My list of cons. Worst driver’s in the country. Terrible winters. High property taxes. Terrible roads. Omaha public schools is a joke of a school district
Number one CON for me is the driving habits of Nebraskans. Seriously, they are the worst in the country. Every drive to anywhere is a scary experience, especially intersections. I've never seen so many drivers run red lights. We need to start videotaping our daily driving experiences. Beware driving in Nebraska.
I don't live here, but I will say this if you don't like it here why in the world wouldn't you move somewhere that you want to live?? I've never understood why people live where they hate it, it's the US!! Live where you live it!!!
I hear ya! Hope I didn’t give that impression! We love it here and plan to be here as long as God allows ☺️. just trying to share the things that have stood out most to me as an outsider moving in. 😉
I was born in Omaha but left as an infant, have visited Omaha many times and is a very nice city compared to most, I guess people say boring ,they're spoiled, nothing wrong with just plain nice people, believe me,I lived in Denver my whole life and what a mess we have here, it totally insane!!
If you want to sell some houses (homes) hit the DENVER MARKET, people with families want to escape this once great family friendly area for some sanity with great schools and wonderful people -- sounds like you have both!! Plus Real estate here (Denver) is totally insane!! Most people can't afford a home, $800,000 for a shack!! Your welcome!
Property taxes should not be as high as they are. Not when nebraska rakes in 900million dollars in lottery ticket sales. I don't see the benefit. I'm almost sure I'm paying for somebody's early retirement while I work into my 70s. I'm out next year.
They definitely are higher but J guess I’ve always viewed it as we have a whole lot of state for our population and a pretty amazing school system. So the taxes must be making an impact somewhere.
Very cool: thank you! We’re almost SURE that it’ll be Omaha! Des Moines is also a thought
We drive through there often! Definitely smaller but still very convenient. Let me know if you ever have any questions I’m happy to help how I can!
Love love love it! I may have to move to Nebraska! The pros DEFINITELY outweigh the cons!
So glad you found it helpful! Even though I call the east coast home Omaha has definitely won my heart! Thanks for watching!

And what are your FAVORITE things? ☺️
You mailed it.
Property taxes are through the roof. Drivers horrible.
Worst drivers? Go to Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee. They have their reputation for a reason.

Sounds like you wouldn’t mind moving back this way some time. 😋 Yes, I definitely love the family friendly aspect of Omaha!
Florida is that way. Half the people hate it there after 1 year if moving there.
