Thank you for posting this video. Being disabled and a user of the DAS system I now know what to expect when I visit Magic Kingdom on my birthday :) You are the first vlogger that I have seen post a video on this! Keep up the awesome videos!! 😊
I always feel so awful when I ask for a DAS pass. Disabilities are not always visible. Thankfully the cast member at guest services heard me and told me about the pass. I didn’t know about it until I had an incident. I go to the park by myself all the time and I have a medical condition where I have to frequent the restroom and being alone it’s near impossible to have a spot saved in line. This DAS pass saves me and makes the trip so much more enjoyable. I always get dirty looks because I don’t fit the “disabled person profile”. Just a reminder disabilities are not always visible, please don’t judge.
I understand exactly what you mean. People have called me lazy just based on having a medical disability over a visible one. At current, I am epileptic, diabetic, and do have gastrointestinal issues. Any one of these alone can qualify me for a DAS pass just simply because heat and sun exposure can exacerbate each one, and in some cases lead to dangerous situations, which obviously makes standing in line very long difficult on the best days, and can actually be life threatening at times.
I used the DAS for the first time last Sunday and I felt exactly the same way. A few years ago I almost peed myself on indiana jones. I don't have a "disability" per say, but I need to have easy restroom access for constant urine frequency and urgency. It really has disrupted my visits everytime because I would always have to leave the line or have to wait to make sure I was ok to stand in line for a long period of time. My daughter had just gotten a cast off her leg when we went to Disney. She had been told by her doctor that her muscles were very weak and not to walk long distances. We rented a wheelchair for her and got a special pass at all the rides. She looked like a healthy teenager faking, but she was definitely not able to wait in line or walk for very long. I am requesting a DAS pass for the first time for my trip next month. I used to be so ashamed using services because I look “normal”, but I’ve become my own advocate. And you showing me the system has made me feel so much more confident in my ability to use it. Thank you!

We’re thinking about taking him back to Disney again as he hasn’t been to Disney in years and this video came at the perfect time! Thank you again for sharing!
Yes DAS is a lifesaver. Also ask about which rides that have a lot of stairs or steps if there is an alternative way in. I found out about this feature from a couple in front of me. She told me yes CM can take you through a different entrance has no steps. It made a huge difference! I followed them with CM. Make sure you ask about that feature & all others. Best wishes!!
Yes definitely get the DAS! My nephew is autistic and this made the trip so much more enjoyable for him. We were able to get a return time then do something less stimulating while we waited, so he was able to stay all day in the parks.
Thank you for sharing this DAS info!! Genie is launching at Disneyland today and I am a DAS user there. This will be very helpful to me, the disabled community and their families. My days are already challenging, so every little bit of energy conservation, crowd decrease, and simplification to ease confusion and disorientation are appreciated. Disneyland is not only my happy place, it is also my safe place. The CMs have helped me make many tough days there some of my best days ever.
Thank you so much for making and posting this video! I have social anxiety, severe anxiety, and agoraphobia. I’ve been using DAS since 2012. I was a little anxious over the new system. Seeing this video ahead of time really helps my anxiety now that I know what the new process is like!
I suffer the same things as you do & an additional disorder. I was worried about how DAS was going to work. I feel so relieved. Adrian is the best guy so glad he put this video out for us.
Thanks for show me such a great video! I’m taking my ASD, SPD, ADHD, anxiety disorder teenage son in a year and knowing how to use the DAS system in advance is a great help.
Thank you so much for this video!!! We are visiting Disney World for the first time ever next week and my travel agent suggested registering for DAS for my daughter with special needs. It will be a life saver for our family! I have had no idea how anything was going to work. This is so incredibly helpful.
Great explanation on the DAS system. I don’t need to use it but for people who have disabilities and need the DAS system this video is really informative.
Thanks for posting this. After all the cuts recently, we were nervous about the future of DAS. I certainly wasn’t thinking they would improve it!!! Stacking DAS and genie + looks like it will be a game changer for us as a family with multiple autistic folk
Thank you for sharing this info! My family has never used DAS before and has always understood the importance of having options for guests who need DAS. However, this is the first trip we will be using the DAS system because my sister has been diagnosed with mental disorders that can make crowds and lines extremely difficult. We are hoping this can slow down our day a little and let her actually enjoy the trip. As someone else in the comments has pointed out it did take my sister a long time to secure the DAS reservation online, but the cast members over video call (and the phone the day before) were very helpful and she just described her needs and what has happened in the past. No doctor's note required. Now she has the pass for 30 days and we can walk right into the parks. I would like to point out to people that not everyone who uses the DAS system has a physically noticeable disability, so please be kind to those around you.
This is a prohram that will let me finally return to disneyworld after 17 years,, MS has caught up wuith me and i thought i would never be able to go again. Great program
I just pre-registered with the DAS system today and it was pretty easy. Was about a 2 hour wait to chat with someone, and my computer kept losing connection (which did NOT kick me out of the queue) but once I was chatting with a cast member is was super easy and a huge weight off my back. I am so excited they offer this and the ability to get return times through the app. Wonderful!
@@LuisLopez-mn5dci’m not sure if you already got your answer elsewhere, but as of July 2023 when I’m writing this, you can apply for your DAS access as far out as 60 days before your trip. But you have to have your park tickets before you can apply for DAS.
First of all, thank you for the statements made letting your viewers know that DAS should only be used if medically necessary. However, I truly wish you would revise what you said comparing DAS and Genie+. They are for different purposes. Genie + is to save time in line, but DAS is not meant as a time saver. It is designed for guests who have difficulty waiting in the standby line. There is one major difference that you didn't mention. With DAS, the return time you're given is equal to the posted standby wait time minus 10 min. With Genie+, you pay to wait less than the standby time and which should also be less time than DAS too. It may not have been your experience today in regards to your return times, perhaps crowds were low, but even suggesting that Genie+ may not be necessary with DAS may give people who want to cheat the system incentive, regardless of all the warnings about only using it if you absolutely need it. I thank you again for emphasizing that point though. I just hate for anyone to get the impression that using DAS saves as much time as Genie+. It shouldn't. It was never meant to save time. The only thing they should have in common is the Lightning Lane entrance.
Thank you for the additional information on what differentiates the DAS from Disney+, I was wondering what the difference was. As a disabled person in a wheelchair, it enrages me that people abuse the DAS system, pretending to have a disability just to save a few bucks, which in turn harms those who genuinely have a need for it. I would LOVE to not be confined to a wheelchair, I would LOVE to not have a progressive disease that makes everyday life harder for me, and I would LOVE to be able to wait in a long line like everyone else, but that is something my body physically cannot do. People need to understand that DAS is not designed to give disabled people special privileges, it’s designed to allow disabled people such as myself to enjoy the parks the same as any other able-bodied healthy person is able to do. Without DAS, we would never be able to go to the parks. DAS makes the park accessible for us, it allows us to be included in the magic, and allows us to feel like everyone else who is able to enjoy Disney without a disability. DAS isn’t a luxury for those who need it, it’s a necessity. Anyone who sees DAS as a way to save money or as a way to just skip lines clearly should not be using it. Disney already had to change their DAS system years ago because of people abusing it, and all it did was make things harder for those who used it as intended. I understand it’s not something they are able to because of privacy/disability laws, but I sure wish that the parks would be able to require a doctor’s note in order for someone to utilize DAS. It wouldn’t stop all of the fakers, but it would certainly be a better deterrent. Again, thanks for explaining the comparison of the new system a bit more in depth! 😊 Merry Christmas and God bless!
I agree about checking for a Dr note. My autistic son uses DAS. I always take a Dr note and pull it out to show them, but they always refuse to look at it. I also remember when too many abusers changed the system. Once while waiting in the (then) FP line, some man yelled at me saying my son didn't look like he had a disability. I politely told him I would cut off my right arm and wait in his line for 12 hours if it would cure his autism. Everyone around us clapped. He said nothing.
@@jayneestrycker8691 It makes me so angry when people assume just because you don’t have a physical disability you’re abusing the system. There are so many other things that could warrant needing the system than just physical ailments. Why that man thought he had the right to question your son is dumbfounding.
Thanks for this! My son has autism and our trip is coming up. We got him pre registered and now understand how it works with the new system thanks to your informative video
This is the best explained video for actually using the DAS system. Thanks for sharing! I've used it before, but years ago. Before the Disney Experience App came into play and had no idea how it would work. Now I'm ready to enjoy our coming trip!
Thanks for this video- seeing app is really helpful. FYI when you try to get DAS in advance- it takes forever. Person needing DAS must be with you. You enter a chat QUE online (not a scheduled time) and wait. This takes hours/days. Weekdays are better. On a Saturday- we spent 8 hours in a chat que and never got to speak to an cast member. It took us 4 days of trying as we had a student needing DAS and he was in school. Get in que at 7 am.
Thank you for this info, it was extremely helpful. I think you should let your viewers know, that if they try to use das just to get on rides with no wait and Disney finds out you don't have a disability or deam it's not credible, Disney will ban them for life.
Thank you so much for this video! Visiting in 2 weeks and I am a DAS user but haven't been since Sep 2020, so this version of DAS is completely new to me
Thank you for such a helpful video! My child and I both have disabilities that make long standing times challenging and I found this really helpful for planning our trip.
Looked this video up because my son uses the DAS & we will be back next month. Thank you for all of the information & for clearly walking us through it!!
Thank you for this video we used the das system when we last went and was a great and easy to use and was wondering how the new genie system and the das would work
Thank you for showing how to use the DAS system, we are going to be going later this year and we haven’t been since pre covid and I have a sister with disabilities and this helps so much
Thank you so much for this! I preregistered for the DAS. I am going in less than two weeks and was worried about how it is all working. Watching this put my mind at ease. My only concern is when the Lightning Lane gets long. I can’t do long lines- ergo the DAS. Praying that maybe we won’t face that when we go in less than two weeks. This was so hopeful!
Thank you for making this. We traveling in a couple weeks with my son who has autism so waiting in a line is pain staking process. We are hoping this relieves his anxiety and we can enjoy our vacation a bit more.
My first TPE comment! Hi Adrian love your vlogs you are great, you explain things so well and make things easy to understand. I don’t need to use DAS but looks like a great system, let’s hope only the people who genuinely need it use it! I’m looking forward to seeing you at the other parks using Genie+, your MK one was great 👍🏼😄
I love how you said this is not meant to help you skip the lines / bypass genie : My cousin has DAS due to autism and OCD that makes waiting in line very overstimulating and difficult for her; I go on the rides she wants to go on using DAs but I also purchase genie for myself for the rides she doesn’t want to go on, she hates roller coasters and thrill rides: that’s the way it should be. I don’t use her das to bypass lines when it’s not for her benefit.
yes yes! i have an orthostatic condition and can’t stand in one place for long periods of time. the florida heat already affects me a ton, and sometimes i shake too much to support myself - it’s so important that people don’t use this feature when they don’t need it.
DAS was such a lifesaver for me when they got rid of fastpass. I don’t think I’d use Genie while using DAS other than MK or crazy holiday crowds. Thanks for the video!
Thank you tht was so useful as I've got health issues which causes lack of mobility I got the das B4 and wondering if it was v informative thank you hope kodas ok
Thank you! This was a great video on the new DAS. My question has been whether my family should spend the additional money on Genie+ if the DAS is essentially cutting down our wait times and is working efficiently. I am full-time in a wheelchair from a neuro disease so we appreciate DAS! If the whole family party can be apart of the request wait times then I guess Genie+ isn't really necessary???
Just want to clarify…. So the DAS system is NOT a shorter line that you wait in (like Genie plus), but is the same wait (or maybe 10 minutes less like one commenter said)… the difference being you don’t have to physically be standing in the line right? You could either rest or eat or slowly make your way there? I’m debating what to do on our upcoming trip. My husband was born with a type of spina bifida but can still walk. But after multiple surgeries on his back, knees, and feet (plus neuropathy and frequent foot wounds), he walks a little slower and can make his foot wound worse with too much walking/standing. Which is why his doctor issued a parking pass (and of course some ignorant people have commented to him bc he is not in a wheelchair 🤦♀️). With his condition in mind, would you recommend Genie plus or DAS, or combo? Can DAS be used for the whole party or is there a limit? (It might be our family of five or we might have our cousins joining us). Not sure how that works so we can stay together as a group. Thank you for your video!
Thank you for this! I was able to pre register for DAS for my son. It does take time to virtual chat member to get back with you but did get to make the two pre selections ahead of time. Question is the app showed the pre selection times but not the DAS button in the video. Wonder if that button shows up when we get to the park. Any ideas if that is why I don't see the DAS button in the app?
@@eone5415 yes from others that have responded to me the DAS button does not show until your in the park. I go on the 21st so will let you know if I have any issues
@@samanthadaniel7130 thank you for the reply! I will be going to Disneyland on the 20th so hopefully it will work since they just newly rolled the Genie and new DAS system this week there.
Looking forward to using this in a couple of weeks. My grandson has some issues that make waiting in line very difficult. Pre registration on line/video chat was super easy. Only difficulty was getting him to be still for the picture.
I have lupus and I cant sit or stand too long, walk long distances or be in the sun. People are horrible because I'm not old and cant see my illness. So they think I'm taking advantage. It's a horrible feeling. I hope people really start becoming more empathetic. Even cast members can look down on me at times.
I agree my daughter’s disability is not visible and we need to stop spreading hate about people taking advantage. How do you know that. Nobody knows what my daughters porphyria is and they can’t see it but she ends up in severe pain if in the sun too long.
I use the DAS system for both of my boys. This was a very informative video. Thank you for putting this together. Relieves a lot of stress and anxiety for our upcoming Disney day.
I plan on taking a 50th anniversary trip later this year thanks to a beloved childhood memory of mine involving a trip during the 25th anniversary celebration. I'm glad I can still use the DAS system in the Lightning Lane like I did when the original Fastpass was around so I won't have to feel too concerned about me turning my pockets inside out. Believe me, I was no exception when it came to outrage over the announcement of Disney Genie replacing the Fastpass System.
Thank you so much for this video Adrian. This system hasn't been a priority on other channels, and some families really need it. I am glad you also addressed the fact that the DAS system shouldn't be abused. From my observations, the majority of people that use it, abuse it. This is not fair to the people who really do need it, because the people who abuse it make it harder for the people who really need it to get it. It is also not fair to other park guests.
That’s what I was thinking & I’m praying that guests that don’t have a disability be honest & not sign up for it. I especially like the rides where I can skip the stairs & go through an alternate entrance.
@@car2029 Then people that do have a disability don't always need to use the DAS system either, just because it's convenient. I am completely blind in my left eye, have Traumatic Brain Injury, and most of my spine is metal. I still get around fine, and would feel morally wrong using the DAS system. I have gone to WDW many times, and have never used it.
@@julie3895 I have several severe disabilities that are "invisible" incurred from serving my country so don't even. Tons of people brag about abusing the system all of the time.
Thank you for making this helpful video! My family will be in Disney world in two weeks we got my son registed recently. So Rise of the resistance works on DAS? It wasn’t one of our early selection options and my son was so bummed.
How many people can use DAS with the disabled person. My daughter is disabled and we’ll be going to WDW with me, my husband, 2 other kids, and my 2 parents. I don’t want to abuse the system but I want us to be able to ride some rides together!
Can I make a request by chance? Could you please do another livestream soon? I love those and I feel like you’re an old friend that I’m just hanging out with when you do those
Thank you! What qualifies as disability? I'm a year out from my last chemo treatment for brain cancer and I still experience fatigue. Do I need to show more than my head scar?
Unfortunately I do not know what Disney qualifies as a disability. You would need to call Disney or discuss it with the cast member when you pre register for the service
As someone who had a parent with chemo experience coming with me to a Disney park (a decade ago almost I will admit), I would suggest a scooter or wheelchair, but I'm not going to assume your stamina levels, just letting you know. I would count fatigue as one for an experience like Disney as there's a LOT of area to move around. I hope a good answer comes to this sort of question for the current day soon!
I SO appreciate this video I’m taking my boys on their first ever WDW trip in a week and I’ve been so confused about how it’ll work with genie plus and everything. I also appreciate your disclaimer to not use and abuse the system there are so many less obvious disabilities that NEED this service and if it’s taken away it’ll ruin the ability for our Disney obsessed family to EVER do Disney 😢
I’ve read some conflicting information as to whether you can pre-book DAS passes or make DAS passes reservations while in the park, for the Lightning Lane Attractions - RotR, SM, FoP, etc. So I guess from your video, LL “pay-per-use” rides are DAS compatible?
Thank you for this. It is a bit confusing. I will be registering for myself for March. I'm looking forward to using this to make my experience better. Standing in long lines when you are disabled is horrible. I'm not ready for a wheel chair yet but it has crossed my mind so I don't end up suffering at the end of the day from standing. This system will make my time there much more enjoyable.
Hey Rebecca! Unfortunately DAS isn't for mobility issues so I don't believe you would be approved based on that. But if you think you're going to have an issue you should certainly consider the wheelchair or scooter to make sure you aren't uncomfortable and/or wear yourself out. Want to make sure you're able to enjoy your day!
What if two people in your group need it, because my daughter has type 1 diabetes and my nephew has autism, do we need two das passes or still just one? There will be rides my daughter can go on but my nephew won’t.
Thank you for this video. It's the best, easiest to understand video I've seen on DAS. Our autistic son uses DAS. We are coming in May. We will be trying the online zoom interview in advance. Thanks agsin😊👍😊
When they have you do it 30 days before you go can you still make more before the you the other one because they told to pick 2 rides at each park and also does it work for cheaters and magic shot lines

Everyone on Runaway Railway: I hope the ride continues!
Adrien: Please let us get evaced
🤣🤣🤣
I have a few conditions and agoraphobia is one of them. This will be a godsend for her. I hope you enjoy your trip!
This is a prohram that will let me finally return to disneyworld after 17 years,, MS has caught up wuith me and i thought i would never be able to go again. Great program
Thank you so much for this. My brother has autism and we are going to Disney for the first time since we were little kids in March.
I have a friend who'll need DAS, just shared your vid with her. thanks!!!
Wonderful!
When are you attending the park if you don't mind me asking? My family and I are going over Xmas weekend. Do you think we can pre-register now?
@@LuisLopez-mn5dci’m not sure if you already got your answer elsewhere, but as of July 2023 when I’m writing this, you can apply for your DAS access as far out as 60 days before your trip. But you have to have your park tickets before you can apply for DAS.
Does the DAS stay in your Disney app history for that year …like if you used it in 2021 but now it’s 2024 do you have to register again ?
@@8symmetreylover8 thank you for your support Marni 😊
@@jayneestrycker8691 Sitting here alone and physically clapped myself. Tell 'em, Momma Bear!
Thank you so much I have shared this video with my mom and dad so they know how to use the new DAS system.
I appreciate your detailed and helpful information. I understood your easy instructions and I don’t know anything about Disney.
This is important info that should probably be pinned, honestly. Thanks Trisha!
I love seeing you two smile as you ride! That's what it's all about!
I love this disability pass it works so good it’s much easier then walking up to a cast member and asking them for a return time good job genie plus!
I just signed up for a DAS Pass but didn't know how to do the rest so thank you for the video... It explained a LOT!!!
Thank you for this info, it was extremely helpful. I think you should let your viewers know, that if they try to use das just to get on rides with no wait and Disney finds out you don't have a disability or deam it's not credible, Disney will ban them for life.
Thanks for the video, I use DAS and glad you made this video. Great job. Love how you can tell, even with his mask, your dad was having fun.
Thank you, thank you!!
For posting this video so helpful.
Muchas Gracias mi Hermano.
Sending so much love from New York!!
Thank you so much for this video! Visiting in 2 weeks and I am a DAS user but haven't been since Sep 2020, so this version of DAS is completely new to me
Thank you! This helped clarify a couple things we were trying to figure out. It's nice to see it in action.
Thank you Thank you!! I use it for my boys and I've been panicking on the system
Thank you for making this video. I was so confused on the process of this before I watched this.
Thank you for such a helpful video! My child and I both have disabilities that make long standing times challenging and I found this really helpful for planning our trip.
This ws very helpful! Thank you. We go to Disney on Wednesday and this will be our first time using DAS
Thank you! You are a man of your word lol. I appreciate the effort you put into this!!
Thank you!!! You did a great job of explaining. I was confused reading about it on line.
THANK YOU for explaining the DAS program! 👍🏻😀 This will be very helpful information for my husband. Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤
Looked this video up because my son uses the DAS & we will be back next month. Thank you for all of the information & for clearly walking us through it!!
Great info! Thank you for the content!
Thank you for this video we used the das system when we last went and was a great and easy to use and was wondering how the new genie system and the das would work
We are going with my brother's family and they have to use this system and we have been worried about it. Thanks!
Thanks soooo much for this video....it’s a lot easier using the DAS than I thought it was going to be! I appreciate you!
Almost at 30k, good luck!!
Thank you for showing how to use the DAS system, we are going to be going later this year and we haven’t been since pre covid and I have a sister with disabilities and this helps so much
Thanks for making this vid! I’ll be going with a friend who uses DAS in November.
Thank you. This was very informative.
This is very helpful because we use DAS.
Very helpful! We are new to DAS. Wish we didn't need it but here we are. Thanks for the video!
Thank you so much for this! ❤️ We will definitely be using this for my son the next time we go!
Thank you SO much for posting this video! Very helpful.
Thanks for this video. We will be using DAS for the 1st time in January and I was so anxious about it and not being able to do much.
Thank you for the great video.
I’m looking forward to seeing you at the other parks using Genie+, your MK one was great 👍🏼😄
Thx for the great explanation and taking us along! Also loved your 50th celebration T-shirt!!
Thank you very much!!! I’m from Spain. My two sons are autistic and I din’t know how to use das system!!!! You have explained very good.
yes yes! i have an orthostatic condition and can’t stand in one place for long periods of time. the florida heat already affects me a ton, and sometimes i shake too much to support myself - it’s so important that people don’t use this feature when they don’t need it.
If your condition can be mitigated by a wheelchair or scooter you would not qualify from my understanding
@@Carla-ng2yo yes, though there are other factors that play into me not being able to wait for very long. :)
DAS was such a lifesaver for me when they got rid of fastpass. I don’t think I’d use Genie while using DAS other than MK or crazy holiday crowds. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for this video! My son is autistic and I wasn’t sure how this works!
Thank you & really appreciate you. My daughter & I both need DAS. You are the best. 👏👏
I have the same question. I see my pre-selection but not the DAS button on my app. Does that show up only when you’re in the park?
@@eone5415 yes from others that have responded to me the DAS button does not show until your in the park. I go on the 21st so will let you know if I have any issues
@@samanthadaniel7130 thank you for the reply! I will be going to Disneyland on the 20th so hopefully it will work since they just newly rolled the Genie and new DAS system this week there.
Looking forward to using this in a couple of weeks. My grandson has some issues that make waiting in line very difficult. Pre registration on line/video chat was super easy. Only difficulty was getting him to be still for the picture.
What was the registration process like? How long did it take? Good luck on your trip! I’m sure it will be a huge help.
What a great day with your dad. Appreciate all the info you provided! -S
Very helpful video, thank you :)
@@bxbomber7128 So happy to hear you are doing well.
I’m sure some people abuse it, but we should all keep in mind that some disabilities and/or health conditions can be invisible 👍🏼
If I recall correctly it’s up to 6 people total
I am looking to use DAS for my IBS because I always run off line to use the bathroom. Do you recommend also buying genie plus ?
Thank you for doing this!
Das has a 3hr to 4 hr wait time if you do it ahead of time. Make sure to link your tickets ahead od time.
can you make a video showing das used on gaurdians - like elevatirs and if accessible car...
Thank you for this! We have ASD daughter who utilizes this service… these upgrades are great! We can finally ride rise…
Would you recommend or see a benefit to having genie and DAS? Thanks.
Can I make a request by chance? Could you please do another livestream soon? I love those and I feel like you’re an old friend that I’m just hanging out with when you do those
Question please: once in the parks, are you able to get a time for any ride? Including ILL?
Should I be able to see the DAS button in my app now a couple of weeks before my trip? Or does it show up when you’re there?
Where do you purchased your t-shirt?
@@ThemeParkExpress Thank you for such a quick response. Love you channel and explanations.
I hope a good answer comes to this sort of question for the current day soon!
i notice you scan ur magic band and a card ? are both needed?
Correct
Thank you for sharing great video
Thanks for the video...did you get sny info sbout signing up for DAS up to 30 days prior to trip. I heard you can sign up and a CM walks you through it prior to arriving.
Thank you so much for this video!! We paid for Genie+, later on I was told that my little kid with IBD qualifies for DAS. Do you know if this correct?
Do you have to use a computer or can you use your phone to pre-register
