I just restored this exact model(but the much rarer "narrow tire" version) and I painted it to reflect my 1st ever car back in 1982 which was a MK1 Ford Capri V6 in red with black interior. The front axles were slightly bent on one corner, it was easily remedied with some needle nose pliers after removing the axle from the chassis. Love your version, looks fantastic!

Lowered, Ford blue for the motor, more modern brushed finish for the wheels. Paint looks fantastic.

Hey buddy, Thanks for the Shout out. Beautiful job on the little Capri. There's actually still a few of those in my area. There was a car movie in the 80s Called Shaker Run,that had a badass Capri with flares,and a V8. Pretty neat racecar

Glad you kept the black bonnet as the car it is the RS3100 version. Those four spoke replacement wheels would ideally suit any fast Ford from the seventies to early eighties. The escort RS2000 alloys were iconic.

I love these old Capris. I had a Matchbox Capri 'Maxi-Taxi' when I was a kid
The first car I remember my Grandmother driving was a MK 1 3000cc GT Capri in aubergine, she drove it too!!!! Then she had a MK 2 Cortina 1600 GT, fast too!!!!!!!!! Later when I was a mechanic in my early years of work I found a Daytona Yellow MK 1 3000cc GT Capri and I drove that too!!!!!!!!!. Your Custom envoked the memories of those days so cheers. I normally stick to Regular wheels and Thin wheel transition superfast from the first superfast catalogue, but now I'm gonna have to find two of these Capri's and do a Nod to Grandmother and my Daytona Yellow one. These castings were actually released in 1971 and replaced the superfast S&S Cadillac Ambulance. ' Top Job Fella' ;-)

Great work rob paint turned out excellent.
I had one of these as my first car and restored it in the 90s and painted it back in its original colour Le Mans Green with a black vinyl roof.
Very nice Rob, Had a real one many years ago, driving was fun back then.
Learned to drive at 17 in a 1.6 capri in metallic silver/blue. I felt like a fighter pilot lol

O.M.G I have this exact same car, The only matchbox I have left from my childhood, the hitch in the rear was for a blue boat and boat trailer, I still have the boat and trailer it came in a set and is still in reasonable condition after all these years.
I'm loving the extremely casual double entendres…
Can't believe that I had this model,and many many more Matchbox Cars,in the early 80s I had a fascination with scrap yards,and put many under a breeze block😥😥😥googled my big "Charlie's Angel Van " Worth about 700 quid now...😯

This Capri came out looking awesome! You did a great job! In fact, I watched the episode on my tv and felt the need to pull it up on my phone so I could comment. You did this car justice! She looks better then she ever did before, that's for sure! Also a lot of people believe silver to be the best color for this scale. It helps detail pop!

I always liked this model, apart from the chunky wheels Matchbox gave it. Normal size Superfast wheels would have been fine; skinny ones even better. Your finished one looks superb. By the state of the original wheels, I'd put money on the previous owner using it to play games based on 'The Sweeney' or 'The Professionals' with. That's what my brother and I would have done.
A mate of mine had a Capri for a long time, it was his pride and joy - simple colour scheme: white, with a black vinyl roof.

Well done there Matchbox garage you just did really nice job on this Capri it's stunning and gratefully machine that looks to come out of magazine form mid 2000s if you ask anyone around the time they were young i am so glad that this matchbox was saved form the trash can't wait for the next video.

You did a real Good Job again your Capri remains me on that Capri A Friend from my Dad owns he have 1984 Capri MK3 Rs Version in Silver he bought that new and is the First einer since that !! and this Car looks like Brand new until today !! It have seen not one Winter until today !! It have no Rust ore damage ...I like this Car

Very nice work on the Capri, the silver and black looks really smooth. The smaller tires sit the car up, but lowering it would maybe throw it off.

I remember these orange and apple green colors were very popular on cars in the early 70's, and the matt black bonnet on so-called "sport" cars. I would have kept it that color.
