i had to do some design work for a program at our company. when they asked me to save my design as a vector, i had NO idea what to do. a HUGE thank you -- this was exactly what I needed!!!
This was super helpful! Thank you. I love how simple you made it for someone who has never used Adobe, and explained the different steps for a color logo which is exactly what I needed to know. Bless your soul for helping folks out like myself :)
Brilliant! Straight to the point. Love it! I'm pretty good at PS but I'm just beginning to learn Illustrator. It looks like I'm gonna have to add your channel to my toolbox of instructional tutorials. Thanx for taking the time to demonstrate your skills on RUclips. You are seriously a lifesaver.
haha i just find it now 1hr later than you. i made gaming logo ang realize that it is png so i though if i animate it to after effects it may be pixelated so here i am trying to convert my logo to vector
SOOOO refreshing to get a straight to the point answer with no bullshit! I serioulsy never comment on anything but I really love this no-blah approach! Had me subscribe in a second! keep it up!
I tried this with a logo that contains a blended color gradient, which became unblended after following your steps. Obviously, this won't do? Any idea how I can follow these steps to convert the PNG to AI and maintain any smooth gradients?
Thank you very much, I was stuck in this for a very long time. to be honest, i was not understanding what to search for, finally found it and my biggest problem of the day got solved. Thanks!
Is there any way that once you finish you can save it with a transparent background? Apparently, when I save it it creates a white box around it which wasn't there in the original PNG. *Edit* I figured it out--You can go to View> Transparency Grid. After the image is Traced and Expanded, just click on the surrounding white background images (unfortunately you'll have to sort of pick them each since it's now in parts) and just click Delete. Then once you save it will have a transparent background. Thanks for the video!
wow thank you so much for this video. I definitely needed this video and the best short to the point video to demonstrate how to conver a png fil to a vector file. well done.
Awesome and easy, I was paying Fivers to basically do the same thing. While I've been working with web images both vector and raster for years, I had no idea Illustrator did this so easily. Never to experienced to learn something new!
Simple and easy to follow, clean audio, great job. I would just like to add that I was taking a well-known logo but I wanted to clean it up and make it a little better as this logo isn't used as much as FB, insta, twitter, and those. I found that I had to go to Advanced>Paths, and then play with the percentages a little bit. Once again, awesome job.
My mind is BLOWN🥰 You taught me in minutes what I could'nt understand for days watching others. You made it so succint. I so so glad your page came in my feed. Im going to br binge learning. I hope you have a PATRON page or something....so I can support your awesome work! I'm going to look it up!
Thank you so much for this!! I love drawing logo concepts on my iPad, but I hadn't found a reliable way to turn the elements into vectors to reshape and refine. This is perfect!
You forgot to delete the white shapes, to leave only black. Also, it pays to zoom in to check the corners and edges of "rectangular" shapes - Often when fonts are image traced they leave rounded bulges in strange places and edges that should be straight have a curved edge.
Thanks a million.. you just saved me alot of money had I gotton somebody to vectorize my logo for me🙋♀️ Another like for you and another happy subscriber
if your doing it on an app that can take away the background, do that. i had the same problem and took the background away befor adding it to Adobe. that fixed it for me
Thank you for this info! Mine came out with a white background at first. The way to avoid that is, in "Image Trace," select "Advanced," and check "Ignore White".
Thanks much, I'm much more knowledgeable on photoshop, but my friend was asking me to fix a logo somebody else had done for him, and this helped a lot!
Thanks for this; had to try and salvage some icons that no one had the originals for at work and this did the trick! Was afraid I'd have to spend a couple days remaking them from scratch x_x
Thank you so very much for making this video! My boss gave me some long drawn out process that I could never remember. Thanks to you, I can remember this!!! Thank you for uncomplicating things for me :) Blessings to you!

You can also click ignore white under the advanced tab in image trace.
this was my question too, thank you!
Once you do the same as this video then you ungroupe and delete the white background with delete key. Then save with transparente background.
@@reel_era Unfortunately, this doesn't work if your image contains white xD
thank you this helped!
