Is it easy to find gym in siargao? Or its more like Vietnam ?
@@guzmannazabay There is this for example: maps.app.goo.gl/ig4usGe2AxgYEHyy9?g_st=ic :)
How do you access finances? Do you have a bank account or do you use a debit card that is accessible / usable in all the countries which you travel?
2nd question: do you need to know the local language to live in these five places on your list? Can you explain how do you communicate with people there?
@@StarryVids I use Revolut, the card works well everywhere :) And no you don't need to, English is enough. There's a bit of language barrier with the locals especially in Thailand & Vietnam. Philippines & Bali are better with that!
Hello, I would like to interview you about digital nomads life while you in Thailand , thank you?
Your channel has become my go-to for travel inspiration. Keep up the fantastic work - you're making a real impact in the travel community!
Thanks so much! Great to hear🙏🏽
I just discovered your channel and love it. Really well put together. As a 55 year old married man I love your budget breakdowns for the areas you spend time.I also like that you include cost for living a healthy active lifestyle. With retirement approaching I can see my wife and I enjoying our good health in many of these areas. Keep up the great work and live life boldly.
Thanks a lot man! I hope you enjoy your time🙏🏽
Downside?? No beach!
These places look amazing! Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure😊🙏🏽
As a Thai I'm glad that you liked Koh Phangan and specifically Chaloklum, very peaceful part of the island with great diving trips to Sail Rock
Glad to hear😊🙏🏽
Thanks for all the updated good information. Da Nang, Vietnam was a great place but I would recommend Hoi An as well. It’s a short distance from Da Nang and I found a great room for $15 / night in the garden city area closer to the ocean. They also had bicycles that came with the stay.
I enjoyed your vlog and all the amazing places. Thanks for making Relevant material.
I think Hoi An is good to visit but not sure if it's good for longer stay? Thank you🙏🏽
Love Hoi An!
As someone who wants to become a digital nomad in the next 2 years, this showed me some great insight. Thank you so much Joose!
My pleasure😊🙏🏽
thank you for sharing this video!

Great info Joose. Thank you for this one

This was a great video, I wish I had seen it before. Thanks

Two of us just returned a couple weeks back. We stayed in Nusa Dua and took excursions everyday. The traffic to Ubud was almost beyond belief; crazy.@@JooseTheNomad
@@scottterry5794 ah yeah Nusa Dua not my favorite for sure :/
What an INSANELY beautiful destination for Digital Nomads. Hello from Malaysia. We have also loved and have been to Bali, Thailand, and the Philippines 😍❤👍
Well done, brother 👏🏻. Been to 4/5 of these places and I’m scoping out places to live abroad in SE Asia next year. Got yourself a new sub
Thanks man! Which one you haven't been yet?
@@JooseTheNomad no problem dude! Da Nang. Been to Vietnam, but only in the north unfortunately
@@MitchellTravels ah nice yeah Da Nang is definitely a must!
Great video. Nice to see so many LCA peeps in it ;)

Thank you for this wonderful video. Really good to see KL is in your top 5 list of the most affordable and beautiful place for digital nomads.
Thank you!🙏🏽

What are you talking about?? Malaysia is a disaster and the nature is non existent. All that is left now is palm oil fields. 🤮

oh my god! thank you for mentioning Koh Phangan! I have been so so interested about this island because I read that it is built on rose quartz! And I am very interested in visiting and filming Thailand, very cool video thank you. I needed this video because my online business is still scaling up to a full time income but I need to get back on the road traveling and documenting while i scale the business. you have helped me so much with this video, thank u my friend.
So glad to hear😊🙏🏽
You inspired me to work remote in Da Nang for a month mate! I arrive on Saturday 🤩🤩 great video 👏🏼
Awesome! Enjoy😎🙏🏽
If you're still there and love Thai food, I highly recommend a Touch of Thai in Da Nang. Amazing authentic Thai food and super friendly owners :)

Great summary. Haven't been to Siargao but not surprised about the internet issue.
Thanks! Yeah luckily it's getting much better recently!

Thanks a lot bro🙏🏽
Helpful! Thank you
My pleasure man!
I spent 2 months in Da Nang. I loved it!
Nice!!🙏🏽
Thanks meeen for this informative piece .. Bali it is 🤝🤝
Glad to hear🙏🏽
Based in KL is a great option. From there you'll have access to all the tropical islands on fhe East and West within 4 - 6 hours drive or less than an hour flight. Not forgetting the highlands and national parks nearby.
Sounds good!
Canggu and Ubud is amazing. LOVE BALI
Yeees🙏🏽🌴
The Indonesians have been murdering West Papuans for many years since they took over their land via a corrupt vote. We won’t think about the hundreds of thousands they bussed out to Jakarta airport in 1965 and machined gunned into ditches. The real Balinese are lovely people but most of Bali is owned now by mega rich Javanese and foreigners. Boycott Indonesia if you have a social conscience.
Nice video. Great to see Da Nang on the list 🏝️
Thanks🙏🏽
Hello! I have been working in all the places that you said, and I totally agree with you, just comment that Siargao has changed a lot and now has a better internet and it has developed to be more comfortable for Digital Nomad
Awesome! Yeah I'm so excited to go back to Siargao in a couple of months!
Hello my gf and I are looking to move out of America to the Phillipines this fall to get away from the toxic western lifestyle if possible do you have any remote work for us we are still young (19 and 18) but we are very determined on this matter and can work for a cheaper salary so we can move out as soon as possible it would be greatly appreciated if so I can send you my email so that you can get to know us and decide if were a right fit.
Wow, all beautiful places to stay in Southeast Asia for the digital nomads, and KL is the only city in your top 5 list, others are the beaches paradise.

@@JooseTheNomad 😀
Hey. Great video. Where are you staying in Canggu when you filmed this? Looks awesome.
Very good information! I'm retired and just spent 4 months in SE Asia. I stayed in Siem Reap, Bangkok, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, Nepal (Pokhara). I'm recharging back in Texas, but I can see another trip in the near future. I'm not working, but I do blog posts for fun. I appreciate the suggestions. I haven't been in Bali in about 12 years. I look forward to your next video. Thanks!
Thanks so muchn sounds like an awesome trip🙏🏽
Cambodia vs thailand
@@nellatl thailand!
Cheers Doug. Do you agree with these recommendations and do you have some other places you suggest.. Being retired, is a bit different to being a young Digital nomad ha ha. I'm in the same category as you are.
siem reap, good internet, cheap accommodation, cheap beer, cheep food and easy visa which a lot of people seem to over look
What's nice there?
Siem reap have Angkor wat . Sihanoukville have Koh Rong , Kampot have paper
Siem Reap is a charming, smaller and laid back place with tons of tourist infrastructure and guest houses where you can get a nice private accommodation. Cambodians are super kind, humble. It's very inexpensive there. I'm convinced that I could get an annual retirement visa if I asked. I'm thinking about it.
@@doug5246 Sounds good but what about the lifestyle there? Beach? Gyms? Activities? Food?👀
Same. Can’t go without great gym or beach.
Great tips! Thanks! What mic and camera do you use! The quality was so good!
Thanks! I use Iphone 15pro with DJI mic nowadays :)
Awesome thanks! Heading to Da Nang in 2 weeks time for their NY! Super excited.

I loved Dan nang and Nha Trang

omg! I had no idea about Kuala Lumpur being one of these types of places!!!
One of my favorite coworking spots Tribal 👌🏽
Yea I really liked it too🙏🏽
Hi, thanks for your great contribution. I have seen in your video you are travelling with a friend. So it this budget only for yourself? Or is it paying both bills? Or does she pay the same amount, too? Its normally a big differen if travelling allone or with a friend. Thank you
These budgets are doable as a couple yes😊 I mean the main extra cost is food compared to being alone.
Koh Phangan is not cheap anymore , lived there long time. Psytrance heaven. Đà Nẵng is my favorite place in Vietnam. 🙏
It still can be relatively cheap :) Da Nang is awesome tho!
TRIBAL homies! 🙌
😄🙏🏽
Yes, I agree. Among them, Canggu is still the best, although it may be overrated. Not only does it offer a wide range of food choices, accommodations, communities, and activities that can be tailored to different preferences and budgets, but most importantly, it is currently the largest digital nomad hub, allowing us to have a broader exposure in business.
Nice video, can't wait to watch more from you!
Yes exactly! Thanks so much🙏🏽
Love Bali, indonesia🇮🇩
Yees❤️
Wow! So inspirational! I build websites and was laid off recently. I want to do this but a little bit of fear of how this will all work and how can I connect with people as I would be doing this likely solo for a few months.
Thank you! It's so easy to make friends in many of these places! In Koh Phangan and Siargao the most but also in Canggu and Da Nang :)
Just came back from Hanoi planning to go to Da Nang soon
Nice! Enjoy🙏🏽
can you attach the link to the airbnb you found? the one from da nang was pretty!
El Nido, Philippines is amazing too ❤
Not sure if it's for long stay for digital nomads?🤔
Just found out your channel. Loved the cost breakdown for each places. We are moving to Bali in June and looking for a nice place by the beach In canggu area. Do you have any recommendations for such places?
Hey man! Thank you for tips! :)
My pleasure😊
nice places, Taiwan is also very nice too

Hello , any advice on where to go in South east asia for 2 weeks in August? Love your content!

Hahahah nice! Thanks man🙏🏽
Loved rhe video bro ❤
Question is there a visa for digital nomads in Vietnam or how long do you stay in each country?
Thanks bro! Always depends on country and how long you wanna stay. For example in Vietnam, they have 30-90 days eVisa so you can use that and visa run is always possible if you wanna stay longer!
Thanks man 👍🏼 great vid
I know you were trying to get a lot of info out there … but maybe a little slower next time 🙂
The place where you are is tribal canggu I was here a beautiful coworking space and hostel
Yes it's a nice place😊
im in nha trang vietnam right now. its my third city in a three month. first two were da nang and da lat, first impression about nha trang is that it’s much cleaner and a bit cheaper than da nang. both in foods and apartments
you should definitely visit it if you haven’t been here
I have been there and definitely prefer Da Nang :)
@@JooseTheNomad i’ll give it one more chance later. maybe i got bad experience because of living near son tra mountain and bad apartment
@@oleeeeeg yeah I really don't like that area, My An is so good :)
Hello, thank you. I am from Algeria. I want to spend a holiday on the island of Bali. Do you have any advice? I wish you success
killing the content Joose! I am moving to Bali in march thanks to you and your videos, along with your Bali guide. We will have to meet up since I am into the same things as you: RUclips content creator, online business owner, love the gym, ect!
Thanks bro! Thanks for the support🙏🏽 I will be back in Bali in June! Enjoy and let's catch up later!
Hi, it’s my dream to move to Bali? Are u permanently moving ?
@@Rose-gh4yz I am booking a one way and staying as long as I enjoy it. I might try other places in SE Asia as well but want to establish bali as the hub
First time I agree with someone on destination selection!
I must mention that Siargao has extremely unstable internet and power outages are very common. I experienced a similar issue in Palawan so in general, I find the Philippines not very digital nomad-friendly, despite being such a beautiful country!
Regarding Kuala Lumpur, I've been there and I was pleasantly surprised as well.
My only disagreement is with Canggu, but I'm a Bali hater so don't judge me haha
Awesome🙏🏽 When's the last time you were in Siargao? I heard most places have Starlink now so Internet situation should be much better! And yeah Canggu is not for everyone but have you tried staying in Pererenan area? :)
When will you be in Da Nang? I’m planning to visit in Feb-March 2024!
In April!:) enjoy!
What camera are you using? The video is so clear and crisp, colors are so vivid. Is that due to the camera you used or bec of enhancement / edit?
Thanks! I used Iphone 14 pro before and now 15 pro :) I just add a bit saturation on edit!
Exactly what I was wondering.
@@jonklause5130 Also filming in 4K 60fps wide angle looks always good!
Please include chapters. Otherwise keep up the good work 💫
This is a Great list but mostly focussed on Southeast Asia. South America is a wonderful place for affordable options for location independent workers. Although I live in North America, I try to spend my money in countries where it will go further. I look for the same commodities that I have in North America but for a fraction of the price. That not only means cheap but reasonable quality of life, including safety, and health. Water is a big deal for me. I don’t drive and I don’t like having to carry big jugs of drinking water to my accommodation regularly. From my experience delivery services abroad are often unreliable. So I found a great place with healthy drinking water and all the commodities I need for the fraction of the price which is Bogota Colombia. What is great about Bogotá is that you can actually get a residency visa if you invest in buying a property and the cost of properties is again a fraction of what you would pay in my country. Thanks again for this video.😊
Thanks! Yea for sure many cheap options there but does the lifestyle compare? There's no ocean & beach either? Way less safe than here? It's not by accident that I have stayed in this area for so long☺️
@@JooseTheNomadYeah, by accident as it’s the places you can afford. Colombia is to expensive for him. There is not way he will find such a life style in any Latin America countries for the price you pay in SEA! I’ve been to both and obviously not comparable.
Canggu, Bali is definitely more livable. It has so much to offer. Unfortunately, it's getting more expensive and busier. So if people who want to come are okay with that, then it's definitely the best option for a longer stay.
Yes exactly! And the food is still very affordable in Bali, same with renting a scooter. Accommodation just comes down to knowing how to find a good deal😊
Guess I might have gotten introverted the older I’ve gotten, because meeting new friends is not something I factor into a destination. But again, that’s just me.
Awesome video.
It's not the most important for me either😄 thanks!
Same..
Da Nang is the place bro. 👍🏽
Yees!🙏🏽
May I ask which vlogging camera you use? Kiitos
Iphone 15 pro! Ole hyvä :)
I've been looking for the best places for digital nomads outside of Southeast Asia because I wanted a different vibe but there is literally no place that compares to Southeast Asia, there are so many good places around the world But you will not find luxury like Southeast Asia, and if you find something close to it, its ridiculously expensive. There are some places in Latin America, Turkey... but they are still very far..
Yeah I feel the same! Only Cape Town & Playa Del Carmen seem to be comparable but still not the same as here haha..
Brief and to the point, thanks! What do you think about Lombok comparing to Bali?
Thanks! I actually never been to Lombok yet, will check it out next summer!
I prefer Lombok than Bali tbh, less tourists, no traffic, better wider roads, much more cheaper. Just need to know where you wanna base, with the expat crowds or away from them 😅
@@sparcousa I couldn't find a nice place to stay with a makes sense price is Lombok. What's cheaper there?
@@JooseTheNomadif you wanna be in a mini Canggu (catered for westerners and where most of the digital nomads, surfers are based), Kuta Mandalika is the spot, with white sandy beaches and tons of empty ones as well. From there can always do day trips to the waterfalls up North, island hopping on the West and East coast, and then there's the famous Gilis where most Bali goers ended up to party, all within roughly 2 hours away from Kuta Lombok. There's Senggigi as well, a coastal with black sand town when tourists hang out it's to the Gilis where people hang out as well. Expenses over there is half of what you'll spend in Bali. And oh, to answer your question, what's your budget like and how big of a room/villa you need?
@@sparcousa yeah thanks! Just to say, I love Bali for so many things tho it's not just about the negative of having lots of tourists. But yeah I want to see how it is in Lombok too and just need a clean nice room in a guesthouse, nothing fancy but decent in a nice area :)
Great for da Nang for a Vietnamese
What do you mean?
Would you recommend Da Nang for a 19y men ?
Depends what you want. If you want to meet people and party, etc. Canggu would be better :)
Fantastic video! Which of these places would you say is the least touristy and also which has more Yoga/Meditation-type vibes?
Hmmm you mean less foreigners or less people? All I guess in a sense are "touristy" but Siargao is the most integrated with the locals and have nice yoga places! Koh Phangan has that vibe a lot too!
@@JooseTheNomad Thanks for the reply and info! Yes I meant British tourists specifically 😂 Also would like to be somewhere with good surfing lessons and other water sports like jet skiing but looks like Siargao and Da Nang would be best for that?
@@Spiritandvitalityplus50 hahahah yeah not too many in these places😄 Siargao definitely best for surfing! There's also wake park and jet skis!
@@JooseTheNomadNice man! I hope to live this life within a couple of years and my company also allows 1 month a year working from anywhere which is cool.
Out of curiosity, have you ever come across any venomous snakes, spiders or other animals that can seriously harm you as you travel SE Asia? I hear a lot about poisonous things out there but maybe it’s not so bad?!
@@Spiritandvitalityplus50 nice, hope you can do it soon! No you rarely come across those things here, it's not like Australia haha. I only once saw maybe a cobra in Ubud in a jungle resort😄
Penang is a fantastic, quieter alternative to KL if your taste falls between Canggu and KL.
How about Nha Trang, i belive u were there also?
Yes but Da Nang is better in my opinion for a longer stay :)
You mentioned it’s difficult to find digital nomads in Da Nang. We’re currently touring Vietnam, and looking to find other like minded people. Curious to know if there’s any hidden gem spots in Da Nang, you found, that we could meet other nomads? Or if there’s any specific cities in Vietnam, that you found a good nomad community?
I met other digital nomads on the beach and cafes on the Mỹ An area😊
For example there was often people working on their laptops here: maps.app.goo.gl/tfooSebo3vKrs2Wj8?g_st=ic
Do you have a tour guide for Bali?
I have Bali Life Guide: www.travelinghawks.com/courses/the-ultimate-bali-life
Hey man! What's the difference between Nomad Insurance and Nomad Health? I would like to purchase but I dont know which one. Thanks
Nomad Insurance is a travel insurance that covers accidents and sudden illnesses. Nomad Health is more comprehensive health insurance for nomads and expats that covers things like screenings, dental care, etc. For example if you'd get diagnosed witth diabetes, it would cover the costs related to that long term, I think.
Great video. However I was checking the prices in Ko Phan Ngan, and they are crazy expensive. I checked both Air BnB and booking. This was for the month of February 2024. Like triple plus the cost of what you have in this video.
Thank you! Maybe because you're checking very last minute? It's high season but there was still many options $600-1000/month when I was looking back in July. Anyway, did you check facebook?
I’ve not joined the groups in your video. I’ll do that and see. Phuket had much more reasonable prices. I will end up there I say. Thanks
@@francolaudadio193 in Patong? I like to stay in Rawai area in Ohuket and the prices seemed to be even higher than in Koh Phangan😳
How to work as a digital nomad , where to apply for these remote jobs ??
