You can get the weapon Eleum Loyce pretty easily since I don't think Alsanna needs to be alive for the Ivory King fight, it drops from killing her with a ranged attack and you could use any curved sword you want until you get it, literally just need 1 mil for ivory ing dlc and to beat the lion. Could be really cool

The Bandit Axe was the main weapon I used the first time I played DS2. It's just so reliable and since I love using axes in games like these, this was a big win for me.
Yeah, for me, I used the bastard sword up until I was struggling on iron keep, then I tried out some other weapons I had, tested out the bandit axe, then married it for the rest of my playthrough.
bandit axe was my go to for soul level 1 run, extremely underated weapon, incredible moveset for pvp too

I'm interested to see you do a Powerstance Mace build, or even just a Powerstance Dagger build. Dual Maces are crazy strong for basically the whole game, I remember doing that for my very first playthrough and it made the game a lot easier :)

I love the dragonslayers crescent axe - i know there's nothing really that special about it, but i did a playthrough powerstancing them and loved it. The design of it is just sick imo, would to to have a replica made someday :)
For an even faster axe thats around as good as bandit axe, you can buy the battle axe from the starting smith. Its cheap, scales almost as good as bandit (scales a little less with str, but a bit more with dex), and you get it EVEN FASTER.
Was dual wielding bandit and battle axes for a good while.
If you want to save yourself a handful of souls, you can attack the door above the second bonfire in forest of fallen giants to break it, and inside you can get a hand axe for free

This is the run! That damage from an early weapon is insane. Easy to follow, no fluff, just slice and dice.
Been a while to see some OP damage, my guy. The challenge runs(bow, crossbow, pyro, hex) were good but the pure brute damage run is still the best.
Bro you gotta do a dagger build. I know it sounds CRAZY but I’ve seen crazy DPS outputs against slow bosses. And the fact that your attacks are fast and you can parry character enemies and get massive counter multipliers with the dagger honestly makes me see the dagger as one of the best weapons in the game. Even against the faster enemies if you use the right resins/infusions or start with a sorcerer and get a second dagger and high int off the rip for your magic/dark weapon buffs. And once you get sunlight blade or sacred oath. My guy you wanna talk about DPS fam lol. Your vids are dope bro. DS2 deserves its love too. 💯

Axes in this game have an awesome moveset, and this two in particular are the best at what They do, I love the dragonslayer axe so much

Dragonslayer axe is the goat. If you do the kings gate jump skip in Forest of fallen giants and survive through entire passage till crossroads bonfire, you can get insanely powerful weapon right at the beginning.

I've tried twin Dragonslayer's Axes in my first NG run and it was a very nice change of pace to the normal two handed greatsword/greataxe/scythe/whatever gameplay. Power stance really makes weapons and build combos waaay more interesting in this game

As I only have the og base game, I don't have knowledge about all the weapons added in the DLCs. So I just discovered the Puzzling Stone Sword, neat moveset.
you should try out the drakeblood greatsword from the sunken dlc, quite a fun weapon if set up correctly

Lots of weapons share this moveset! You can mix in heavy short hammers or axes and they swing faster than they should
I use craftsman hammer and gyrm greataxe the gyrm greataxe does around 750 uninfused
Two of them have their own unique moveset powerstanced and non powerstanced

Thanks a lot for the content you made, im appreciate it so much. By the way, i want to ask you to use RTSR more often since all bosses' move sets are well known. Imagine seeing fume knight VS double sacred chime and rtsr. He would be just erased from reality. Same with any other weapons. If you care about brightbugs then just use save dumps, noone will even take a look on that :D

I remember 1H axes being really good in vanilla PVP. I didn't play much of scholar but no lifed the original on release.
Check out the Crescent Moon Axe. Halberd range but 1h Axe moveset. Str int based as well so you have massive range and stagger lol

drakekeeper greataxe is also unreasonably fun to use, I'm p sure you can get it early from the scrubs outside aldias manor near the rtsr (which also drop black knight weapons)

You should try the Mastadon Halberd. It’s really good and the jump attacks does a lot of damage. Easy to get also just have to kill Scorpion boss.

dual trident could make for a good poison/bleed build since it builds up fast with the dual power attack
I used to powerstance unupgraded poison tridents and it was hilarious

Oi This might seem out of bowhere but if you up for it:
I would highly recommend playing through the recently uptated seeker of fire mod because I did and oh boy is it fun due to many fun changes and a new experience that it gives.
BUT if you intent to play the mod I would advise being a little cautious when playing with lighting engine due to it causing me some visual bugs, 2 crashes and even stopped working entirely at some point, I havent heard this from nobody else so it might be my trash level luck.
you can still play with the mods together just beware of some goofiness
If you arent intrested in playing seeker of fire then I have a weapon suggestion instead,
Flexile sentry boss weapons because I am really intrested what build you will do with them

What do you think of doing some builds in the vanilla? Could be interesting as it'll require a different approach as items are different and enemy placements are different.
aye I appreciate it man! Unfortunately I wouldn't know how to put together a build in vanilla as I never played vanilla ds2, it would take some time to learn where everything is as some items are placed in different sections. but perhaps one day I'll take an approach at it!
Axes are pretty good, I prefer axes to greataxes in every souls game with the exception of DS1

You should try fighting fume knight directly doing to second phase sometime, by using velstads helm, i had no idea powerstance axes were so stronk!!
The black knight greataxe was the only one I've used on da low, imma try another axe build fs fs
You should use the heide knight sword, bonus points for wearing heide knight armor to go with it
It would be cool to see a co op playthrough maybe you both use armor and weapons you never use, or rarely use.

Bandit Axe has always been my weapon of choice for the early game, and I would absolutely terrorize newbie players with it in PVP hahaha, glad to see it getting some love!

Dragonrider bow seems op on paper btw. When you do a Magic Infusion, it keeps a B scaling in Strength ontop of C scaling in Intelligence and I dont know why to this day
