So very saddened to hear of Jonny Irwins passing. What a brave man he was fighting to the end. Condolences to his wife and family. His happy infectious smile and character will be greatly missed on Escape to the Country. My favourite programme
This channel is ticking off all of my Cottage Core cravings. This is not a fad for me, but a lifelong desire from childhood - watching The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie.
I really liked house #3 but they're right - you'd need the extra budget to make changes. But the couple really liked #2 so I do hope the community worked for them and they got the house. And you're right, they were absolutely lovely.
I see why she loves house #2 but when you add in the £3000 per year for maintenance you might rethink the ultimate cost of the property. I would rather have a smaller property but then I live alone, with my cats, and my lovely garden. I would choose house #1.
I think the £3000 isnt a problem considering the house wss 30k below budget so that left over covers the maintenance fee for 1 year. Secondly it was the only one that had the kitchen she liked. The other two were smaller and more cramped. The house had the 3 bedrooms they wanted and all had ensuites, something the other houses didn't. The 2nd house also had the biggest and brightest master bedroom. It was the house that had the most value for money in my opinion. It was still a detached house, just in a community.

Very sad news, indeed.
Lovely to see a couple still enjoying their love for each other and looking tenderly at each other !
So wonderful to see a loving, caring couple finding their dream forever home
Working my way through several years of Escape. This has been one of the best episodes. What a darling couple!

For a retired couple, house 2 is ideal...someone does all the garden and maintenance work...her reaction to it said it all
True and being the cheapest out of the 3, at 30k below budget, they have enough money left over to pay the yearly maintenance fee
Fabulous couple. Fully enjoyed this episode.
What a lovely mystery house, but i really loved house 2. What a lovely couple & love Nikki as always
lovely to see places one would never think of going to..love the show😊😊❤❤amazing
Just the cutest couple. I do hope they got house 2.
Best episode l have seen since watching, a nice couple and. all nice homes
😊😊❤❤wow the mystery seems like a casteĺ..who would not like it❤❤
Would love to live in the mystery house. ....extending the kitchen.
I loved the 2nd house as well even though it wss part of a community. It was the cheapest house out of the three, and wouldn't need much updates.
Love house 3, cottage kitchen.
House 3 was not down sizing at all. I wouldn’t even consider it. House 2 seems to be the best fit for this lovely couple.
What a lovely couple. I really only liked house 2.

Lovely couple. I really liked #3, but it would need some changes to suit me. Not a problem if I had the money to do it.
I'd want to add about 2 feet to the kitchen, just so it's not such a narrow stretch and then you can add a pantry.
👎👎👎 another glitch after 36 minutes.
