Do women really use this type of criteria to vet a man? What makes these things so desirable in men?

    Hi Erin!
Based solely on my experience. I am divorced, I attempted three separate relationships after my divorce.
As soon as a guy gets into a serious relationship with a woman it becomes her mission to change him.
That is one reason why I have gone my own way.

Perfect marriages or relationships aren't real; they're all different. What works for one person might not work for someone else. But I've come to understand that there's always a solution to problems. Five years ago, my wife and I were close to divorcing because of issues in our marriage, but we found a way to fix them. It was tough, but we survived.

I have someone special in my life, and even though we're not together right now, I can't imagine living without her; my love for her is deep. I really hope she comes back, and I'm fully committed to making it happen. We've tried different ways, like therapy, to make things right.

The whole bit about the moms really hit home with me. Everything you said made sense and is something I've come to a realization too.
My mom was not a single mom nor a bad mom...she just didn't heal from her childhood traumas. She has some of the feministy ways of thinking. I'm fortunate I found the red pill to unlearn some of that stuff. Not that my mom is a bad person...she is still married to my dad (they are happy)...she still believes in gender roles...she's not promiscuous.
But her whole thing that she drilled into me was that "asian men are crap". Anytime I would point out that I am asian she would cut me off and say "no, you're American." I too was not really allowed to express my feelings because I am a man...etc. But she loves me. She's a tiger parent to the nth degree. She's been there for me when I needed it. She's been encouraging and proud about my accomplishments (and she lets me know it 😊).
but a lot of things you said do resonate with me.
of course...the whole low self esteem because I'm asian thing..nothing she ever did was as harmful as American society in general is towards asian men. look at how we are portrayed in the media. look at how we are rated on attractiveness by the opposite sex by the supposedly tolerant, enlightened and understanding "western woman".
    hey...it is what it is...

      @fredsas12 5 месяцев назад

@@cosmictreason2242 Yep, its really just label after label after label to cause more stereotyping and more problems. This is why I stay away from "flags" in general. All humans are flawed in someway. If a women ever mentions "insert colour" flag either to me directly or in passing, then I know she is the type that has no issues shamelessly discriminating against men in general, and thus I'll give her a wide berth. One of the reasons relationships no longer work in the modern era is because of too many labels that take on a significant meaning on their own, when they really shouldn't.
According to all those "type of man" labels, I'm apparently a sigma male. This implies I don't care what anyone really thinks, be it the Alpha male, or the boss female bi-atch (Oops, I'm a Gen-Xer). I can tell you this is 95% true, I'm also a Libertarian politically and an INTJ personality type if that also adds anything to the mix. Ironically at the end of the day, I'm not really concerned about my own labels that much either. I live my life to my own (apparently very high) standards and I am neither compelled to force anyone to accept them, nor accept anyone or doesn't me. I simply walk on.

Parent and child relationships: I agree that, if your parents were involved in your life growing up and helped you explore your interests while being examples of what a man and woman should be in a healthy household, it does affect your relationship with the opposite sex in a positive manner. I, however, seem to have a complex relationship with my parents. Though it was mostly healthy showing me each of the parents' roles, I was never cuddled or received hugs lasting longer than 1 second which has made me distance myself from them while still respecting them and being open to spending time together if they choose to do so at the same time. From that lack of attention, I have developed a strong Physical Touch and Quality Time Love Languages.

Work must be treated as a means to an end. Hobbies characterize interests and common bonds and gives a teaser of ones character, but their actions over their words is what really deliniates their character. I recently seen a random youtube post of a young lady (27) that has kinda of realized she wasted away a lot of years being addicted to social media. She said she has been on since 12 years old. She started a RUclips channel thinking of the fame and fortune of being popular, yada, yada. She doesn't mention one time in a 25 min. video about starting a family. It's all about poor me I didn't make it as a RUclipsr, what am I going to do now. The comments didn't help either so I spoke up and said that she should start a family, that's what humans do. I have a feeling there is a lot of young ladies out there that just don't have a clue. I don't think they know what to do, seriously. There so caught up worrying about other people on the internet that they don't do anything, literally. My futrure son in law approves of me wanting to start a RUclips channel because he says that he has spent so much time on the internet that he never learned how to do anything. He said that there are a lot of young people just like him that need help learning basic things like changing a tire or a headlight. Or how to hang a picture on the wall or clean out a drain. I can't say that I'm suprised. Everyone is stuck to their phones. I went ahead and started the process. I got a name picked and some pictures. Made a new email address. I'm going to start filming this weekend. I'm sure it will be cringe to start with, but I'll get better. Wish me luck! Hello Erin and Lola, thank you for the video! See you soon.

@@cosmictreason2242 I live an active life. I just haven't run into any decent available women. I've had women express interest in me, but after I learn a bit about them... no.

@@tdrive398 know that feel. Most women i can "pre-ject" without the need for a relationship of any kind. Only 4 have gotten past my filters and been available and seemingly virtuous enough to make a time investment worth it, and one crossed my physical boundaries and had one sided expectations of compromise, three others declined my overtures, one was pining for another and still is, one recognized me as a good catch but i was not exciting, which she covered up by saying she was busy but please try again in 6 months, and another gave overt signals with flirtatious smiles but then evidently found me unattractive, and declined without any deeper indication. Granted the one that i actually briefly dated developed a crush at first sight because i was 40lbs lighter than with the other girls, but i have personally considered women with good character who are thicker than i want them to be, because I'm willing to give them a chance. They might lose it before i speak to them. I have not presumptively rejected anyone on that basis. Obesity sure but not 10-20 lbs overweight. So i think I'm less shallow than the girls I've met. I think there's too many negative adjectives and yt might nuke this

I recently got to spend an hour or so with my sister’s bestie who has a daughter who was the well paid income earner and the husband stayed home and raised their daughters. Fast forward and hubby is cheating on the wife and disrespecting her in front of the still young daughters and they end up divorced. Well, guess who got custody and a substantial alimony and child support payday in divorce court? Yes, the cheater dad is making out like a bandit and the major money earner ex-wife is getting the shaft.

I know a male DJ who is now father of three children and married. And I don't believe he would ever cheat. He is many other things too "a criminal" that never got caught. Not that he did anything evil, he just broke the law, which is not the same as being immoral. He will protect his family whatever it takes. He is his own man.
