Charley you make the most professional and detailed design videos I’ve ever watched. Thank you for doing what you do! I would love to collab on a design with you!!!
Bro, this is pure gold. exactly what I was looking for and to the point. About to go play the Bezier game now. Thanks for your expertise and concise explanations.
most important thing to any creator.... reference images. every single creative application I have learned , reference images are the biggest theme I see.
The easiest way is to use a splatter or grain brush so everything stays vector. I downloaded a lot of these on Envato. It makes my artwork stand out so much more!
I was looking for that in the tutorial but then it wouldn't be a 6 minute or less tutorial lol. I'm assuming that he changes the type of stroke to a paint brush. But I haven't tested yet so I'm not 100% sure.
@@ker_possible I used to draw out my line work by hand and then trace is with the pen tool but that takes FOREVER! I suppose you can also draw the line work out by hand or digitally and then ask illustrator to trace it for you. It's faster but the layers aren't as clean. But I'm really curious as to how he did it in this video. Maybe I missed something and should rewatch it.
Numbers of ways to achieve this, but you can do so by setting pen pressure on if you have a tablet and then go crazy w the brush tool; or you can use the width tool which might be a lil tricky depending on what you're doing.
Lol illustrator is a vector application. Therefore any art made in the application is considered vector art. I think you should look up the difference between vector and raster art.
I just started doing this and I have about 30 clients, mostly politicians / campaign signs / websites / walk cards / flyers .... But I just got a request for a 12 foot by 24 foot billboard and im freaking out.. I found a program that vectorizes images , which I imagine i am going to need. My question is where can I find a 24' width 12' height pdf blank template? I imagine I just create the dimensions in Illustrator, but is there a way to do something that big in adobe pro?
charley i have a question, where can i find images that i can use for my shirt shop? and how do i get inspired? all the times i get inspired i just copy something...
You have a lot of good YT channels (and a lot of bad ones) giving advice on this. Check out Zen watercooler or similar. POD is strong in 2020 ad 2021 and the market is oversaturated so in order to succeed quality and originality is a must.
How can I create t shirt design without iPad. I don't know how to use iPad and can't effort it. I use illustrator but I cannot create heavy detail work. Please suggest
So you have to redraw everything? Why did I do all this work on procreate if I can’t make it into a vector file without redrawing it again. Makes no sense but this is what I’m seeing
ok but it would be very helpful to go more into detail on the thickness of your lines, if you need sharp endings or round ones... could have been a liiiiittle longer but it's fine
bro got straight tp the point W Designer
I love these shorts, they are perfect for my pomodoro breaks!
The Bezier game is baller!
I learned more than tinkering blindly around in illu over the years 🙈
thanks a bunch bro!
subbed!
😀🙏🏼

Agreed!
So close to 200k! Thanks for the video Charley!
I know! It’s exciting!
I also really like the shape builder tool, this was a great video!

Thanks for the great instructions Charley.
So happy I just found your channel! the way you teach things is so easy to follow; I can't believe how much knowledge you are sharing!
Thank you! :)
Is it only black and white? Or can we add color to it. I’m trying to learn how to do all this.
most important thing to any creator.... reference images. every single creative application I have learned , reference images are the biggest theme I see.
Rounding the sharp points with the direct selection tool...is that same method available in Photoshop? Just curious.
Yes my friend u make it look easy. How do you know when to use photoshop and when to use Ai? Thanks
Thanks my guy!
How’d you add those textures at the end? 🥰
I have a ton of videos going over textures but my main methods are either a brush, displacement map or overlaying images with various blend modes. 🙏😊
Great Video! Great little training tool also!
Cheers man!
That was a really good basic breakdown. Wish I had something like this when I was learning AI 10+ years ago.
Very cool but how did you do the textured background?

The real deal starts at 5:33 and ends at 5:55
Appreciate the comment
that was dope!
1st one
Love your work
Thank you so much
literally the video i needed as a self taught graphics designer lmao
Awesome bro we need more tutorials about illustrator 💙
How did you make the line work look so interesting? it appears to have different weight throughout the image

How would you vector a whole poster or package design? Would you have to trace each individual element in the design?
Id use the image trace feature and then clean it up so it looks good. It also depends on the detail of the image.
sickkkkkk thanks bro 🔥
Mr Pangus = cool + talented + helpful + all round nice guy
very misleading title. You showed us how to outline a picture.... now what about the details, shadows etc how are those vectorized?
Not misleading at all. It gets the vectors. Which does not inclide that information.
He did vector it.
Lol illustrator is a vector application. Therefore any art made in the application is considered vector art. I think you should look up the difference between vector and raster art.
He explained it pretty well, lol. Learn a little more, maybe before sending stuff like this...
You can’t really vectorize a gradient shadow but some details yes but it’s usually pointless depending on how clean you want it to look
That game! Legend thanks so much
i love this video ive been looking for something like this forever!
This is really helpful, ha haa you have changed your style, extended coverage!
Nice job sir!
Thank you!

You can sign up to Adobe stock or Envato elements. It’s ok to look at things for inspiration but challenge yourself to put your own spin on it! :)
Freepik, or pixbay, always try to put your imagination on these pictures or get inspiration, so u won't fall on trademark and copy right.

Clickbait to artists.
Awesome tutorial to those that doesn't know what Adobe illustrator basically does.

How to vector any photo in 5 minutes or less.
Spend dozens of hours practicing with the pen tool first.
🤟
You forgot to show how to export as vector
❤️🇵🇭
😀
Tracing the teeth was under 5 minutes? khm khm khmahm ham ahm..... Great video for pen tool though!
Takes longer if you want better results! But this method is really fast when you get in a groove.
Tnx for nothing
Who took a 💩 in your cereal… lol
it's not his fault if you can't learn.
@CharleyPangus ha I used to say this but I'd say who crapped in your cornflakes😂
