temporarily stop an attack by the Raikage in the level 1 yoroi cloak. Suigetsu's sword only broke because it was already damaged from the battle with Bee. Naruto mk1 himself admitted that he was strong after being attacked by him. On top of all that, he's also fast and can dodge the chakra hands of Naruto mk1 and mk2 and could still fight on equal terms and do better in a 3v1 duel against Naruto, Kakashi and Guy. I honestly don't understand why youtubers and people here in Brazil underestimate Obito so much.

Something I think is very worth touching on is a misconception about "Passive Kamui." A lot of the community seems to think that this means, for example, that Obito could be sleeping with his Sharingan turned off, and that his MS would literally turn on in his eye and activate Kamui if something attacked him. This is not true. "Passive Kamui" means that so long as Kamui is activated, Obito does not need to purposefully phase, or know about an attack to trigger the phase. It is passive *ONCE IT IS ON.*" This is proven when Obito tries to grab Rin's face after awakening Kamui and accidentally slips through her, forcing him to turn Kamui off to touch her. Kamui. Cannot. Turn on. By itself.
I’m of this opinion that’s it’s always active and he has to manually materialize which is where his reactions come into play. Also another good example is when Kakashi & Guy intercept Obito when he’s about to grab Naruto & Obito’s surrounded by dust meaning he’d have no way to see the attacks coming via shared vision.
@@ThunderGodTG I just don't see how it could ALWAYS be active. Like I get that he has good chakra but an MS ability being turned on for literally months at a time? I don't buy it. It makes much more sense to me and for the series' rules if it's passive once it is turned on, and that it must be turned on at all. Once active he can phase passively, for example materializing in the Summit, immediately turning Kamui on and therefore being able to phase through Ay's V1 attack. I also think Itachi's Amaterasu proves that it's not always on, as either Obito is the greatest actor in the world, or he was actually hit by Amaterasu (which would not be possible if it was always on AND passive) and had to turn on Kamui to slip through it once it was on him. I'm pretty sure Amaterasu is the only situation in the entire series where Obito is touched by something damaging while not also intentionally materializing himself to touch something else, thus opening himself up to be touched. But I may not be remembering some other instance.
The way I interpret it is that Obito’s Kamui is always going to activate secondary to him consciously materializing. Like the Amatarsu feat is a good example since you see him physically grab his mask to pull it off. I already mentioned the Kakashi Guy example which does favor this as Obito was not actively looking at or sensing them despite him planning to go solid to grab Naruto. Obito is implied to have slipped through the rocks while unconscious by Madara yet stopped at some point meaning it may only subconsciously be active while he’s awake. Obito honestly spends most of his time consciously materialized since he sits down and stuff like that. The Rin example is actually one in favor of this since Obito fights the mist shinobi using Kamui but, then slips through Rin when he’s not focused on her or Kakashi, despite consciously materialize and slipping vs the mist shinobi.

I'm not completely sold by the Kakashi/Guy intro phasing, but I admit there's nothing solid as to how he knew *not* to materialize there. Maybe they just struck a fraction of a second too early before he started to be material (since his reaction time is such that he would absolutely be able to wait until his literal atoms are touching his target's, and not a moment earlier), but I guess there's evidence for each point, since I think the Amaterasu situation is as good of evidence for me as the Kakashi/Guy intro is for you. I also love that Madara implies Obito Kamui'd through the rocks like weeks before he even awakened Kamui. WTF is that about?

A lot of people don't give any thought or put any stock into all the powers and techniques Obito has but almost never uses. He always has izanagi, and probably izanami, wood release, fire jutsu on par with freaking madara! Hasirama caliber regeneration, and he's so hard to kill! He had like 3 times in the war where he should have died but he just kept going. 😅

Also the 6 paths of pain are a direct counter to Kamui because the other paths can attack him while he’s making contact with Nagato

Generally I view it this way Orange Mask Obito over Pain and Sick Itachi but he isn’t so far above them that Obito isn’t blatantly obvious in his Scaling over Them.

We’ve actually almost never seen him run out of chakra (with the one exception being when he was almost dead already in the kaguya fight).

Also Kurama mistaking Obito for Madara isn't a mistake. The white Zetsu were cultivated using both Hashirama and Madara's chakra, not to mention traces of Madara's chakra is inside Obito's body like the heart seal and the chakra rods. In Boruto Kurama straight up tell Himawari he can sense her chakra. So in Kurama's perspective Obito is overwhelmingly oozing Madara's chakra through his entire body to the point he can be viewed as Madara himself.
My push back on the Obito dodging Kamui argument is that he can see the chakra attempting to manifest since he has a sharingan and thus gives him an advantage in dodging. On top of that it's HIS eye. Which in this series there is precedent for recognizing ones on chakra even if far away from ones self (the FTG seals, Kyuubi chakra in the kin/gin twins, etc. I would argue he can feel his own ability from range and knows when it is being used due to him knowing his own chakra.
The problem with this is that that’s a Byakugan ability to see chakra move into the pathways. The Sharingan can track chakra however, the time frame for this to occur still is just a feat for Obito since it means he’d be able to do it vs other fighters. It also has to be a speed feat since Obito actually couldn’t perceive Kakashi’s Kamui that sent Naruto into the Kamui dimension despite him knowing they were planning on it. So it’s 100% a legit reaction feat for Obito even including sensory or ability to see chakra - the reactions & physicals have to be close for Obito to react accordingly.
@ThunderGodTG sharingan allows for seeing chakra. Which is how Sasuke saw the nanite bombs of Deidara. For Kakashi to use Kamui the chakra would be actively appearing/gathering in that position so he could see it and react to it. Its a color. So if let's say for example it's purple. If Obito sees Purple chakra appearing by an area he could react and dodge it given his speed is sufficient. The main thing is he can see it and react where as most in the series can't until it's on them
It allows you to see chakra yes, but it wouldn’t allow Obito to track the chakra building to the Sharingan to that pinpoint level, and here’s the thing even if he did the feat still applies it just means Obito can also do this for other fighters since this is all happening simultaneously. I will say if Obito knew prior he would have said it before the chakra actually got to Kakashi’s eye but, A he can’t track it to that degree the Sharingan is more broad with sensing chakra’s, and B if he does it just means his reactions are just that cracked.
Obito is the strongest obviously if you are counting every member offical and unofficial. Pain is the strongest after that, (in reference to the famous statement)
I’d go as far as to say Obito was also fatigued during the fight against Minato. I mean having the full Nine tails under genjutsu for an extended period of time has to be chakra consuming.

I am strongly like "What was Six even talking about when he said Obito isn't that strong and rather weak without Kamui" and like "Bro, he was able to Genjutsu a Jinchuuriki once and had him like a sock puppet". The greatest problem for him to be the strongest is Pain (or Itachi if you think about it) but I feel like the times he does boast himself or others in a taunting way; Obito might have a solution for such foes. He had that second Sharingan for Izanagi in case he would die... IN CASE. So in case Itachi or even Pain would betray him; he would have a way to flex and beat them. He even thought of the possibility that Pain could have been defeated so it says a lot that he had a plan to deal with "God". Obito is frightening. I enjoyed this.
As always, awesome video, TG. What do you make of the fact that Minato thought of the KCM2 plan based on his assessment of 14 year old Obito? Does this fact not put Obito at 14 around KCM1.5 at the time of his battle with Minato? I'm convinced of this because on the night of the 9 tails attack, Minato considered Obito to be a bigger threat to the village than the 9 tails , and Obito's feats supported Minato's claims.

It isn't much of a stretch to say he should be significantly stronger (although not quantifiable) as he went from a teenage body to an adult one. Basically, every single shinobi who has had ambitions as lofty as Obito in this show has grown astronomically in strength, chakra reserves, speed, IQ etc. Again, this info isn't enough to accurately scale OM Obito, but it is noteworthy information when doing so. Amaterasu do be taking long af to actually burn, crazy how the Samurai armor wasn’t eaten through before Kankuro got to it, or how it didn’t eat through Karin’s clothing to her body immediately, or the Raikage’s chakra armor, or Naruto’s Kyuubi Chakra. All of these taking time to actually eat through meaning Obito is just faster than the Amaterasu can burn which isn’t actually that crazy of feat in the grand scheme, most people can’t do anything when Amaterasu is on them so it’s not that relevant except in this hyper specific example.

Something else to note on his physical strength is that KCM1 Naruto full power headbutted Obito's mask with the intend to brake it and failed. Obito broke his own mask with bare hands against Konan. Yeah it is not the same mask, but I doubt Obito is wearing a weaker mask when he is trying to hide his identity. Which is kind of insane. Yeah the Orange mask was damaged already, but this still is extremely overlooked

Everyone knows Kukuzu is the strongest Akatsuki member, dare I say a rival to Madara? Madara and Kukuzu are the only two to face Hashirama and live to tell the tale. Madara had to use hacks to survive. Jokes aside, it makes no sense that Kakzu faced Hashirama and didn't die. My headcannon is Kakuzu used to be extremely powerful, but overtime he grew weak like Hanzo.

Question: Did Tobi momentarily retract Kakashi's Mangekyo Sharingan to its original form to stop him from using Kamui on the Gedo Statue? Chapter 595, page 146, the third panel, if you zoom in on Kakashi's eye, it shows Kakashi's Sharingan in its original form but a few panels after, it shows Kakashi's Mangekyo, was that a manga panel error or did Kakashi's Sharingan just begin shifting back to its Mangekyo form when Tobi stopped interfering, as his Mangekyo pattern is only partially transformed on the bottom right panel.
Nah I mean there are manga paneling errors in Naruto like Itachi’s eye using Koto actually switching between manga panels- you’d either say it reverted or it’s just a manga error (not uncommon) & we’d go with the more consistent showings

The way you have to look at Obito is that you have to force him or bait him into a situation to materialize and have the stats to capitalize on it. FTG alone isn’t a counter to Obito it was the fact Minato was the one who use it & made the correct deductions to force Obito into a position which fit the criteria. Minato also did teleport the rasengan right on top of Obito in the manga compared to the anime where he does a 360 spin. The feat only worked due to it being Minato & how he used it give a random dude FTG and it won’t matter.
I think Obito is the strongest as well. I think that's the reason he was the puppet master of the entire Akatsuki. That's the symbolism. But I think the power debate in the Akatsuki is intentionally ambiguous. Kishimoto wanted Obito, Pain, and Itachi to be in the same tier, and to make the order of power ambiguous as a show of generosity to the fans. He didn't want to let down fans of one or the other, and he didn't want to play favorites. Because the characters are beloved, it was a great way to stimulate debate and keep the alive.

Given the Akatsuki was technically Nagato and Konan’s organization, it should be disbanded when they leave, so only pre-rinnegan feats should be counted. That’s why it could be argued that Nagato is stronger than that. Minato statements are not more important than feats. Pre-rinnegan Obito has never shown using 6 paths abilities or wood style w/o the swirl Zetsu boosting him before obtaining the rinnegan. Furthermore, Tsunade said that Naruto was stronger than Minato upon mastering Sage Mode. Obito struggled against Minato, but Nagato held his own against Naruto and would have won if Kurama didn’t take over.
Good video and you made some good points. However, as resident obito hater i have to point out a couple of misgivings and nitpicks. For starters, the comparisons too minato seems to be reaching in a lot of ways. While i do believe they were relative in that battle, minato shaking his arm to escape obitos grip does not indicate obito is physically as strong or stronger than minato. I have met people with very good grip strength that are overall physically weaker than myself. Nonetheless i did mention that i believe that obito and minato were relative in that battle but the issue is that minato has next to no concrete physical might feats. While that sounds outrageous, if you look into it, he battles obito (who we're scaling so we can't use that), the raikage who he fought was a jounin and the level of durability of his lighting vloak is unknown, ( especially as we see that lightning cloak durability can vary with the third requiring a rasenshuriken to be breached while the 4th required a chidori), the kick he took from madara blew him back. Saying he's physically strong because he didn't pop like a balloon seems illogical as even with overwhelming power relative to their opponents sp madara, and jubito didn't pop people like water balloons with their non jutsu aided punches or kicks. The only characters who did that in the series are tsunade and 8 gates gai. It'd be one thing if minato blocked the kick and was blown back a bit, maybe then it could be used for his physical scaling but he was blown away. He could have had internal damage but being an edo he doesn't bleed and it would fix itself without a visual confirmation. And finally, scaling minato halting 1/2 of the nine tails claw seems a bit esoteric as a number of the 9 tails other claws had already hit the ground and could've contributed to arresting it's finger's lunge. I have some other points but their just more nitpicks. Jokes aside good video but pain >obito
The Obito grip example would work if we didn’t see Obito physically restrain Minato again via swinging his right arm with that force being what makes the chains go tight. So we know consistently he should be physically stronger, I actually don’t really care about SM Minato surviving the Madara stuff that’s just some perspective you can easily say Madara held back to hit Minato into the fighters working to stop him. The way the claws are structured it seems to be the index or or middle finger which are longer than the others so the feat should still fit since it would hit first, like if you jab someone with your palm flat your longer fingers are gonna hit first with the rest following which would then slow down the strike. Just my 2 cents on what was said glad you enjoyed.
You bring up valid points throughout the entire video BUT the title of the video itself is wrong because of Itachi’s existence. Obito might be stronger on paper but Itachi is basically a foil to Obito in every way, implications throughout the story place them fundamentally at odds both narratively but also from a power structure in their relationship, they’ve resigned themselves to reluctantly working with one another being the last two surviving rogue Uchihas, but neither of them likes the other and both are weary of the other, but the fact that Obito held up his end of the bargain for Itachi’s entire life and only dated attack the Leaf after his death points to Itachi actually being the superior one of them, and also, when Obito first agreed to work together with Itachi upon Itachi’s request, as well as the fact that Itachi caught and confronted Obito sneaking around and not the other way around, everything points to Itachi being just blatantly the more capable Shinobi. This next bit doesn’t matter as much and just depends on how well you take non-canon/movie context, but in the Road to Ninja Movie Obito literally flees after being confronted by Itachi, noting that he’s a nuisance as usual. Also Itachi basically breaks down Kamui instantly in the movie, saying “based on your appearance I wouldn’t expect physical attacks to be of any use against you, however, I have other methods” as it zooms in on his left Sharingan which notably is the one he uses to cast Tsukuyomi, indicating that he would’ve approached a fight with Obito in a similar manner to Kabuto, to ensnare and incapacitate him with a series of genjutsu layered on top of one another, he was confident he could beat who he thought was “Madara” in a Genjutsu battle. I still think this video is an excellent breakdown of Obito’s character, I just wanted to point out that the title itself is debatably incorrect. I’d love to see your take on an Itachi breakdown though like this though.
Let’s be honest here, Obito was neither the strongest (Pain) or the smartest (Itachi). He is very strong yes but he was never the strongest, what made him a threat was not his strength but his insane intrigue and mystery, he called himself “Madara” and had the Sharingan. He infiltrated the Akatsuki and gained massive influence based on using others and only stepping in when necessary. It’s why he hid from the other Akatsuki members particularly Itachi because he knew he wasn’t the real Madara and didn’t want Itachi to know that, it’s why he also waited until Pain died until he took leadership in the Akaktsuki because it’s quite obvious he was never the strongest.
"Took leadership"? Funny. He was always the leader, Pain LITERALLY took orders from him and didn't dare to question them. Pain was nothing more than a pawn. And yes, Obito was the number one.
My bro he was never the leader, the manga portrayed him as more of a Benefactor or Advisor to Pain, he was never the leader. Obito was a master at deception and manipulation, look at how he lied to Konan by trying to break her will, he says he gave Nagato the Rinnegan (he never did, that was Madara), he said he spurred Yahiko to build the Akatsuki (he never did, the Akatsuki was Yahiko’s idea), he says the Nine Tails attack was a spontaneous occurrence that affected Konoha (lying to Saske). Obito repeatedly lies because he’s not who he says he is. He was playing as Madara, it’s why Konan openly rebelled at him whenever he tried to boss her around, it’s also why Pain never mentions him to Naruto during his invasion as if he was never a thought to begin with.

He took control of the early Akatsuki and was leading them all the time since then, he only retreated from public eye and allowed Pain to "lead" as a puppet. He didn't lie to Konan, he was ACTING as Madara, so he made statements in his name. Madara did give Nagato rinnegan. Konan rebelled against him because she believed in Naruto, there was no other reason. All other Akatsuki members, excluding Itachi who was working against ALL of them as a spy, were loyal all the time. Including Pain who knew his place as a minion. Pain didn't mention him? Well, Minato did. And he blatantly said he was the true threat after witnessing Naruto's fight against Pain.
Bro, he never commanded Pain they were equals or near equals in terms of being partners, however Obito still called Pain the “Leader” because that’s what Pain was, Obito even outright says “As Leader, I will not tolerate failure, he was referring to Pain as the Akatsuki leader. Look at how the data books call Pain the strongest Akatsuki member because that’s what he was, he was the strongest because he was the leader, why do you think the data books say Obito hides his powers, why would he hide his powers if he was leader, because he was afraid of Itachi, someone had to keep Obito in check and that was Itachi, look a how Konan planted 600 billion paper bombs, why would she do that if Obito was the leader? Because she never saw him as one, listen to her statements, she says she was watching him all those years because she and Nagato were planning on betraying him. There was clear conflicting interests between Pain and Konan vs Obito. Pain says he was planning on using the Tailed beasts as nuclear weapons and cause shinobi war by dividing them among nations while Obito was collecting them for Tsukinomi. These two ideologies were in opposite directions . In the Akatsuki novel Konan openly rebells against Obito when he orders her to find more information pertaining to the whereabouts of the five tails jinchuriki, the novels goes into great details by saying Obito glares at her with his Sharigan and Konan glares back, I don’t think that’s how you’d react to your leader and this is wayyy before she knew of Naruto. Konan never liked Obito from day one same with Nagato, they only worked with him because he knew of the tail beasts and after that they were going to betray Obito. Obito was never the Akatsuki leader though the organization’s goal was indirectly serving his purpose. If you really think his was the strongest and the leader and the strongest why didn’t he go for the nine tails and not Pain?

Just a point for potentially stating obito isnt above pain or itachi. You can be stronger than an opponent and still be careful and not want to risk fighting them. Obito is a cautious guy and did a whole giant plan to try and complete project tsukyomi, he respects both pain and itachi as powerful and since there so strong there is a chance they can beat him so in his perspective, why would obito try to antagonise pain or itachi when he can just have them on his side and not risk fighting them. The entire problem with Obito vs Itachi is the fact Itachi is 1.) sick and 2.) never once comes close to going all out. Zetsu was absolutely puzzled by Itachi performance against Sasuke which makes sense when we see Itachi go against KCM Naruto. There's the fact Itachi at 12 years old is a rival to Obito in the novel. A post Minato fight Obito. Obito in the manga admits Itachi could kill him. Even in a movie such as Road to a Ninja its consistent that Obito fears Itachi and runs from him in his own genjustu. Kishi has literally shown in multiple mediums that Itachi basically beats Orange Mask Obito.

Obito was able to stop Suigetsu's Kubikiribouchou, which is so physically strong that it was able to temporarily stop an attack by the Raikage in the level 1 yoroi cloak. Suigetsu's sword only broke because it was already damaged from the battle with Bee. Naruto mk1 himself admitted that he was strong after being attacked by him. On top of all that, he's also fast and can dodge the chakra hands of Naruto mk1 and mk2 and could still fight on equal terms and do better in a 3v1 duel against Naruto, Kakashi and Guy. I honestly don't understand why youtubers and people here in Brazil underestimate Obito so much.

Something I think is very worth touching on is a misconception about "Passive Kamui." A lot of the community seems to think that this means, for example, that Obito could be sleeping with his Sharingan turned off, and that his MS would literally turn on in his eye and activate Kamui if something attacked him.
This is not true.
"Passive Kamui" means that so long as Kamui is activated, Obito does not need to purposefully phase, or know about an attack to trigger the phase. It is passive *ONCE IT IS ON.*" This is proven when Obito tries to grab Rin's face after awakening Kamui and accidentally slips through her, forcing him to turn Kamui off to touch her. Kamui. Cannot. Turn on. By itself.
I’m of this opinion that’s it’s always active and he has to manually materialize which is where his reactions come into play. Also another good example is when Kakashi & Guy intercept Obito when he’s about to grab Naruto & Obito’s surrounded by dust meaning he’d have no way to see the attacks coming via shared vision.

I don't buy it.
It makes much more sense to me and for the series' rules if it's passive once it is turned on, and that it must be turned on at all. Once active he can phase passively, for example materializing in the Summit, immediately turning Kamui on and therefore being able to phase through Ay's V1 attack.
I also think Itachi's Amaterasu proves that it's not always on, as either Obito is the greatest actor in the world, or he was actually hit by Amaterasu (which would not be possible if it was always on AND passive) and had to turn on Kamui to slip through it once it was on him.
I'm pretty sure Amaterasu is the only situation in the entire series where Obito is touched by something damaging while not also intentionally materializing himself to touch something else, thus opening himself up to be touched. But I may not be remembering some other instance.
The way I interpret it is that Obito’s Kamui is always going to activate secondary to him consciously materializing. Like the Amatarsu feat is a good example since you see him physically grab his mask to pull it off. I already mentioned the Kakashi Guy example which does favor this as Obito was not actively looking at or sensing them despite him planning to go solid to grab Naruto.
Obito is implied to have slipped through the rocks while unconscious by Madara yet stopped at some point meaning it may only subconsciously be active while he’s awake.
Obito honestly spends most of his time consciously materialized since he sits down and stuff like that. The Rin example is actually one in favor of this since Obito fights the mist shinobi using Kamui but, then slips through Rin when he’s not focused on her or Kakashi, despite consciously materialize and slipping vs the mist shinobi.

I'm not completely sold by the Kakashi/Guy intro phasing, but I admit there's nothing solid as to how he knew *not* to materialize there. Maybe they just struck a fraction of a second too early before he started to be material (since his reaction time is such that he would absolutely be able to wait until his literal atoms are touching his target's, and not a moment earlier), but I guess there's evidence for each point, since I think the Amaterasu situation is as good of evidence for me as the Kakashi/Guy intro is for you.

A lot of people don't give any thought or put any stock into all the powers and techniques Obito has but almost never uses. He always has izanagi, and probably izanami, wood release, fire jutsu on par with freaking madara! Hasirama caliber regeneration, and he's so hard to kill! He had like 3 times in the war where he should have died but he just kept going. 😅

Pain Takes direct orders from Obito #OBGlo
Also Kurama mistaking Obito for Madara isn't a mistake. The white Zetsu were cultivated using both Hashirama and Madara's chakra, not to mention traces of Madara's chakra is inside Obito's body like the heart seal and the chakra rods. In Boruto Kurama straight up tell Himawari he can sense her chakra. So in Kurama's perspective Obito is overwhelmingly oozing Madara's chakra through his entire body to the point he can be viewed as Madara himself.
My push back on the Obito dodging Kamui argument is that he can see the chakra attempting to manifest since he has a sharingan and thus gives him an advantage in dodging. On top of that it's HIS eye. Which in this series there is precedent for recognizing ones on chakra even if far away from ones self (the FTG seals, Kyuubi chakra in the kin/gin twins, etc. I would argue he can feel his own ability from range and knows when it is being used due to him knowing his own chakra.
The problem with this is that that’s a Byakugan ability to see chakra move into the pathways. The Sharingan can track chakra however, the time frame for this to occur still is just a feat for Obito since it means he’d be able to do it vs other fighters.
It also has to be a speed feat since Obito actually couldn’t perceive Kakashi’s Kamui that sent Naruto into the Kamui dimension despite him knowing they were planning on it. So it’s 100% a legit reaction feat for Obito even including sensory or ability to see chakra - the reactions & physicals have to be close for Obito to react accordingly.
@ThunderGodTG sharingan allows for seeing chakra. Which is how Sasuke saw the nanite bombs of Deidara. For Kakashi to use Kamui the chakra would be actively appearing/gathering in that position so he could see it and react to it. Its a color. So if let's say for example it's purple. If Obito sees Purple chakra appearing by an area he could react and dodge it given his speed is sufficient. The main thing is he can see it and react where as most in the series can't until it's on them
It allows you to see chakra yes, but it wouldn’t allow Obito to track the chakra building to the Sharingan to that pinpoint level, and here’s the thing even if he did the feat still applies it just means Obito can also do this for other fighters since this is all happening simultaneously.
I will say if Obito knew prior he would have said it before the chakra actually got to Kakashi’s eye but, A he can’t track it to that degree the Sharingan is more broad with sensing chakra’s, and B if he does it just means his reactions are just that cracked.

LIKE... Obito is insanely OP. I am strongly like "What was Six even talking about when he said Obito isn't that strong and rather weak without Kamui" and like "Bro, he was able to Genjutsu a Jinchuuriki once and had him like a sock puppet".
The greatest problem for him to be the strongest is Pain (or Itachi if you think about it) but I feel like the times he does boast himself or others in a taunting way; Obito might have a solution for such foes. He had that second Sharingan for Izanagi in case he would die... IN CASE. So in case Itachi or even Pain would betray him; he would have a way to flex and beat them. He even thought of the possibility that Pain could have been defeated so it says a lot that he had a plan to deal with "God". Obito is frightening.

What do you make of the fact that Minato thought of the KCM2 plan based on his assessment of 14 year old Obito? Does this fact not put Obito at 14 around KCM1.5 at the time of his battle with Minato?
I'm convinced of this because on the night of the 9 tails attack, Minato considered Obito to be a bigger threat to the village than the 9 tails , and Obito's feats supported Minato's claims.
I think the issue is that there’s no actual quantification or way to outline Obito gets stronger aside from the fact they he kinda should be.

Again, this info isn't enough to accurately scale OM Obito, but it is noteworthy information when doing so.

Amaterasu do be taking long af to actually burn, crazy how the Samurai armor wasn’t eaten through before Kankuro got to it, or how it didn’t eat through Karin’s clothing to her body immediately, or the Raikage’s chakra armor, or Naruto’s Kyuubi Chakra.
All of these taking time to actually eat through meaning Obito is just faster than the Amaterasu can burn which isn’t actually that crazy of feat in the grand scheme, most people can’t do anything when Amaterasu is on them so it’s not that relevant except in this hyper specific example.

Something else to note on his physical strength is that KCM1 Naruto full power headbutted Obito's mask with the intend to brake it and failed. Obito broke his own mask with bare hands against Konan. Yeah it is not the same mask, but I doubt Obito is wearing a weaker mask when he is trying to hide his identity. Which is kind of insane. Yeah the Orange mask was damaged already, but this still is extremely overlooked
To be fair he does note the White Mask is a stronger mask made for battle, but I like the vision.

Question: Did Tobi momentarily retract Kakashi's Mangekyo Sharingan to its original form to stop him from using Kamui on the Gedo Statue?
Chapter 595, page 146, the third panel, if you zoom in on Kakashi's eye, it shows Kakashi's Sharingan in its original form but a few panels after, it shows Kakashi's Mangekyo, was that a manga panel error or did Kakashi's Sharingan just begin shifting back to its Mangekyo form when Tobi stopped interfering, as his Mangekyo pattern is only partially transformed on the bottom right panel.
Nah I mean there are manga paneling errors in Naruto like Itachi’s eye using Koto actually switching between manga panels- you’d either say it reverted or it’s just a manga error (not uncommon) & we’d go with the more consistent showings

The way you have to look at Obito is that you have to force him or bait him into a situation to materialize and have the stats to capitalize on it. FTG alone isn’t a counter to Obito it was the fact Minato was the one who use it & made the correct deductions to force Obito into a position which fit the criteria. Minato also did teleport the rasengan right on top of Obito in the manga compared to the anime where he does a 360 spin. The feat only worked due to it being Minato & how he used it give a random dude FTG and it won’t matter.
I think Obito is the strongest as well. I think that's the reason he was the puppet master of the entire Akatsuki. That's the symbolism.
But I think the power debate in the Akatsuki is intentionally ambiguous. Kishimoto wanted Obito, Pain, and Itachi to be in the same tier, and to make the order of power ambiguous as a show of generosity to the fans. He didn't want to let down fans of one or the other, and he didn't want to play favorites. Because the characters are beloved, it was a great way to stimulate debate and keep the alive.

Given the Akatsuki was technically Nagato and Konan’s organization, it should be disbanded when they leave, so only pre-rinnegan feats should be counted. That’s why it could be argued that Nagato is stronger than that.
Minato statements are not more important than feats. Pre-rinnegan Obito has never shown using 6 paths abilities or wood style w/o the swirl Zetsu boosting him before obtaining the rinnegan.
Furthermore, Tsunade said that Naruto was stronger than Minato upon mastering Sage Mode. Obito struggled against Minato, but Nagato held his own against Naruto and would have won if Kurama didn’t take over.
Good video and you made some good points. However, as resident obito hater i have to point out a couple of misgivings and nitpicks.
For starters, the comparisons too minato seems to be reaching in a lot of ways. While i do believe they were relative in that battle, minato shaking his arm to escape obitos grip does not indicate obito is physically as strong or stronger than minato. I have met people with very good grip strength that are overall physically weaker than myself.
Nonetheless i did mention that i believe that obito and minato were relative in that battle but the issue is that minato has next to no concrete physical might feats. While that sounds outrageous, if you look into it, he battles obito (who we're scaling so we can't use that), the raikage who he fought was a jounin and the level of durability of his lighting vloak is unknown, ( especially as we see that lightning cloak durability can vary with the third requiring a rasenshuriken to be breached while the 4th required a chidori), the kick he took from madara blew him back. Saying he's physically strong because he didn't pop like a balloon seems illogical as even with overwhelming power relative to their opponents sp madara, and jubito didn't pop people like water balloons with their non jutsu aided punches or kicks. The only characters who did that in the series are tsunade and 8 gates gai. It'd be one thing if minato blocked the kick and was blown back a bit, maybe then it could be used for his physical scaling but he was blown away. He could have had internal damage but being an edo he doesn't bleed and it would fix itself without a visual confirmation. And finally, scaling minato halting 1/2 of the nine tails claw seems a bit esoteric as a number of the 9 tails other claws had already hit the ground and could've contributed to arresting it's finger's lunge.
I have some other points but their just more nitpicks. Jokes aside good video but pain >obito
The Obito grip example would work if we didn’t see Obito physically restrain Minato again via swinging his right arm with that force being what makes the chains go tight. So we know consistently he should be physically stronger, I actually don’t really care about SM Minato surviving the Madara stuff that’s just some perspective you can easily say Madara held back to hit Minato into the fighters working to stop him.
The way the claws are structured it seems to be the index or or middle finger which are longer than the others so the feat should still fit since it would hit first, like if you jab someone with your palm flat your longer fingers are gonna hit first with the rest following which would then slow down the strike. Just my 2 cents on what was said glad you enjoyed.
You bring up valid points throughout the entire video BUT the title of the video itself is wrong because of Itachi’s existence. Obito might be stronger on paper but Itachi is basically a foil to Obito in every way, implications throughout the story place them fundamentally at odds both narratively but also from a power structure in their relationship, they’ve resigned themselves to reluctantly working with one another being the last two surviving rogue Uchihas, but neither of them likes the other and both are weary of the other, but the fact that Obito held up his end of the bargain for Itachi’s entire life and only dated attack the Leaf after his death points to Itachi actually being the superior one of them, and also, when Obito first agreed to work together with Itachi upon Itachi’s request, as well as the fact that Itachi caught and confronted Obito sneaking around and not the other way around, everything points to Itachi being just blatantly the more capable Shinobi.
This next bit doesn’t matter as much and just depends on how well you take non-canon/movie context, but in the Road to Ninja Movie Obito literally flees after being confronted by Itachi, noting that he’s a nuisance as usual. Also Itachi basically breaks down Kamui instantly in the movie, saying “based on your appearance I wouldn’t expect physical attacks to be of any use against you, however, I have other methods” as it zooms in on his left Sharingan which notably is the one he uses to cast Tsukuyomi, indicating that he would’ve approached a fight with Obito in a similar manner to Kabuto, to ensnare and incapacitate him with a series of genjutsu layered on top of one another, he was confident he could beat who he thought was “Madara” in a Genjutsu battle.
I still think this video is an excellent breakdown of Obito’s character, I just wanted to point out that the title itself is debatably incorrect. I’d love to see your take on an Itachi breakdown though like this though.
Let’s be honest here, Obito was neither the strongest (Pain) or the smartest (Itachi). He is very strong yes but he was never the strongest, what made him a threat was not his strength but his insane intrigue and mystery, he called himself “Madara” and had the Sharingan. He infiltrated the Akatsuki and gained massive influence based on using others and only stepping in when necessary. It’s why he hid from the other Akatsuki members particularly Itachi because he knew he wasn’t the real Madara and didn’t want Itachi to know that, it’s why he also waited until Pain died until he took leadership in the Akaktsuki because it’s quite obvious he was never the strongest.

My bro he was never the leader, the manga portrayed him as more of a Benefactor or Advisor to Pain, he was never the leader. Obito was a master at deception and manipulation, look at how he lied to Konan by trying to break her will, he says he gave Nagato the Rinnegan (he never did, that was Madara), he said he spurred Yahiko to build the Akatsuki (he never did, the Akatsuki was Yahiko’s idea), he says the Nine Tails attack was a spontaneous occurrence that affected Konoha (lying to Saske). Obito repeatedly lies because he’s not who he says he is. He was playing as Madara, it’s why Konan openly rebelled at him whenever he tried to boss her around, it’s also why Pain never mentions him to Naruto during his invasion as if he was never a thought to begin with.

He took control of the early Akatsuki and was leading them all the time since then, he only retreated from public eye and allowed Pain to "lead" as a puppet. He didn't lie to Konan, he was ACTING as Madara, so he made statements in his name. Madara did give Nagato rinnegan. Konan rebelled against him because she believed in Naruto, there was no other reason. All other Akatsuki members, excluding Itachi who was working against ALL of them as a spy, were loyal all the time. Including Pain who knew his place as a minion. Pain didn't mention him? Well, Minato did. And he blatantly said he was the true threat after witnessing Naruto's fight against Pain.

Look at how the data books call Pain the strongest Akatsuki member because that’s what he was, he was the strongest because he was the leader, why do you think the data books say Obito hides his powers, why would he hide his powers if he was leader, because he was afraid of Itachi, someone had to keep Obito in check and that was Itachi, look a how Konan planted 600 billion paper bombs, why would she do that if Obito was the leader? Because she never saw him as one, listen to her statements, she says she was watching him all those years because she and Nagato were planning on betraying him. There was clear conflicting interests between Pain and Konan vs Obito. Pain says he was planning on using the Tailed beasts as nuclear weapons and cause shinobi war by dividing them among nations while Obito was collecting them for Tsukinomi. These two ideologies were in opposite directions . In the Akatsuki novel Konan openly rebells against Obito when he orders her to find more information pertaining to the whereabouts of the five tails jinchuriki, the novels goes into great details by saying Obito glares at her with his Sharigan and Konan glares back, I don’t think that’s how you’d react to your leader and this is wayyy before she knew of Naruto. Konan never liked Obito from day one same with Nagato, they only worked with him because he knew of the tail beasts and after that they were going to betray Obito. Obito was never the Akatsuki leader though the organization’s goal was indirectly serving his purpose.
