Wooooohooooo!!!!! Galveston is down the road from us. I have been hoping for an Oasis class ship. Looking forward to hearing what the itineraries will be. So excited about this!!!🥳🤩
Great news. Now they need to diversify the ports they visit when leaving from Galvestion. The Jamacia/Cozumel/Cayman/Roatan/Costa Maya can get quite repetitive. Lets get some COCO Cay and Eastern and USVI stops in there.
Eastern Caribbean is probably too far from Galveston for a feasible sailing time. there would probably be 3+ sea days at each end. That + ports means the trip would have to be at least 10 days and I think, from a business perspective, RCL limits how many of those they do since they cost a lot to them and to passengers and people are (probably) less likely to pay for them. Not sure why they wouldn't squeeze in CocoCay, seems like they should be able to make it since they can get over to Cayman
RCI does 7 & 8 day cruises that include Cozumel from Fort Lauderdale currently. I can't imagine it would be that much more difficult to do a reverse itinerary (St. Thomas, Coco Cay) from Galveston.
Thank you RCL. We in TX have been wanting for a bigger ship and more modern Pier for years. Now, RCL must add some new destinations out of Galveston. The old ones are getting boring. If nothing else, start adding 10 day cruises as there are in many other cruise ports. Hopefully, the port/city of Galveston is also planning on good traffic control as well.
David Ahrens Me, too! I’m flying to Miami in February for a cruise on the Symphony. Looking forward to saving airfare & driving from Frisco to Galveston for the Allure!!
I’m more than excited🙂! I’ve been on Allure once and it is my favorite ship of all time. However, I’m looking forward to cruising on Symphony of The Seas as well! I’m over joyed about the new Royal Caribbean terminal in Galveston and it being the new home of Allure. I can’t wait for it to get to Galveston!!!! Thank you Royal Caribbean👏!
As a Texas resident, who lives less than 4 hours from Galveston, this is FANTASTIC news. Getting an Oasis and potentially an Icon class ship within easy drive of home? Heck yeah! Also I'm very interested to hear RC is pursuing LEED certification for the new terminal. Do you mow what level of certification they're seeking (Base certification, Silver, Gold, or Platinum)?
That is great news. I’ve had to sail with Princess since Royal pulled out mariner of the seas several years ago. It will be so much easier for me to fly from California to Galveston rather than Miami or Orlando!
After going on several Carnival Cruises, I finally tried Royal Caribbean earlier this year. After years of thinking Royal was better, I must say, I couldn’t have been more disappointed. Carnival has must better service and much better food. I might try this boat because i would like to see just how big it is but if you have only ever done Royal Caribbean you’re missing out.
This is big news!! We have yet to be on Allure of the Seas but love Oasis Class ships! Also hope the new terminal will be just like Miami's as that terminal is AMAZING!!!
Very happy to hear this. We went on the Vision of the Seas and it was fine but not really kid friendly in our opinion. Dinners, drinks and shows were great though. Still a great vacation.
UGGGGH! I'm so excited about the idea of the new terminal and an oasis class ship, but MAN was galveston expensive to navigate for a non-local. Between hotels and transportation, my mom and I spent about $350 just to get to and from the ship! It was a real challenge - any chance the new RC terminal will come with shuttle service to and from Houston Hobby? Maybe discounts on lodging the area?
How do I book a cruise? I am interested in a closed loop cruise for me and my wife. We are not into the partying scene we are more into scenery and fun things to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
So I will be sailing on the allure summer 2021, the dreaded Covid-19 should be gone God willing. Do you all think the Allure will be renovated with all those awesome amenities by then?
If somebody could build such a huge machine, what of how to deal with scary storms that causes loss of life when there an incident of sinking ?? Please come up with what could handle the storm If it's difficult then let's always put God fast over those ships
Galveston is the saddest port I have ever cruised from. I lived in TX...but after trying Galveston once....I just flew somewhere else for all my next cruises. Hopefully RCCL improves it. The sight of abandoned boats , and giant rusted oil rigs is depressing.
@@anthonyfam5469 Correct...once it goes into sea it's all forgotten. But those first hours on the Lido and the departure....are a horror sight. Not a great start for a vacation, or good for photos.
@@Dangic23 Galveston isn't revolved around the cruise port. The oil rig business was there before cruises started departing. The Galveston ship channel is very industrial, its practical that way.
@@Cause023 Yes. I lived in TX and familiar with the area. I moved out in 2010.....but was told recently that the cruise port still looked the same. That's why I wrote that I hope for RCCL to improve it with their new construction.
Agree. Puerto Rico could've been banking $$$$$many millions for over 20 years if they had developed 2 Ports of Call and had cruises make both stops....Old San Juan, then Ponce on the way back. Definitely no forward thinking
Galveston is the worst port I have been to and will NEVER sail from there again. It is at least $95.00 round trip per person to get there from the Houston airport . The border patrol in Galveston makes you pay duty tax for any liquor 🍹 you bring in.🙁
Wooooohooooo!!!!! Galveston is down the road from us. I have been hoping for an Oasis class ship. Looking forward to hearing what the itineraries will be. So excited about this!!!🥳🤩
It's about time. This is our favorite ship in the fleet and everything is BIG in Texas, so bring on the Allure!

Agree and I’m sure they’d want to, but remember these ships are huge and hard to dock. Not every port of call can occupy these massive ships.
Totally agree

You can do a 7 Day Bahamas Cruise which cruise lines call Eastern Caribbean from Galveston

Just got back from Symphony. Galveston is way closer to Dallas than Miami!! I will be booking as soon as possible.

That’s awesome! I exclusively leave out of Galveston, and as much as I love the Liberty of the Seas I’m glad to be getting some diversity in options!

As a TX resident, this is the best of both worlds since we only cruise Oasis class. A simple road trip and we're there!
Finally!! I cannot wait for all the changes in Galveston
I have been on Allure twice. We love it. ❤ Sure would be great if it sailed out of San Pedro again.

I agree. RC nickles and dimes you too.
That’s awesome news, I live just north of Galveston, so that’ll make it convenient for my travels. 🛳👍
Can’t wait! We plan to cruise on the Allure in March 2022!
This is big news!! We have yet to be on Allure of the Seas but love Oasis Class ships! Also hope the new terminal will be just like Miami's as that terminal is AMAZING!!!
Yesss! the question remains though will the destinations change?
Thanks for the update Matt. Looking forward to our 2nd Allure sailing Nov 2020 after the updates. Great ship
I love that there will be more competition and choice.
Definitely I will be booking to go on there can’t wait for it to come I’m so excited
Cool I live like 2 blocks from the port and I really wanna go on another cruise
Woohoo!!! Texas!!
Very excited, definitely will look forward to sailing Allure of the seas

Nice closest port to me!
YES! Im ready to go!
Can't wait!
when does booking open up?
We'll be on the Allure May 2023! Our 1st cruise!
Great news!
Will the current pandemic delay the terminal construction?
Much closer to us.

Sailing on Allure July 2021!
Omg when are the dates opening ? So ready
Yes!! Yes!!! Yes!!!!
So I will be sailing on the allure summer 2021, the dreaded Covid-19 should be gone God willing. Do you all think the Allure will be renovated with all those awesome amenities by then?
Yay!!
Yeah!! Now I don’t have to fly as far. California to Texas instead of Florida.
Procore Cup Series, I'm a Texas native and will be flying to Florida toward the end of 2021 to sail on Symphony Of The Seas for my first cruise.
Tony Hinojosa. I’m jealous!
Procore Cup Series, Just noticed I said 2021, meant 2020. End of this coming year
Fantastic!

Aw all the repositions of oasis class ships are all too far from my home in asia,i guess i have to fly to amarica
Mc Nugget you got Quantum class
Wait the Allure hasn’t done it’s renovations yet...? I’m going on in a few weeks and thought they already did it
No, I think you're thinking of Oasis. Allure gets her upgrades in 2020.
Wow that’s a bummer :(
How many days advance do you need to switch ships?
