    Hi everyone! Unfortunately, there have been a lot of scammers posting comments saying that you’ve won a prize and asking to be messaged on Telegram. This isn’t me and I haven’t done any giveaways either. Please do not reply to these people. If I were ever to do a giveaway, I would mention it in a video and email you directly. Stay safe everyone!

    I’m not talking about you specifically I’m talking about the people making a fuss about the 256 gb one being slower and OMG IT TAKES AN ENTIRE 2 MINUTES LONGER THAN THE MBP OR THE OLD MBA like I’m coming from a laptop with originaly an hdd that took 20 to 30 mins to transfer a 5 or so gb file and when I upgraded to a Sata sad and the same file would take only 15 to 20 mins instead of 30 mins I thought that that was incredibly fast but ppl making a fuss on the mba that probably did the same thing in 30 sec is outrageous.

    it's insane that on my fully spec'ed out 13" 2018 macbook pro, i cant even playback 4k Log footage in premiere *at all* unless it's 1/4 quality in premiere (and even then, it's choppy), so Im just used to editing with proxies. This just convinced me to get an air with the upgraded RAM and 512gb ssd. It's unbelievable how good these M chips are!

    • @verasambience
      @verasambience 5 месяцев назад +1

      What do you mean editing with proxies? I edit videos on my 2013 13” macbook pro lmao and its so slow like u said playback is choppy in 1/4 quality so what do you use for that?

    • @nightsbeatswitchgood
      @nightsbeatswitchgood 5 месяцев назад

      @@verasambience proxy files are small, low-resolution versions of your original video files. It speeds up your workflow because then Premiere (or any editing platform) doesn't have to render those big video files constantly, but uses the fast, low-res versions instead, making for much smoother and faster editing.
      Premiere will automatically link and render the original files at export too, so you can toggle between the two for example when you start grading.
      Look up "How to EDIT FASTER with Proxy Files in Premiere Pro (2022)"-this is a great explanation/tutorial on YT!

    Thank you for this. I am a basic RUclipsr (I still use iMovie for editing because for me and my style of videos it works just fine). I have the 2019 M1 MacBook Air and edit all my videos on it. It does take forever to export it, but it's good enough for me. I've been considering upgrading my MacBook to the M2, but the Pro is a lot more expensive for me while the Air is a little more in my price range. Pretty much every review of the M2 Air is saying that video editing is all but impossible on the Air and the Pro is really the only way to go. I know my experience is going to be different because I will probably still be using iMovie and I haven't fully decided if or when I will upgrade to the new MacBooks, but it is nice to know that the M2 Air is actually an option if I decide to go with it.

    I think it's so funny that this is still a thing. I was already editing videos on my 11" MacBook Air in 2015. Obviously it wasn't suited for anything close to professional work (although I did also use it for coding a lot), but for a beginner, it was enough. The M1/M2 MacBook Air models are SO incredibly fast compared to that 2015 model. In my experience and opinion, the M1 is fantastic even if you're getting into video editing (and it's a much better value than the M2 which is way more expensive).

      So as a hobbyist and a beginner myself, I have a MacBook Pro 2020 i5, its not unified memory and its not ssd, would a Mac air M2 be an upgrade for me in terms of performance? if I get the 16GB unified memory? Plus its SSD. I don't do lots of editing every week but I want to be able to do 4k stuff with my go pros and do some photo edits on Lightroom and photoshop from my Nikon Z6. Personally I feel this intel Mac has quite slow transfer speeds, and gets very hot very quickly doing anything.

    • @stefandesu
      @stefandesu Год назад

      @@rossdownie7959 Are you sure your computer doesn't have an SSD? I don't think Apple has sold a laptop without an SSD since... 2013? Maybe 2016, not 100% sure. Anyway, the jump to Apple Silicon was pretty big, so it's absolutely an upgrade in performance, even though your computer isn't very old. Also the M1/M2 Airs don't have a fan which I think is amazing (and mine doesn't really get hot, even when video editing). I would absolutely recommend the 16 GB memory and at least 512 GB of storage. If you think you need a bit more power for photo/video editing, I've heard that the 14" MacBook Pros (with M1 Pro or M1 Max SOC) are supposed to be absolutely fantastic devices. Of course it's going to cost much more and they are bigger and heavier than the Air. But maybe it's still an option for you. Hope I could help.

      @@davidkendrick617 lol.. I don't know why everyone is laughing at me. I wish I had a macbook with m2 but totally outside my budget. I want to know from a real user if they are able to edit and render 4K prores videos on Da Vinci Resolve on an 8 GB on Macbook without issues then I will buy the 8GB because I can save up for it. I have been looking at the used market over here where I live and all everyone is selling is 8GB macs.

      Go with the 8GB RAM m2 Air if you don't plan on heavy multitasking or if you don't care about heavy swap memory usage that could render your Macbook air into a lightweight brick in about a couple of years.
      16GB of RAM is a good balance for light multitasking and 24GB RAM is ideal for heavier multitasking usage (at which point I would consider buying the MacBook Pro with the M1 Pro chip instead).
      I've owned all 3 variants above to test them out and found heavy memory pressure with the lower RAM variants, which is detrimental to the lifespan of the device.

    You should talk with less base i believe, it's like that guy in one series mocking the cafe girl for talking exactly like this like she doesn't care at all
